They did an incredible job on this restoration! The attention to detail is spot on from the original. I think the owner has a couple other former FDNY rig's they're working on.
Ahh yes back when fire trucks were fire trucks and not super technical half computer and stuffed to the gills... now granted we need all that equipment and things nowadays but man I still wish for the days of old sometimes... especially when its going to cost my department 700k for a basic ETA XD
I'd say at least half were these lowrider rear mounts used in the 70's early 80's newer model rear mounts came out .143 ladder companies in FDNY very tight inside i remember hanging out the window on the side to sit down I'm 6"2".

My father was in ladder 38.eng.88 Raymond Camacho 7.div and 18.batt
They moved the tilling bucket to the side of the apparatus so that the tillerman can't mess up the driver.
What was the "phone booth" used for?
It was for the extra firefighter.
