    Great job as always! Can I ask if you had ever try the" 4 towers"list for skaven? What's your thoughts about it?

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад +3

      Last season I ran a list with Thanquol, Skreech, Warbringer, and Hell Pit as a big 4 and it did great! For the current season that style of list can still win, but into some of the top meta matchups it can be a struggle to hold objectives + score tactics.

  • @zachboyce9728

    List thoughts on that stormvermin slot, a block of 40 clanrats could be an interesting shout. Swapping the artifact to give a grey seer skavenbrew turns them into a shockingly effective hammer (basically the same output as plague monks or PCBs especially with a curse which is very reliable off of the furnace). Could even think about a grey seer general with shaman to add hoarfrost to your tool belt.

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад

      Thoughts on those:
      - More Clanrats is always a good choice that would definitely work, I just personally like lists that can fight a little better.
      - Skavenbrew is a solid shout, right now I like the Fumigatious to help turn the Furnace into more of a threat. If I stick with the Stormvermin I'll give Skavenbrew a shot though.
      - I like the Furnace General since it's usually in range to command everyone, and the Battle-Lust command trait helps the deepstrike/skitterleap charges be a lot more reliable.

    • @zachboyce9728
      @zachboyce9728 5 месяцев назад

      @@warpfireminis makes a lot of sense! Lot of preference on how reliant you want to be on curse. With a curse off the clanrats and stormvermin do essentially the same damage (higher on stormvermin by a little bit), but if you’re wanting to use that prayer for AoE MW etc probably not worth the swap. And I would agree that with a list leaning more into 9” charges that extra reroll matters a ton (I tend to play more bait and counterpunch without too many teleports).

    • @zachboyce9728
      @zachboyce9728 5 месяцев назад

      @@warpfireminis also just a small thing, but the furnace is a totem anyway, so doesn’t have to be the general for commands

    Great recap. I'm learning a lot more about Skaven tactics and general AoS Strategy here, than watching people play normally. Are you ever using Grey seer; Warpstone tokens to cast the blizzard or always normal rolls hoping for boxcars with primal dice as backup?

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад +1

      If I don't have any Primal Dice I'll throw a 3D6 Grey Seer cast at it in a pinch. Usually Blizzard is a big enough swing though that I'll save the primals for it.

    Have you ever considered taking Rogors in your army? Right now my list has either 2x4 or 1x6 Rogors. Ik it wouldn’t fit with this build cuz it would fuck up the grand Strat taking moulder but I just find that they are so good that I don’t mind building into them. If turn one u can get lucky and fully buff then up (cuz ur outta unbind) then ur looking at 20 attacks 1s to hit (2s with 6s exploding), 2s to wound, minus d3 2 damage. Getting very similar to pcbs but will get in much more reliably, have death frienzy and be much more tanky. Then u get the whole unit back when they die (hopefully).

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад

      I've played lots of games with Rogors and they're great! Honestly it's just the grand strat problem that has kept me away this season. To run a Moulder it's pretty much forcing you into running Spellcasting Savant with a Grey Seer which is still decent, but just not as strong of a Grand Strat as I'd like. Definitely looking forward to 4th and Grand Strats going away!

  • @randykeeling1916
    @randykeeling1916 5 месяцев назад

    @19:55 you pile in away from the Flayers to sneak into combat with the character. Maybe its camera angle but it looks like that model moves away from the Flayers to do that. 12.2 Pile-In is towards the nearest enemy unit, not model, thats 40k.

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад

      For Sigmar it's each one of our models has to pile-in to the closest enemy unit, so that Stormvermin model on the edge was closest to the Arch-Regent which enabled it to pile that way while remaining coherent!

    Any tips on running Thanqoul? I really love the model but not sure how he would fit into an army

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад +3

      Right now I think the value Thanquol brings is his +3 (or +4) to cast/unbind (bring an Endless Spell!), the double commands, the D3 heal end of combat, and then depending on your meta I'm most likely making him full melee. With the full melee set up he hits harder than Skreech and can really surprise people.
      I'm on team Skreech right now for the extra movement, ability to be Skitterleap'd, Clanrat summoning, and ability to Scurry Away. Hopefully 4th turns both into rock stars!

    • @Definitely.not_0li
      @Definitely.not_0li 5 месяцев назад

      @@warpfireminisI like the idea of taking thaquol because of all the cool stuff u just said and how 2 command can also act like ur furnace ability where I can have 4 shots at making it in. And honestly I can see myself sacrificing screech spell for that but another big problem (ur list has the same) is that if I do I still need my two other grey seers for three clawsteps but they become a lot more redundant. Also last tourney I went to Skreech was by far MVP cuz of how well he does late game.

  • @massqueraider

    How did the flayer pile in when there was one left out of combat to then be in combat for retreat and charge tactic? You can't pile in unless you're in combat or charged. Was it because the vermin got him back into combat again?

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад

      That one was just a mistake on my end! My opponent left that Horror in combat to help him score a battle tactic the next turn; I caught it when I went to his turn and brought the Battle Tactic up, so I just fixed it real quick. Good catch!

    Morbheg knights have 3 wounds not 4 so 2 knights should have died to the bubonic blightplague, I play FEC and skaven and I know you’re saying FEC are a hard match up but I’m really struggling playing with FEC, I win much more with skaven, not sure what I’m doing wrong with FEC lol

    • @warpfireminis
      @warpfireminis  5 месяцев назад +1

      He had warded some to keep one alive!
      As far as doing well with FEC I think it comes down to what kind of list you're running and then playing to it's strengths while making sure you keep your heroes alive. Royal Beastflayers do a surprising amount of damage and can be a real problem to shift, Crypt Horrors do WAY more damage than they should for the points, and Morbheg are a great tool for speed + punch. All of that is something most armies can still deal with, but the recursion is what sets FEC apart for sure between the half a unit coming back and the Chalice. I'm getting pretty long-winded here haha, but feel free to shoot me a message on our Discord and I can get in a little deeper!
