The more I watch Peter's reviews the more I want to watch Peter's reviews. He has a real feeling of in depth knowledge which emulates through the information and the videos themselves are quite fun, particularly the latest ones. On to the motorhome, rarely do I see a vehicle which is used by more than 2 people and then if there are children the privacy aspect is usually not an issue as they have flown the nest by the time they are concerned! There are some good features on this vehicle. I think you never get a vehicile which is completely to your taste and requirements, there are always compromises. For me, one of the most important is sound insulation or conversion insulation. Nobody wants to hear incessant noise with very little in the vehicle. I hope that Peter will be able to review some more of the Pilote range or even it's cousins Joa and Bavaria. What an amazing channel.
Thanks so much for your comments. We have reviewed some Pilotes and a Joa Camp but not Bavaria, which is no longer sold in the UK. Have you seen these? ruclips.net/video/anaWOIbptcc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/-oCRfvtNFOY/видео.html ruclips.net/video/jOtLEwiBnzI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/gauG2UWlXy8/видео.html The market for family motorhomes is on the up, even if kids (grandchildren) are not always on every trip. A lot more families are buying motorhomes, too. If the market didn't want them, makers wouldn't include the extra drop-down berths. Glad you like the channel - spread the word!
I can see why they did it but it does rather fall into the chocolate fire guard category. If it was my van I speak nicely to my neighbour and get her to run me up a full length blackout curtain. There are pros and cons about a privacy curtain, on one hand it might stop the occupant being woken up by somebody from the back making a visit to the loo but it would be rather claustrophobic for some people.
Compared to some of the VW campers we regularly see this van is actually really good value for money. Why don't they just put lockers at the other end of the beds (admittedly losing some cupboard space) so that you can sit up to read in bed at night and have cup of tea or coffee in the morning?
Another great review. Your style is pitched just right warts and all. Agree with you on the bedroom cupboards that ant the huge table would be a deal breaker.
This is our actual motorhome (we bought it from SMC and clearly it’s the one that they loaned you for the review from the showroom. We obviously added a number of items (solar/lithium set up, TV in the cupboard that was designed for it by the kitchen, we opted for ALKO auto levelling and added a Wi-Fi solution and some LED’s and extra sockets and USB’s where we felt they were needed). We’ve now done about 20 nights in it and a few modifications are being done over winter (we’re having a door put on seat unit by the door so that we can easily put shoes away from the doorway, we’re having garage storage sorted to carry everything in an organised way as well as fixing our 2 electric bikes away neatly). We will be having a better full length curtain made but in truth, as there are only 2 of us we hardly use it and opening the toilet door provides changing privacy when we need it. Overall we’re really pleased with it (we had a T6 camper and caravan previously) obviously there are a few compromises but I can see a couple of years of great adventures in it. We’re logging our adventures on our channel ‘Daws On The Road’. We’re new to this blog business but we’ll get there. Thanks for the review - I think you captured it very well
Thank you for the message. I think you'll have a great time with your Knaus Live I. The only thing I really wasn't keen on was the height of the oven but, generally, it seemed a very well-built 'van at a sensible price.
Another good review, of a well built motorhome . Found the half curtain sketch funny, but could be a bit of a problem if your shearing with Another couple.
Great review, thanks Peter! Enjoyed seeing your bare legs too! You have in depth knowledge, and point out the shortcomings as you go along. Good British sense of humor too!
It's quite funny to hear 75K GBP to be called not bad while next year is going to add another 4K... cause we have the same mindset here in the old continent amid soaring prices. I can't really understand if it's an acceptance problem or we're really out of this world. Besides I'd really like to understand why that Dometic Toilet is superior compared to, ahem... the market leader? Because the market leader T. was making practically the best plastic toilet of them all since... I don't remember, probably around 1992. And it was the same, unchanged, solidly built, you could sit on, simple magnet level, button shaped flush. And what did they do to face the first real competition they have in decades? They made a cover which bows in when you sit on it, they made the flush button flat so that you don't find it when they'll inevitably install it behind your back and they changed the very clear full tank RED light indicator with a mechanical eyelet that changes color on top of the cassette system. Might as well have a look inside? Peak a boo!? Oh look who there is... I ate you two days ago! Just... NO.... NO!! They could have made an integrated forced air-venting like a SOG, to sell for a premium price, but no... they made it worse. That's progress... they just forgot to aim it in the forward direction.
I agree on prices. Can't believe how much they have gone up - but then so has food, diesel, electricity... Surely we need some back-to-basics affordable models. I loved the idea of Hobby's Beachy Van camper but it has been shelved for now because of chassis availability. Pity.
Please could you let me know which European A-Class motorhome manufacturers offer a 'UK handed' version for the UK market (i.e. with the residential door on the left/off-side, and A-Class driver's door changed for RHD)? I believe Mobilvetta is one such company - but are there others?

Had to laugh at that half curtain. Great, informative review as usual Peter.

Pleased to cause some laughs. Can't take it all too seriously!

I think it's a case of designers not actually using motorhomes, as well as cupboards being shared across different layouts/models.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. Look very nice for a medium sized Motorhome
Thanks. Hope you've subscribed?
Nice Van Peter, that bedroom curtain made me howl with laughter. Cheers K.
Great. Hoped to cause a few laughs!
Great review once again, thanks Peter.
Thank you. Appreciated

Glad you like the reviews
Excelent review as normal. Just wanted to say great job from whoever edits these videos.
I'll pass on your comments to Martin, our expert video editor
Great on point review , don't know any others who have the curtain , most others have a door divide
Excellent review once again. Detachable bonnet, I can see that ending in tears. Them rear lights on all Knaus vehicles are hideous.
Thank you!

@@MotorhomeCampervan thanks - I agree but most cooking is done outside and at 6ft 2 the oven isn’t too bad. 👍

Yes, completely agree. You might appear more "friendly" than you wanted to!

with the sat nav, does it take into consideration the van size ? do they take your comments on board.
I would hope so with the sat-nav - not all do.
Some makers listen, others less so...
That curtain was just enough not to put me off my food!
Glad you could still eat...

Also Roller Team and, at a very different price point, some Morelo models. Auto-Trail's UK-built Grande Frontier, too, of course
is it available in a 4by4?
No, although Knaus does offer its MAN-based Van TI with 4x4
What’s the model called
Knaus Live I 700 MEG
Those legs should come with a government health warning !!! ;)
Sorry, they're the only ones I have and my wife refused to do the shot...
Garage 150 kg , wow , that's not much
Similar to many other models, though. Hymers are usually 350kg, however.
