Congratulations to Chausson for this vehicle, well done for this award. We had a 2015 728eb, that year the smaller new 710 won this award, with a similar bed that lowers right down. We decided to go for the larger vehicle with the fixed bed and realised the DD Bed only lowered to the top of the seat travel seat backrests. Extremely smart, the bed would be an issue in the real world. Many people will have two layers of pillows for reading the blind will certainly sustain damage, and for tall people a challenge as it would be impossible to have your head at the max with the blind, so anyone over 6ft not good.
Smaller garage than my Adria twin PVC, much less internal light (no barn doors at the back, no side sliding door), less overhead storage cupboards at front, bathroom no better - (toilet gets soaked in this one unlike ours ) - and a much smaller bed, that renders the lounge unusable. And this is progress? I don’t see the point of a lounge equipped to seat 6, in a van that is capable of carrying 4, but in all likelihood will be used by 2 people for 95%+ of the time.
The Adria Twin is great but it has a huge number of rivals and many UK buyers find the lounge too small in this type of vehicle. A lot of owners like more room to put their feet up, sprawl, etc.
I'd prefer the Adria too. If you're traveling long distances and need 40 minutes kip pop off the shoes and the beds already for a lie down. I'd worry about all these electric beds/wardrobes as the warranty passes too.
@@MotorhomeCampervanI agree the lounging area is smaller, but I’d argue these vans are primarily designed for 2 people….2 + 2 small kids at a push. There are 'vans with a microwave instead of an oven but remember that you'll need hook-up (or an expensive inverter and battery upgrade) to run a microwave, so a gas oven is more useful.
Because motorhomes are based on light commercial vehicles where manuals dominate, and because automatic options can be expensive - anything from £2k to £4k
@@MotorhomeCampervan I appreciate that… but as a UK expat, when I rent a car in UK it is very unusual to find an automatic (without paying high price) whereas on the continent the reverse is the case… as campervan drivers tend to do more miles, they should push for automatics to be standard (and therefore cheaper)… maybe if you bought on the continent, the price differential would reverse. (And it would be easier for you to come for holidays over here- I drove a UK car for about a month before ditching it for a LHD)
I would have preferred to keep the "stupid mirror board" because the window is opposite and there are too many windows, including the one in the door. Each window adds thermal bridges in winter and is a source of overheating in summer. Plus, this window is a nuisance when sleeping because either your feet or your pillow "escape" into the window and you're ruining those blinds at night. One window was sufficient
I haven't checked any savings on the Continent but these are usually swallowed up by extra spec on UK models (oven etc), the higher price of a RHD chassis and transport costs to the UK
Not sure. The kettle socket, high up, is probably too far away to reach the kettle, by standard lead, on the work surface. The socket in the garage is just silly. Not enough kitchen working surface, though the table could be utilised. No microwave. And, the dressing room is pointless. And, if one goes to bed there doesn’t appear to be a spare seat for the other. The slim width is excellent but, over all the Warwick XL knocks spots off this. Downside for the XL, no garage. Small fridge, though that can be dealt with.
Why is a socket in the garage silly? Very few vehicles of this size have a microwave, which is because that's just a waste of space when you're not hooked up. You obviously love your Warwick XL but every 'van has its compromises - such as the fixed, heavily tinted and single-glazed windows on the Warwick... No garage? So, where are you keeping your outdoor gear?
The European spec is just a two-burner hob (and more storage). Chausson has chosen a cooker for the UK that's still extremely popular here as it includes a full-sized oven and a grill
@@MotorhomeCampervan It’s the same width. We specifically chose it because it was a narrow cosy built as we were upgrading from a van based design. Ours does have a bigger fixed garage which we need for bikes. I’m sure the interior will be proportioned to the different tasks differently as that where the compromises have to be to get it all in a sub 7m platform.
I‘d go for the Giottiline 350 anytime. a lot cheaper, a lot more room, same length and a standalone big shower. Bigger Bed and the cushions stay where they are. These funny electric gadgets just make this car more expensive and there’s more stuff for expensive repairs.
Motorhome bubble has burst. Won’t get away with outrageous list prices this year. Elddis laying off staff is an indicator. Hopefully a second hand bargain soon.
