Remove the stopper, insert gently, twist a 2-3 times, pull out gently…repeat☺️😉
It works for me every time😋
You should have removed the drain stopper first.
Yes, exactly
Women 🙄
It doesn't come out without calling a professional
@@JJ-yn4cj Both those drain stoppers come out without a professional
Always remove the drain cover instead of trying to angle it that sharply, it's less prone to snapping that way.
Or go down the overflow.
I just bought one on Amazon. Delivery is due tomorrow, I want to check some videos on how to use it. Thaaank you for this, at least now I know what not to do! I'll be very gentle to avoid the same mistake.
Side note: I love how we're in a conference room for this video :)
I like mine, it looks similar. Not sure of brand. It has unclogged my drains that are full of hair. But slow and gentle is the key.
These r great for kitchen and wash room sinks where there r p traps to open and remove the snake if it breaks.
The bathtub one has to be very careful.
My advice: spend the extra $1 and get the Cobra brand (Lowe’s sells them). I use them constantly to clean ou the drain after washing my beast of an Irish Wolfhound. They use a much more supple plastic that doesn’t break.
Thanks I'm at Lowe's while reading the comment. I'll buy 2 there are only $2.98
Cant you just wash him outside? Just a recommendation.
@@andria3833 Now, yes. Back when I posted that original comment we were undergoing a major home remodeling and so we were living in a small apartment with no outdoor amenities for dog washing.
What makes the cobra brand better? I saw it at Lowe's website, and it doesn't look too different from the one she showed on the video.
@@orestesdd The reason is summed up in my response above, but here is a slightly longer answer: the Cobra brand seems to have done some actual research on the product and the issues the general population has with drain snakes on a regular basis, and they designed a product that uses a much higher quality plastic resulting in a snake that is firm enough not to buckle under the pressure of forcing it down the drain, but elastic enough not to snap into pieces at the slightest resistance down in your drain.
I'm so glad I found this. I've been trying to search for a video to demo how to use them as ours came with a metal thing but it looks like my magnificent brother-in-law just cleared my shower thanks to your video. Thanks :)
Hello 👋 i hope you're safe over there? Happy new month I hope this month brings happiness prosperity love and peace 💞❤️🕊️🕊️ all over the world 🙏🌍
I'm originally from Canada currently living in Key West Florida and you where are you from if i may ask?
Yes I use those sticks all the time in my house and they work great a lot of people said in the comments to remove a stopper first especially in the bathtub that you did with the stick broke but that's okay that's what that stick is for so you don't have to remove the stopper I just stick the stick down there like you say slowly easily rotate it and then pull it up and it works really good
01:09 that's what he said
How it can go down? Mine just go small length and I feel I have metal floor
They also have a non bending one. I also have a 6 foot toilet unclogger. This is a must. You can also watch a quick video and put on the entire toilet upper parts for around $20. Plumbers dont want you to know this.
Thanks. What's the best drain snake declogger for shower drains with a trap underneath?
God bless.
Exactly I yanked it and now that cheap plastic is broken in my drain and it’s gonna cost me yikes 😬 I hate myself
I bought something similar to that, and when I started to use it, I realized it was too stiff to navigate a 90 degree turn, so I chickened out...i'm glad I did
Mine is currently stuck as well. I guess I call the plumber. I’m sure cost has gone up.
Why didn't she remove the cover of that pop-up drain? I used to have one bathroom similar to that, and I cleaned it by unscrewing the cover first. Good video though!
I had mine for ever.works great.
I saw in This Old House TV show, with bathtubs you are supposed to use a snake through the overflow drain. The show host said if you snake through the down drain, it’s possible the snake will curl around up the overflow drain & get stuck. It appears that’s what happened to you.
Thanks for the heads up

Dawn right you made a $191 mistake. A metal coat hanger would have done the trick. You can EASILERLY get the BROKE snake out. If you youtube search plastic snake broken, a youtuber called Luis Claudio will pop up. He will teach you how to get the broken plastic snake out.
They have those at the dollar store, they don't always work and, they don't get hardly as much hair as the tub shroom
Stainless steel drain snake is so good even professional use it and became mainstay in their tool box. Don't buy the plastic one, period. Cost usually below $20 and last a lifetime with proper care.
The Cobra one is better because it is hard plastic.
Yeah take your stopper out before using this since is a plastic strip.
Terrible product! You're not the only one who broke it off in the drain!!
Gentle! And gloves... 😋
Hi Tiffany
Save your $$$ and make your own with dollar store zip ties and simply and carefully cut the edge of the zip tie to look like the one you bought.
Lol this is the only good use for a wire hanger.
That’s so embarrassing
191 bucks? :D you can DIY :))
I would be embarrassed if I were you
Blonde.
Your husband could do a better job
