  • DC5 base axles are too short on the RH side (Drivers side here in Australia) and too long on the LH side. Swapping the inners means you increase the RH side by about 10mm and decrease the LH side by 10mm. If you don't do this you risk the axle coming out of the intermediate shaft and/or the LH side one binding up.
    In this video we show you the cheap way to make swap axles for your EG Civic or DC2 Integra. There are lots of people confused about the steps to be taken but its really simple.
    Key bit of info i missed in the video: these are DC5 Base axles which take the 32mm axle nut which are suited to the EG and DC hubs.

    Hi there. Nice, informative video. I have a RHD GE8 Fit / Jazz. Would this work in there? Been having issues with breaking outer cv joints on the passenger / left side. Using a Honda Civic FN2 / Euro Type R shaft with K-series inner and B-series outer cvs.

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  2 месяца назад +1

      Swapping them like I did in this video gives you less length on the drivers side and more on the passenger side. So if your CV joins are breaking because they are bound up (too long) then i don't think this will help. I you are asking about rsx/dc5 axles in the GE8 - I'm sorry I do not know, but i suspect the GE8 is slightly wider? Sorry I cant help more, havent played with Jazz/Fit..... yet. hopefully soon!

      Sorry I dont know B series too well. I do know these (k series) will not work. I believe you'll be looking for some 1990-2000 Integra, Vtec DeSol or B powered EK (was it SI/EK9?) axles and intermediate shafts. If you have the CRV ones it might be worth seeing if they will work but my guess is they will be too long.

    • @teamaxlestands
      @teamaxlestands  3 года назад

      I've got them in the car but have not yet driven on them. The Left hand one is perfect (drivers side in USA) the Right one is slightly short from ideal (10mm) but i dont think it will be an issue. As for swapping the bearings.... I'm pretty sure they were identical so you'd just be doing this to keep the bearing and cup as a pair not for length. I'm not sure this is necessary. Maybe if doing it again i'd swap them... its easy enough to do.

      DC5 base axles are too short on the RH side (Driver here in Australia) and too long on the LH side. Swapping the inners means you increase the RH side by about 10mm and decrease the LH side by 10mm.
