Another day, another soybean planted. In east central illinois, we are planting hard but lots of rain keeps moving in.
My name is Michael Wendling. I am a 6th generation farmer in East Central Illinois.
We grow white & yellow corn for Frito Lay, and we also grow soybeans.
The family farm was established in 1879.
I hope you enjoy the videos!

We've got a Magnum Rowtrac. They dont ride near as good as you'd expect, but not as bad as a regular Magnum, both in the field, and on the road. The road speed is the biggest drawback. 19 mph is all you can go. Ours is fairly easy to work on because of the single tires on the front, spaced out wide. We mostly sidedress corn with it. I miss our 8310rt John Deere. It was better in every aspect than the magnum
Great looking dirt! Thanks for making the show for all of us wannabe farmers. I am a retired farmer from western Canada.
Tanks for tacking me along Micheal,I've realy enjoyd the ride, and hope in my next life I become a big acres farmer like you folks.
would be cool if we could get BKT's here too and wide tires (wishful thinkin I guess)
Looking good we’re almost done hopefully this week if the rain holds off
May the 4th be with you.
The two tracks ride great in the field and go 25 down the road
Good to know thanks!
Enjoy your videos. Why do you use wheeled tractor to plant corn and tracks for beans?
The quadtrac has 30” belts
What's a bag of corn cost these days? Last year I farmed was 1999, had RoundUp beans but not corn, ran about $75-80 a unit then...
