The three parts in the song that are reversed lyrics are saying the following:
"In their drunken fever states, see them both profoundly; the pyramid in the stone file becomes a spruce tree
    The diamond will tell you where; 1, 19, 7, 1, 18, 4, 9, 19 ("Asgard is")
Landing on the polar star and rushing on to the red room, find the cord to take you to a secret rendezvous"
They are relevant to puzzles in the game and the first is also a spoiler for Alan Wake 2 and the Cult of the Tree and how their symbol came to be.

The dancing around man is Dr. Darling, he is the head of Research in the fictional Federal Bureau of Control in the game. The actor for him is Matthew Porretta and he is the voice of Alan Wake too. The video is a moment in the main character's mind where she imagines that character singing a cover of "Dyna-mite" by Mud and it comes out of nowhere. Remedy (the developer of this game) has that style where humor comes out of nowhere but it fits their games. Also, Remedy has been using real life videos in their games for very long, probably in all of their games but I haven't played them all. I found it weird at first but it really fits the bizarre tone of the worlds they create

Some of the members of poets of the fall are friends of the long time friend of the creative director of Remedy Game studio and they have been in their games since Max payne. So long time ago, not only they made music for the Max Payne, but Marko gave his looks on one of the bad guys in Max Payne called Vlad Lem.

This is one of the trippiest gaming experiences I've ever had!
Basically, in this part of the game, you have to make your way through 'The Ashtray Maze'. You (Jesse) put on a pair of headphones and this song begins. You then run through a series of motel hallways, lobbies and rooms, where the walls, floors and ceilings constantly fold in and out on themselves, making new paths for you to traverse; meanwhile you have to fight a horde of monsters until you get out the other end of the maze!
If you think that sounds weird and more than a little mindbending, it's because it really is... but also, insanely awesome!

I experienced this song in-game a couple of days ago and was wondering whether anyone had reacted to it. The algorithm brought this to me!

The game "Control" exists in the same creative universe as Alan Wake. So when you hear this song, it's the same band that did Herald of Darkness and Dark Ocean Summoning. Control is a great game that puts you in control of a character named Jesse Faden who visits the headquarters of a mysterious government agency called the FBC ("Federal Bureau of Control") to search for her missing brother. It ends up getting A LOT more complicated. Very strange things happen.

A nice mid afternoon break. Like this. Thanks for the song and reaction. Ones like this I wouldn’t go out and look for so it’s cool to hear something I never would have any other way. Take care.

Yay, one of my favourite Old Gods songs. As much as I enjoy the ballads, I usually prefer the harder, faster, rockier style. Not to mention, I love Marko’s growls. Dark Ocean Summoning features them too, but more subtly in the harmonies, which sounds so good as well. 👏 There’s just nothing he cannot do with his voice stylistically, the sky seems to be the limit. Truly a vocal athlete.
As for the way they got involved in doing the music for these games, usually a gaming company contacts a band if they’d like to use a song for a game, you’re right about that. With Poets, it was different though; Marko talked about it in the ”Late goodbye” video you reviewed. Sam Lake, the creative director of Remedy Entertainment (a Finnish company), has been a friend of Marko’s since before they formed Poets of the Fall. Marko once casually offered to write a song for a game should they ever need it, and some time after that Sam took him up on that offer and asked him to write a song for Max Payne 2 which ended up being Late Goodbye. Poets aka Old Gods have been part of several Remedy Games since, not only providing songs with lyrics that tie in with the lore of these games, but especially in Alan Wake the Old Gods presence has increased considerably, with them acting in several scenes and levels throughout the game. Their cooperation with Remedy has helped them immensely to get noticed and sell their music internationally, which certainly isn’t easy to do for an Indie band releasing all of their albums on their own tiny label. Marko’s experience as graphic designer and background in advertising came in handy too.
I think it’s fantastic for them to have Old Gods as alter ego band. The heavy metal style doesn’t suit Poets so much, but as Old Gods, they can go wild and still be themselves. Every band needs fun projects like this to fully explore different creative sides, and keep coming up with fresh ideas.
Thank you for your reactions, I thoroughly enjoy each and every one of them. 🙏👏

Thank you so much for all of this great information. I also think it is so cool that they can have a different persona, and Marco can go metal!

My favorite Old Gods song undoubtedly, easily gets stuck in your head. The edge Marco's vocals have really add to it, especially if you're used to his softer music.
Also it's normally the studio that'll approach a band with a pitch, and I'd wager they probably have a list that they go down if one band says no.
