The issue with the stickers is that you can tell they have been replaced at night when the lights come in on the dash. It's noticeable and for those that are detail oriented it will drive you nuts
If you are not replacing the radio It seems like it would be a lot less hassle to clean the buttons off with it in the dash and put the stickers on with it in the dash.
I have a question for you. On my steering wheel I have only one button that shows a tiny bit of wear (it’s hard to notice but defects like that really stand out to me) but wanted to protect it from further damage. After opening I got my replacement stickers I see instructions say to remove the rest of the original material off the button before replacing it with the sticker that will become semi permanent. My question for you is can I leave the material on there and place this sticker over it or would that damage the material on the button and also make these sticker not useful?
Does anyone know if i can swap to the single zone climate controls with the knobs? I never use the dual zone and I think the knobs would look better than the screen.
If you do accidentally use too much alcohol, it shouldn’t really bother anything electronic wise so long as you give it a few minutes to dry before plugging it back in.
I would try and be sparring with alcohol, but if you do geymt some inbetween the buttons i would use low pressure compressed air like 40psi and run the air inbetween the buttons for 10 min to distribute and evaporate the alchole, but yes overall alchole is safe for electronics as long there is no power applied because it evaporates quickly and leaves no residue.
The problem with removing that faux wood cover like that, the piece never fits back in properly and rattles like crazy. I know. Dont do this! Just use the stickers, clean the control with alcohol, and carefully stick on.
I hate that they went to the button controle vs the dial. My 02 was way more convenient. The digital display on my 2013 between the 4 way buttons wouldnt turn on this morning. I'm just quick trying to diagnose through internet before I go in there tomorrow and figure out problem. hopefully won't need full controle module

Very well said and i wish more people would take your advice. Just last week i had to put a fuel pump in a 3rd gen chevy tahoe with a completely full tank, the struggle is real.
@@moparguy2011 doing a repair while catching it on video can be tough at times . Especially getting great angles with the camera can be tricky. Thank you for watching . Definitely cant stand a full tank when doing a fuel pump . Or interior work when its filthy.
I know this is late, but it's a loose wire or failing LED. Electrical tape will (probably) fix the wire to secure it. As for the LED, you'd have to open up the control module (unplugged obviously) and see what LED is there and just swap it. Could be one or the other, or it could be both

I know the unit he’s replacing in a 2010 Chevy Tahoe is about 170 if you send them your old unit. Just google ac module and your year and model ! Hope this helps

Connor Langston i saw that when I first installed them. I took them off & colored in the button w/ a black sharpie, everything except where is is suppose to light up, then put on a new sticker. Looks like brand new now

You must have never worked on an older vehicle that has spent its life in Texas with the UV index we have , all plastics become brittle and crack way too easy. Just giving people a realistic expectation lmao

Maybe use a black Sharpie around the edges before you put the stickers on.

Yes you definitely can. To replace the sticker’s you leave all that stuff alone and just apply them. Other videos on how to do it easier and smarter

The lights on just the temp control module is very dim on mine (just wheretemp and fan speed light up). What can I do?