Don't bet on it. Chassis and component costs are high, staffing costs, electricity etc not getting cheaper. And secondhand prices are kept up by new vehicle prices

How to display your trade plates When you display trade plates, you must: put them on both the front and back of the vehicle, or just the back for motorcycles make them visible and easily readable from a distance of 20 metres put them on the outside of the vehicle not cover the existing number plates, unless it’s a motorcycle
Why on earth wouldn’t you go 180 hp and automatic as standard. 140 and manual for this is way too low. You’ll end up burning more fuel than the auto. Adding these as extra doesn’t make this cost-effective option. There is so much competition today and configuring a manual underpowered powertrain to an incredible internal proposition is not the best way forward. These are options that you can’t easily change in the future. I would rather have an overpowered economical unit and poor cabin because this can be easily rectified for little cost vs replacing engine. I live in Australia and a friend of mine had his caravan completely revamped for $7500 cash in hand . In summary, the carpenter took everything that existed and rearranged it. You can’t do that with an underpowered engine and manual gearbox. I know it’s country dependent but in Australia, buying the 2.2 L diesel Fiat is a no no . Anyone with any experience and long-term touring knows this is not an engine to consider.
The Fiat is still a best-seller in Europe and many models that are much bigger than this have 140hp as standard. Autos are popular but Fiat can't supply enough of them

It's more than than that. We asked Stellantis for the differences and they told us - A different turbocharger, a variable swirl, different air duct in the cylinder head to cope with the intake manifold without variable swirl. Also, remapping a brand-new 'van will invalidate your warranty.
appreciate the clarification - you often hear that they downgrade the performance so they can charge you for the upgrade, this is clearly not the case here@@MotorhomeCampervan
The chairs in the living area do not look very comfortable...and since I would have my ass parked so often in them it would be enough to put me off this motorhome- who cares about the bloody adjustable wardrobe.
It's a lovely van but I do not see anything groundbreaking about it. But perhaps I am a little biased as I prefer rear lounges. Great review by the way- love your videos.
Nobody - I certainly wouldn't. Quite the worst lavabogatory setup I've seen. How this got Motorhome of the Year, I cannot fathom. Loads of style, no substance.
Very few drop-down beds are 1.60m wide and none in a 'van this small. No, Chausson is mainstream rather than premium but the price is comparable with other mainstream 2024 models.
UK price is from £76,990, which is very competitive. You can buy bigger for the money but that's not the point. This 'van offers so much in a panel van-sized vehicle.
It really is far from cramped. I can't think of a 'van of this size (only 6.36m long, van width) that is more spacious! Only one blind is of the roll-up type - the alternative would be a shorter bed, so I know which I'd prefer. No, it doesn't have a microwave, but it has a gas oven, which is far more useful because it can be used without hook-up.
It’s like watching David Attenborough, but for campers. 😊

Great review. Thanks. Does any manufacturer make a gas hob with a microwave instead of an oven? An air fryer is more useful than an oven.
There are 'vans with a microwave instead of an oven but remember that you'll need hook-up (or an expensive inverter and battery upgrade) to run a microwave, so a gas oven is more useful.
Why aren’t automatic gearboxes standard???
HOW MUCH IS IT?
Around £80k, depending on spec. Google it and you'll see several at dealers
I suspect that the shower door is held back in the open position for travel to reduce rattling noises on the road.
Quite possibly but it seems a poor solution
@@MotorhomeCampervan Yes, it looks horrible.
I think you're alone in that view but you can never please everyone. Chausson (and us) were barraged with complaints about the lack of a window
Out of my price range unless i can get a right hand drive model in France and save around 10k over the UK price.
I haven't checked any savings on the Continent but these are usually swallowed up by extra spec on UK models (oven etc), the higher price of a RHD chassis and transport costs to the UK
Looks like the rear area is a solution to a problem someone invented.
Surely a variable garage size is useful, depending on needs?
Why do you tease us in the United States, where it is not available?
Sorry. Maybe it'll give your US converters some ideas...
Three pin plugs in kitchen are oddly 😲 positioned. Should be on the wall above the wet area of the drainer...
So, what is the new game?
No garage? So, where are you keeping your outdoor gear?
a French engine! lovely!
Base vehicle is a Fiat...
Fine if you want to go to bed together, or even as a single once you have decided to go to bed you don't want to use the lounge.
There's only so much you can get into a 'van this compact
Love the vehicle but the cooker is dated and not in keeping with the rest of the van. So many modern alternatives to choose from.
The European spec is just a two-burner hob (and more storage). Chausson has chosen a cooker for the UK that's still extremely popular here as it includes a full-sized oven and a grill
I think I will stick with my burstner travel van ltd edition. It does everything this can do but better and it’s the same size
I like the Travel Van but surely your lounge is a lot smaller and your garage is a fixed size. I think your 'van is wider, too
@@MotorhomeCampervan It’s the same width. We specifically chose it because it was a narrow cosy built as we were upgrading from a van based design. Ours does have a bigger fixed garage which we need for bikes. I’m sure the interior will be proportioned to the different tasks differently as that where the compromises have to be to get it all in a sub 7m platform.
Not keen on the east west bed.
