I always disliked those shirts. So dorky. It's cool if you like them, but I would rather show my dorkiness in other areas than just wear it on a shirt.

Almost like they their audience: People who buy special editions of consoles don't usually play them.
Sony did the same with the Playstation Classic. The selection of games was eh and the emulation is not great but the box itself is very reminiscent of the original PlayStation packaging.

Scott The Woz feels like a character that Scott plays based on himself, but Scott’s Stash just feels like Scott Wozniak’s RUclips if you catch my drift.
That’s basically just an overly complicated way to say scripted vs non scripted.

Ironically enough, I like to listen to these videos while playing RPGs 😅. They give me something else to listen to while leveling up or money farming, and I get to learn some fun facts about random games and consoles, so it’s a win-win 👍.

The GBA SP version of the nes model truly was perfect. They should've just copied it instead of doing that dumb stuff on the 3DS

Yes, this. The external design mimiced the console, while the internal mimicked the controller! It's brilliant!

The designs looking upside down when opened was the reason I held back from replacing my base small 3DS for a while. When that Zelda edition came out I got it immediately. It's perfect. The Triforce logo being upside down makes sense for that game so it doesn't look dumb opened or closed!

This model was the one I bought as my first 3ds as a teen. I still have it. It's a little busted up but it still chugs along fine. I think I even put CFW on it. The 3ds is still the best handheld for me it just felt great.

I love 3DS with CFW on it. It can do a LOT. But “fells great”? Ehhh, I’d argue it’s one of the most uncomfortable handhelds out there. My hands cramp up after about an hour of use. The Vita, OG Gameboy, Switch, all of them fell better… but maybe you aren’t talking about how it feels literally.

Had to go with the SNES Themed NEW 3DS XL one myself. It is just so damn sexy.
When I was looking to replace my old 3DS I went for a used New Galaxy Style XL, but now I kinda wish I had shelled out the little bit extra for the SNES one, lol. Love my 3DS though, with CFW probably the best handheld ever made.
I got the Famicom themed one recently. My dream spec for the 3DS. It looks so good imo
A translucent purple game boy color edition would be awesome. Maybe for the 15th anniversary of the GBC

Welp.
This wouldn't be awful if it wasn't for the GBA SP NES edition. They put so much effort into it, then barely tried to replicate the quality for the 3DS XL special edition. I also kind of wish the Famicom GBA SP had as much effort as the NES one, but the Famicom Game Boy Micro absolutely makes up for it tenfold.
They put more effort into the box than into the console itself, for Christ's sake

The 3Ds had so many cool special editions and as someone who never got to have one I was always so jealous
Scott The Woz, the only person to not only care about the AR cards, but also complain about packaging being changed in a different 3ds model for the AR cards.
I still think the NES Edition of the 3DS XL has some value because the other special editions of the 3DS XL, except for the Zelda one, are either all black or all white in the inside.
The Zelda one is golden with black buttons and the NES one is gray with red buttons, so it gets bonus points for being more unique.
Even this version of Scott’s content goes in-depth and teaches some cool facts. A true perfect secondary channel.

bought one of these second hand, the previous owner never signed in to a nintendo account, and their ambassador program certificate (allowing the GBA downloads) had not been tied to account/console. very cool when i did a transfer to a n2ds xl , the certificate came along to the new system and i sold the NES edition
14:55 It gets even worse when you notice that the Zelda 3DS he showed off earlier _got it right_ and displays the Hyrule/Lorule Triforce the correct way when it's unfolded - so that basically confirms that the designs were all intentionally made like that

This is a super cool limited version of the 3DS XL. I love how it seems that they even patterned the front of the box to look like a topside view of the old NES front-loader.
This did before for the Game Boy Advance SP, as well (and that was also a really cool-looking limited edition).
God even Scott’s unscripted jokes are hilarious. I love these videos on the second channel!
Content getting better and better
regardless of the top and bottom, I _really_ like how the buttons look, on both the Snes n3ds and the Nes 3ds
He talks about how the designs on the back of the screens being designed to look good when it is closed and in your hands but I feel the gold zelda 1 was designed to look best open. The triforce underneith mirrors the top triforce and I feel that is a really cool thing since the zelda game it is connected to had a dark, mirrored world and is ment to be seen from the other end. Most arn't like that but I feel that one is.
i was very lucky to find that Zelda Triforce 3DS XL in an incredible condition at Retropalooza last year! It was a system the vendor had actually used like many of the ones for sale, but he really cared for all them even after moving on from them. The Triforce 3DS still came in the box and he even still had the plastic wrap for the system inside! One of the best after market purchases I have ever made, as it is now my main 3DS.

I love that even though it's specifically themed around A Link Between Worlds with the black bottom to match that game's logo, it looks like a general Zelda design that could fit any Zelda fan even if they don't like that particular game

The reason why they did that is because the box designed like an nes and the 3DS has a decal of the controller which I think is kind of cute

The part around 14:51 with the design being flipped when its open and seen by other people reminded me of Apple's Macbooks which had the Apple logo flipped at some point for a similar reason so the logo is the right side up while its open.
You're correct. The Game Boy Micro Famicom had a 2P Faceplate from Club Nintendo Japan
This definitely isn’t as good as the NES GBA or the SNES New 3DS, but this is my current 3DS that’s been with me for years so I have a soft spot for it
I have most of the 3DS models in my collection and personally this is one my favorite editions. But to each their own eh? Cheers!

I had a zelda 3ds xl and I had it in a carrying case with a bunch of games and it was stolen at school. That special edition now haunts me. Seeing the two triforces fills me with dread.

I like this design. The way they put the NES controller on the front to mimic the rectangular design of the original controller is pretty clever imo, and as someone who doesn't mind how it looks in public, I find it looks great for those few moments where I'm carrying it closed or when im opening up the system. Could've definitely mirrored the design on the interior though

I bought the Super Nintendo new 3DS XL right when I saw Scott's video where he showed his version. One of my favorite things I own.
I don't care if Scott puts a carpet on a table to record these videos. In my heart, he _does_ record these videos on the floor dammit!
If you get the opportunity you should pick up a Pal snes 3DS or Famicom 3DS as they’re the best ones because of the curved shapes on both consoles you get edge to edge design! Plus coloured buttons inside.
I think the best Nintendo special edition is DEFINITELY the hylian shield 2ds XL
I have 4 3DSes (original black, this one, the Galactic New 3DSXL and the green and black New 2DSXL) And this NES themed oned is my favorite

I remember when Japan and Austrailia already had the New 3DS and everyone else wanted to know when we would get it in North America, Nintendo basically went "buy more 3DSs lol" and gave us this. then two months later New 3DS actually comes out in america and europe

You're echoing exactly how I felt at the time. I was so mad, because I loved the NES GBA design, and with this one they just put no effort into it. Literally they could have just copied what they did with the GBA and it would have been a homerun.
