- what a difference a year makes. last year we were planting in conditions that were not a very good seed bed and you were like crap we're not off to a good start. this year this is probably the nicest seed bed I have had around these seeds in several years along with some nice rain after planting
Another good one keep up the good work
I like your kind of humor, whether it's the whale or the fantastic year we get with wonderfully low prices, keep it up John, I like you
😆😆😆 Perfect way to start the video!
I actually stumbled upon the coalition youtube videos this past week. There are some really good videos on there!
Yes there are!
Thats is so funny, you made my day Jon 😂
Thanks
That’s a bigger washbay than a certain farm
Hope your not getting snow this weekend 😬
It wouldn't be the first time for us but I'm glad it missed us and it stayed up north isn't that a kick in the nuts
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 crazy for this time of the year !
I had trouble with stalk moisture from last year's corn. Didn't know they had corn fed girls in Scotland.
The stalks making the ground wet?
@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 the soil conditions were good. It's very light soils. But the stalks are like wet rotten straw. Harder to cut. Part of this issue is the 325 New Idea picker bends the stalks out so two rows of stalks end up together. I may end up having to chop stalks especially if I don't get a cover crop in. Last year's corn was slow to dry down.
Just a heads up keep an eye on the wing fold pins on our 8222 the bracing for the pin holes was cracked
Oh really?
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 both were on the wing side of the pins it's that little triangle brace plate on the bottom running from the pin to the square beam of the frame
Why no auto steer in the Massey thought you had it in the 4640. Had no response last year with some bw products for myself. Were and mudding stuff in here
It's there, in the strip till the front wonders to much.
What did you try?
Tried meltdown that was every acre last year without a check so I can’t say it didn’t help. Full sun strips throughout 100 acres couldn’t see any difference on monitor
Wait till you find out how they say the Welsh word for Wales! Or the Welsh word for whale (whale = morfil, said like “more fill”)
That's might be a Massey🤔
You got electric or air row clutches?
No row clutches. Just an electric half width
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I didn't realize you could use the section control in the agleader like that. One of these years I'd like to get a 1200 to run my white.
Oh yeah. Not many things that that monitor can't do.
I really want to go to liquid next year for the strip till. one of the reasons is that I could easily add in rate and section control just like a sprayer
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 Liquid is alright for N but is it cost effective at all for p and k?
There are some liquid products that can be competitive on price. But a pound of fertilizer is not a pound of fertilizer and crop removal rate is a great way to write a big check
You having a lie in today Jon? 😅
Are you whales from Scotland??? 😂😂
