I WAS THERE AT THE SIDE OF THE MAT !..just had my photo taken with him and Jacks before he went on and got GOLD !. Happy memories !.....and great times for Judo !.
LOL! Neil is a horrible commentator! He butchers all the Japanese terminology, as well as the Japanese competitor's names! I have to mute my TV when he's commentating! Other than that, I like Neil.
@@nidgeontour257 I think that has more to do with Neil being a former world champion and well-known and respected figure in the sport. IF he learned how to pronounce the Japanese terminology and names of the athletes, he could be a decent commentator as well... but that's a huge "IF"! Judo is Japanese, so the terminology is Japanese, and a good commentator must be able to say the terminology properly. (If you're British, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about, because you likely say "uchi-matter", hairy-goshies", "ickywacky" and the like! LOL! No offence.)
@@marty6522 he’s from the midlands so there is a regional accent thing going on here. I say Uchi mata like Uchi marter sounds like garter but I’m from London so a bit posh! 😬🤣🤣
this was a beautiful display of what Judo is! Tachi, nage waza , throwing into Katame-waza, oseame (grappling mat work,,pins) at its best. it showed all aspects oseamekomi waza finshing to kansetsu waza. beautiful. the attack to follow through. wow. thanks for post.
yep and I was there when it happened !!...just had my photo taken with and Brian Jacks before he went on the mat and won !!...a great experience !..... happy memories in Judo !
What is so ironic is the tech that he took him down with to get the juji was the same left hand Seoi that lost Adams the gold 3 yrs laterbat the 84 Olympics. the German transitioned to it from a failed right handed technique and Neil got caught wrapped up, I was gutted at the time for him, but he's still my hero in the Judo world, beautiful technician.
Why do people always have to ruin a video by blaring stupid music over the top of it?? Can't even turn it up to hear the commentary because that turns the "uncalled for" music up. Thumbs down i'm afraid, for an otherwise excellent upload....
Actually, the rules still allow it "as long as you make progress". This whole "they don't let you fight in the ground" is a self fulfilling prophesy. The more it spreads, the more people (refs included) believe that they have to stop newaza asap.
He did that to me in a training session ,I tapped before he got the armlock on 😂😂😂mind you I was only 60kgs at the time and that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it .
The standup only Judo community needs to wake up! If you can't fight on the ground, that's your fault. Judo and BJJ use the same chokes, submissions, and ground positions. The fighter with a more tools in his toolbox has more to work with in a tournment. Right?

Being both British and Japanese, this match fills me with upset and extreme joy. Very confusing lol. So much respect for Adams
Met Neil at a master class at the Budokwai in London in 2023. Great guy and teacher! I wonder what happened to Kase?
The youngster Neil Adams is now a top coach and commentator!

@@marty6522 No he’s the best, that’s why he keeps getting invited back to do more commentary.

送り襟締めからの十字固めは何度見ても素晴らしい。観客からは見えない所でいろんな技術を駆使しているのでしょうね。アダムス選手の完全な型ですね。

awesome... its nice to see the whole fight rather than just the clip!!!
Beautiful display of true Judo ne-waza. This is exactly what's missing in today's modern Judo. Sad... but I hope modern Judoka's wake up.

Beatiful, the guy was awesome in both areas, loved is Tai Otoshi .
Awesome!!!!!
I don't understand why he didn't get a score for the initial throw that follows into the groundwork.
There is a saying floating around which goes something like 'Fear not the man who uses 1000 techniques, fear the man who uses 1 technique 1000 times'

What a massacre. Sheer dominance from Neil Adams.
Wow, I never knew the guy who drew the best batman, was a pajama wrestler!

He would have smashed Royce and rickson
He did. At one of his courses Rickson attended.
