What I like of your site,is that there is NO idling chit-chats and you are all business. Your site is all about the fundementals of farming and not about b.s.
"Laziness". Is that all you could come up with? Did you think or consider that some farmers may be on the bones of their arse and can't afford workers or herbicides to do the job? Did you consider that they may be old and at the end of the working careers and may be too old to do the work? Or did you consider that some farmers may be seriously interested in biodiversity and let weeds grow for other species that are in decline. I'm not criticizing Michael and his dad, but they run a farm based on a few monocultures. They plant two or three crops, have grass around their homestead with just some basic trees. Not much else can live on that? Tidiness is what is driving other species to extinction. Some of these farms have to truck pollinators in because they have killed all of the native flowers and plants just to make money on a few crops. If people didn't decimate everything else they would have pollinators in abundance to pollinate their crops. Fuck I hate simplistic answers like yours!
Your animal guard on the outlet is installed incorrectly. They are to be installed 1-2’ inside the pipe with the spikes facing out, able to flip up a little allowing debris out but not in. We farm in nw Illinois. Fixed and installed tile late feb too. We think it’s a first on our farm. Just got 2.5” of rain that turned into 6” of snow. No fun
Do you use GPS controlled auto depth control on the tile plow to ensure that the tile pipe is always running downhill regardless of the terrain surface?

Good luck putting your tile in your field
I have family South of Champane, near Tolono. Very close to your farm. Thanks for the video, you are lucky to be working in February
I have mentioned this before but your farm is top notch operation, and the only reason 90 % of farms have junk and weeds everywhere is shear laziness.
