Apparently when Sean Bean was cast they asked him to do a more Southern English accent (more normal for international viewers) and he was like No. So all the other actors whose characters are from the North had to mimic his more Northern accent. It's crazy how his refusal to do a different accent set the standard so high that from the first line of this season I went "oh we're in the North I hear the accent" Also makes perfect sense as to why it sounds like Robb hahaha

But in the books, it seems like most of the lords and ladies have what the books call a "highborn" accent.
Jon and Sam and Maester Aemon and Jeor Mormon and Cat and Cersei and Sansa, etc., all speak very formally. George doesn't write anything into their dialogue that indicates an accent, like he does with various working class or "commoner's" speech. (e.g. Davos and Gendry)
Lords and Ladies through the entire Seven Kingdoms are all educated by Maesters and Septons/Septas.
I imagine that most Lords and Ladies throughout Westeros - even Dorne - have similar accents (= stuffy formal / "lordly" accents) because all of their education originates from the same place (Oldtown).

Blood and Cheese was way more brutal in the books. When the assassins get to Helaena’s chambers they tie her and Alicent up. They ask Helaena to pick which of her sons they kill - the 6 year old Jaehaerys or 3 year old Maelor. When she refuses to pick they threathen her with r*apong her 6 year old daughter so she picks Maelor, hoping he’d be too young to understand what is happening. In the books Blood&Cheese is much different.
First off, Aemond is never mentioned to be the target, and Rhaenyra is not the one to incite the mission. Daemon sends Rhaenyra a letter from Harrenhal (in the books he is already there) that says-
“An eye for an eye, a son for a son. Lucerys shall be avenged”.
B&C sneak into the Tower of the Hand, which is not guarded as heavily as Maegor’s Holdfast, where Aemond was, and they head for Alicent’s chambers, who is getting ready for bed (Criston and her are not a thing in the book). Helaena and her three children (Jaehaerys, Jaehaera, and Maelor, who was not present in the show version) visit Alicent’s chambers each night before bed, and were just about to visit. When they get there, they find Alicent tied to the bed and her bedmaid strangled. Blood bars the door and Cheese takes Maelor and tells Helaena to choose which son of hers will die. Helaena pleads that they kill her instead but they refuse, siting- “An eye for an eye, a son for a son. A wife is not a son.”
Cheese tells her that if she does not choose then Blood will grape her daughter and they will kill everyone in the room. Eventually, Helaena chooses Maelor, her younger son. Maybe it was because she thought he would be too young to understand , or perhaps it was because the elder boy, Jaehaerys, was Aegon’s first born and heir. Cheese holds Maelor up and whispers to him-
“You hear that, little one, your momma wants you dead”.
In one clean motion, Blood strikes of the older boys-Jaehaerys’s-head, and the two take off with it. When the guards finally burst through the door, they find Helaena grasping her son’s headless body to her, mad with grief.
So yeah, Blood&Cheese is much more tame in the show.

I was watching a stream about this episode and they were book readers and they said that in the book, the way it end there was much more harsher than what we saw. Daemon basically said to the two guys "a son for a son. kill one, let everybody else alive". So there was two sons(intead of a boy and a girl) and he asked the mom "who do you want killed?" she pick one and then the killer said "you see your mother hates you!" and then killed the other! (basically cut his head clean off)pretty insane

Yeah! in the books Aegon and Helaena had three children, the twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and a younger son Maelor. In fact, Alicent was also present, after taking up residence in the Tower of The Hand. Once inside, Blood and Cheese bound and gagged the Dowager Queen, and blood strangled her bedmaid.
Helaena brought her children to their grandmother every night before bed. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera were six, and Maelor was 2. When Helaena arrived, Blood barred the door and killed the guard. When Helaena demanded who the men were, they responded, “Debt collectors. An eye for an eye, a son for a son. We only want the one”. Helaena pleaded with the men to kill her instead, but they said a wife was not a son. Cheese warned her to make a choice before blood would grow bored and gr@pe Jaehaera. Helaena chose Maelor, thinking maybe he was too young at 2 to truly understand, or because Jaehaerys was Aegon’s heir.
Cheese taunted Maelor, “You hear that? your mother wants you dead.” Then blood slew Jaehaerys, taking his head off with a single blow. And both disappeared. When the guards bursted into the room, they found Helaena still screaming and holding the body of her dead son. Safe to say, the book version was far more traumatic and shocking then the show. Although im just happy that we got anything at all.

If you thought this end was bad, in the book it’s waaay more brutal. There, Helaena actually has 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl and Alicent is also present and all the kids are awake. They make Helaena choose which of the two boys to die, she chooses the younger one and then they tell him ‘Your mother hates you and wants you dead’ and then proceed to decapitate the other one in front of them. So yeah, I’m guessing HBO decided not to show a 4-year-old get decapitated in front of his mother, grandmother and siblings on live television.

They're just not as prevalent in the story, but House Velaryon was pledged to Stannis until Blackwater, and House Hightower are besed in Oldtown and are bannermen to the Tyrells. In fact, Alerie Hightower is the wife of Mace Tyrell and mother of Loras and Margaery.

I don’t think daemon ever would’ve realistically put such a difficult task as killing aemond into the hands of an idiotic brute and a rat catcher.

House Velaryon and House Hightower still exist in timeline of Game of Thrones. Neither really appear in the HBO show but both are featured in the A Song of Ice and Fire books and are certain to have larger roles in the next book Winds of Winter. The Hightowers continue to rule Oldtown and the Velaryons retain control of Driftmark. In the books, the Velaryons are one of the few houses to declare for Stannis but are captured at the Battle of the Blackwater and bend the knee to Joffrey. Cersei names a Velaryon bastard, Aurane Waters, as Tommen's Master of Ships. He then steals the royal fleet and becomes a pirate. The Hightowers are being mysterious, old Lord Leyton Hightower and his daughter "the Mad Maid" are studying books of magic at the top of the Hightower and have not left in a decade. They are being set up play a major role in Euron Greyjoy's impending sack of Oldtown.

The reason why the Gold Cloak/ City Watch member let Daemon in is because the City Watch remains loyal to Daemon. The City Watch was pretty much a joke until Daemon took command of it, so they pretty much owe a lot to him and hold him in high regard.
You can look back at that first episode to hear Daemon kind of talking to the Gold Cloaks before they did that rampage punishing the “criminals.” I think there was also a bit in Season 1 where they mention the City Watch’s loyalty to Daemon even though he stopped being the official Commander of the City Watch.