I‘d go for the Giottiline 350 anytime.
a lot cheaper, a lot more room, same length and a standalone big shower.
Bigger Bed and the cushions stay where they are.
These funny electric gadgets just make this car more expensive and there’s more stuff for expensive repairs.
The Giottiline is a lot wider which makes a big difference on many UK roads
Motorhome bubble has burst. Won’t get away with outrageous list prices this year. Elddis laying off staff is an indicator. Hopefully a second hand bargain soon.
Don't bet on it. Chassis and component costs are high, staffing costs, electricity etc not getting cheaper. And secondhand prices are kept up by new vehicle prices
Hope the wardrobe doesn’t malfunction while somebody is in it unfortunately it will suffer the same faults as the electric beds.
You'd use this a lot less regularly and there a plenty of happy electric bed owners out there...
This guy goes on a bit
If you want authoritative detail, this is the channel for you, so that you can buy the right 'van. I'm not "going on" - very rude! - but providing you with ALL the info
A lot of packs required.
Only 2 packs here, some are much worse
How can you have 2024 Motorhome of the Year after only six weeks???
Because the motorhome manufacturing season started last June and anything launched from now on will be for the 2025 model year
@@MotorhomeCampervan That explains it - who knew motorhomes had seasons (apart from you). I don't watch a lot of motorhome videos but this just popped up and looked interesting.
How to display your trade plates
When you display trade plates, you must:
put them on both the front and back of the vehicle, or just the back for motorcycles
make them visible and easily readable from a distance of 20 metres
put them on the outside of the vehicle
not cover the existing number plates, unless it’s a motorcycle
Autos are popular but Fiat can't supply enough of them
Great video, very informative..... but.... What's with all the presenters talking like Joe Brand, mixed with Top Gear and Captain Kirk? Is it a new mobile home RUclipsrs talk style?
"This... camper.... has... a.... fullsizetwometerbed. Which...... is........ quite...... comfortable...... Ifyouareatallpersonwhoneedsmorespace.
No one else is complaining....
the cheap window blackout screen, deal breaker
I’m sorry but I have to have a bed
Err, there's a drop-down one
Have just done a part exchange deal for our Chausson to change to a Dreamer by Rapido campervan. Sorry to say but even tho our motorhome had a quirky layout, the quality of a Chausson are absolutely dreadful. Could never recommend one to anyone. Like I say quirky layouts pity about the build quality
Generally Chausson has a pretty decent reputation in the industry. Shame yours disappointed
£3999 to upgrade to 180bhp? That can't be right it's a simple remap.
Any sensible person will just get it independently done for about £300
It's more than than that.
Actually, the lounge is comfy, with plenty of space and including the cab seats too
It's a lovely van but I do not see anything groundbreaking about it. But perhaps I am a little biased as I prefer rear lounges. Great review by the way- love your videos.
Dull video it went on a bit
Or a fully comprehensive review to give potential buyers all the info they need??
@@MotorhomeCampervan no your boring
Love this van but build quality bad so bad. Chausson needs to do better for the money. I’d have it in a blink if they could build quality.
I had absolutely no issues with build quality on this test
please keep the enoying music off the video.
Hands up who will fit on the toilet,,,,,,
Nobody - I certainly wouldn't. Quite the worst lavabogatory setup I've seen. How this got Motorhome of the Year, I cannot fathom. Loads of style, no substance.
Crazy that for £83k motorhome has windows...😮 The new Swift Trekker will be interesting.
BUY BRITISH
Swift Trekker review coming soon. If you've subscribed you'll get notification
Not a chance … I only buy on quality and value, not on nationality.
Again : The bed is to small. It has to be 160 wide, that is the minimum. And for a chausson to expensive , it is Not premium
Very few drop-down beds are 1.60m wide and none in a 'van this small.
No, Chausson is mainstream rather than premium but the price is comparable with other mainstream 2024 models.
Always amazes me how people pay more for less...
"Compact" is such a marketing tool that fools fall for....🤦🏻♂️😆
Compact is about being able to park easily and drive on country lanes without scratching the side of your 'van or damaging your door mirrors...
@@MotorhomeCampervan that’s the best you can up with for the extortionate prices?
Laughable 🙄
Is no one talking about the Elephant in the room !!!! The price is around 100.000 Euros !!!! for this price I have seen much much much better !!!!!
UK price is from £76,990, which is very competitive. You can buy bigger for the money but that's not the point. This 'van offers so much in a panel van-sized vehicle.
Like What ???
@@VanLife_At_Last Drop-down bed (so no bed-making) as well as a garage. So much more feeling of space than in a panel van.
wot no microwave?, the side window blinds are a poor design, overall it's far too cramped.
