    Really great review and so good to get beyond the marketing pictures. That rear lounge looks much tighter on camera than in other pictures, and I wonder if it would really be great to use without the tailgate down. You didn't show the BBQ, perhaps it is an extra that wasn't fitted? This is a dream motorhome for when my kids leave home and it is just my wife and I seeing a bit of Europe. It gives me a few years to save up, or for the prices to drop a bit.Thanks for the great work, Peter.

    This is a beautiful coach. I could flood you with comments of what I like.
    My only "negative" comments are:
    1. With the exception of the corner cutout, is the mattress a standard size that you can get standard linen?
    2. I wish the rear lounge area could be transformed in a bigger, two adults bed. In a long trip, you will need sleep at the city in a stealthy way. It will be complicated or prohibited to sleep in a car.
    For a couple is almost perfect. But it will be great a longer version for a family of 4. Meaning 2 additional seats in the rear with seatbelts, a the lounge to become a queen size bed.

    Peter, you are the best MH journo and this was a great review.
    It’s rare I can’t complain about a new MH but this is one here. Being picky, I would want more storage for off grid but it could be used with the box behind. I assume the finished vehicle will have mossie screens to the bedroom window. Then there is the price but you didn’t expect such an excellent new product to be half the price! 😂

    It would be a dream motor home if it were a little longer and had a second bed downstairs. That rear bench would be perfect as a second bed and you could invite a few more friends to come in for tea too when you're at the camp site and it starts raining. As a kitesurfer, I also hope that the outside storage box is long enough to fit my surf board etc inside. In fact, this vehicle would be great for long trips with a few mates of the family so you'd need somewhere to store a few more kite bags and boards 😊

    The extras and options ended up being in abundance. For that price you could buy a tiny house on wheels with a better upstairs and still leave money in the piggy-bank for the towing vehicle. IMO few are those who would spend that sort of money would then go off-roading frequently. It is the kind of vehicle for those who want to show off their Icon piece of equipment. Peter did an excellent job as usual.

    What’s not to like? It would be nice to see accessories though. An insulated dark cover to wrap around the elevated sleeping area that also reduces outdoor noises. Slimline Cup holders that slide out from below table tops. Utilise the space in front of the steps by adding a storage box that can be pivoted around out of the way from the steps when using them, this would be an added valuable storage space solution. There is so much room for improvements, on an already clever and needed design. Well done Hymer!

    What an amazing vehicle using some of the ideas like the drop down back from 'House Trucks' from the seventies.
    You forgot to mention when you open the draw to the right hand side of the kitchen this has a slot in top which adds a wing to increase work top area.
    Will be interesting to see other manufacturers adapting their ideas from the old boring designs and bringing new innovation to the market.
    When we see the amazing modern boat and aeroplane designs today which optimise space and make them look beautiful it's only then you realise how old fashioned 99% of motorhomes are.
    Notice the curvacious look of the whole vehicle which makes it look very attractive. Having only designed one motorhome which had fold up a roof terrace for 20 people used the same principle. The idea being a woman's curvacious body, therefore the more curves and flowing lines you design into a vehicle the sexier it looks.
    Looks like this principle has been applied throughout the Venture S at every possible opportunity with outstanding success so congratulations to all the designers who have worked tirelessly and achieved near perfection...

    If you were in the market with £200k, then RP Motorhomes, would come-out on top. This just looks top-heavy (Like an old UK Military Land-Rover Ambulance) that could easily roll, especially in high winds!
    Personally, would rather buy a normal branded Camper Van (Say a Swift Carrera), spend £30k, with suspension, wheels, hydraulic self levelling, lithium & solar upgrades, wifi, additional lights with roof-rack as a sitting area on top & still have the perfect van for off-grid living. At least it would be around £100k with all upgrades (The other £100k saved, you could use as your travel budget!). Oh yes, that is what I've done!
    The market for this does not make much sense, though as another viewer commentated, Hymer are betting on the possibility some out there will go & buy this thing! Good luck!

      I feel you are being disingenuous. Yes you save your money. Well done. Firstly you never knew you were saving that money and then whilst you are happy with what you have, this Hymer has genuinely created innovations I have not seen combined into one vehicle. Have you got the auto insulated roof? Have you got bespoke off grid vehicle with DG Glass, and built in protection bodywork? The table is one of the best ones I have seen in a MH. The money is in the detail, technology and hymer quality that I can’t quite imagine any Swift quality regardless of spending the upgrades can never get anywhere near that product. End of…you are happy and saved 100k you reckon but personally wouldn’t want the grief creating what you’ve got when this hymer is done and finished.

    The prototype first shown a few years back had a pull out kitchen/BBQ hidden behind the pull out table. Don't think they should've deleted that outdoor kitchen. Regarding the stairway to the master bedroom, I don't know about that. Is that really a clever use of interior space? A standard ladder would work just fine. I even think they should consider doing a 1 story version, without the loft but with a lifting bed above the lounge. Ditching the loft would free up extra height inside, so that the lounge is usable. I would prefer that over the flip top.

    Cold room tests are done to see if the camper van meets the standard for harsh winter conditions. The standard is called DIN/SS-EN 1646-1 and stipulates that a mobile home needs to be heated from -15°C to 20°C in less than four hours.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  3 месяца назад

      Some heat up much faster than that, some are (I understand) not physically tested but only 'calculated' to pass and many have uneven heat distribution despite the standard.

    Saw this concept about 5 years ago... Having it at almost 200k I gotta see who will actually take it off road excluding the basic flat terrain Glamping families. Comparing this to the earth roamer if I'm paying for it I might as well go big or go home. Earth roamer wins my heart

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  Год назад +1

      As I say in the video, the original concept appeared in September 2019. I can see it being used where standard motorhomes can't go, to inaccessible beaches in the Med' for example.
      The Earthroamer looks impressive but also rather too big for UK roads!

    As much as I love interior design, I'm unsure about the pop-up top. I have spent many nights in 4x4 campervans in the mountains with high winds blowing so much I thought the car would take off, with the whole car shaking like crazy. I don't know what are their specifications for max wind deployment for the top. I would be worried be in it in a windstorm. 320Ah lithium is also on the small side these days. With the power draws most people have, and with the small solar on this van, this will be empty very quickly. No world about insulations of water tanks, batteries heating, etc.

    El diseño es una pasada, pero por el precio tan elevado tiene varios defectos bastante graves:
    - La tracción 4x4 permanente eleva mucho el consumo.
    - No tiene bloqueo del diferencial o reductora, por lo que el 4xx4 es limitado.
    - Podrían haber puesto cocina diesel para que fuera más autónoma en lugar de gas.
    - En lugar de techo elevable, habría puesto una cama elevable encima del salón para proteger el sueño del ruido exterior, y de paso habría ampliado esa zona.
    - Tiene algunos defectos más, pero no son tan graves.
