It’s 2023 and my 435i coupe has 170,000 miles. Literally still runs like new. Replaced a few items but nothing crazy. Love it.

The Camaro SS reviews so well, yet it doesn't seem to get that much love compared to things like BMW. Is it the aspirational BMW badge? Because it seems to me like the Camaro SS is a very good car.

Not subjective at all? this car only shines through due to the mods the stock 4 series is questionable and the interior still hasnt changed all these years later which is embarrassing
Great video! In my opinion, these 335/340/435 engines sound way better than the M3/M4, even stock. Now this just sounds insanely good!
Ill hopefully be testing an m3 tuned by the same guys soon. So I guess we will find out!
n55 sounds better with it's twinscroll turbo where as the m3/4 has twin turbo which muffles the sound a bit, which warranted them adding the speaker/exhaust system.
What makes the difference is the single vs twin turbo. Its not the engine its self.

D Go the twin turbo’s create an uneven exhaust pulse which creates that raspy sound. The single turbo a smoother exhaust flow which creates the aggresive roar of the n55 engine.

Screw that, I have a manual 435i XDrive and I love how it grabs! Modded with JB4 on E40, map 7. It's so much fun to drive. Not 500whp crazy, but at the crank. I'm sure it's tapping 400hp/450tq. Will dyno my car if I can ever get an open reservation!

Great video! The steering gets stiffer in Sport/Sport + modes, i don't know if that's standard or optional but my in my car it works.

My 435i on high octane/map 7 will make 430whp and over 500lbs of torque, 1/4 mile in high 11’s, 0-60 in 3.7s. Jb4 tune, evolution raceworks careless downpipe, afe intake.

Same setup i have, well will have, been pushng map 7 foor a year now with no DP. Finally bit the bullet and ordered one, putting it on this weekend.

Man - go catless - i wanted to keep mine and did for over a year but finally went catless - i really wish i did this first. The car is so much more smooother and throttle response is awesome - doesn't buck during hard shifts, - only down side is a slight gas smell when starting your day but other than the sound/performance trade up is more than worth the gas smell.

I've got 420 out of stock turbos on my 435i (vert), with just a larger intercooler and replaced those stupid plastic intake pipes. Fun to drive, but I've already blown up one dif, one driveshaft, two sets of coupling donuts, engine mounts are defo gone now ... soon probably box will go since it's making funny noises (yes, it's manual so it can handle far less torque) ... but god, there is nothing more thrilling than going sideways on roundabout with roof down, having a turbulence sucking in your own tire smoke, while thinking "is this how I end my life ??? worth it !" :D

That "lag you speak of is not the boost because it is full from like 1500rpm. Its the valvetronic that engages from 3000rpm which is basically bmw vtec or variable cam

I would love to have a car like this. Maybe one day... I do wish it had the same steering feel as the e46 gen though.
e46 steering/suspension felt way better than the F body bimmers.

Out here in NY you gotta have that x drive. Otherwise it's just a fun car to use for 5 maybe If you're lucky 6 months out of the year .

Can a 435i be as fast as a M4 ? Because I was that with JUST a reprogrammation , it could make 380 hp and the same amount of torque , astonishing right ?
I have a BMW 440i with a basic Dinan tune, intake, and exhaust w/dp and im at about 400hp. With a better tune and methanol the m4 isnt even in then equation anymore. You'd be looking towards M5 territory

my 435i on map 5/7 is faster than an m3/m4 competiton pack without methanol.

Not sure if this 4 series would do it, put it in sport or sport plus and downshift from 3rd to second from 3,000 rpm or so. Doubt that it can do it, the m2 does, sometimes you can get a really loud snap.

Fabspeed makes a high end downpipe that’s catted it’s. $1300 but guaranteed to never throw a CEL

Most modern high performance turbos allow extra fuel mixture to enter the dumps off throttle, detonation post exhaust ports helps keep the turbo spinning - it's called anti-lag. I'd say they have probably just taken that to the "too far" point on this tune.
I rather hear the natural aspirated sound better.

lmao i have an N55 with this type of tune (MHD) and i have it dumping a bunch of fuel into the exhaust after i let off the gas. i have the same reaction as you do. hilarious!

Think it has to do with the 20ish thousand dollar price difference between them. And if you own the tuning company that you use to tune your car. It might be more cost effective to tune the cheaper one. But fear not! I'll be reviewing a tuned f80 m3 soon.

"none of this xdrive nonsense" haha are you kidding? an equal car with x-drive and the new 8-speed paddle gearbox would CRUSH this one in every way possible unless you want to use it as a driftmissile and that is kind of the wrong car for such driving.
Nice car and good review but there is a good reason why both xdrive and the new 8-speed race transmission costs alot more than this basic manual setup..
+Jimmi Åsberg in terms of all out performance you are right. But the purity of RWD with an LSD will always win me over. This set up could be a decent base for drifting actually. Maybe a bit too flashy, but it'll slide!

sure will, i guess you dont know how the xdrive feels to drive since you call it "crap". its the same feel in the corners as RWD since it only helps with the acceleration maybe 20% on the front wheels.

it's the mperformance exhaust with a custom downpipe and a software tune to make it bang and crackle. Custom catless to m-performance mufflers.

E46 Reviews with T.H. its just weird because i dont see it on the website. its an option for the m235/m240 but not the 3 or 4 series.
+kern417 from what I've heard it's not a very common option so you might need to special order it.
