while I do enjoy the Frozen Needle, it's such a fun and unique thrusting weapon, I feel like whenever the Goat set is involved the showcase is more of a poise showcase than a weapon showcase lol
Here I am the entire time thinking that "counter attacks" on the Spear Talisman meant counter attacking with a shield. So as long as the enemy is in an attacking animation, you get the bonus so long as you're using a thrusting weapon? Sounds like a really strong talisman for PvE then as well?
@@karimhegazy3866 Exactly. I used it with rogiers in the off hand. I eventually just switched to the estoc because that damage was disappointing and infusions give you better frost buildup :( Still, the needle has a fun moveset.
I used this as my main weapon along with a brass shield on my first elden ring playthrough. The ranged option on the heavy attack, since it doesn't cost any fp, means you can use it in almost every circumstance, as well as allows the frozen needle to take engagements at a range you wouldn't be able to with almost any other weapon. In addition to its versatility, the frozen needle is a solid boss killer with its speedy moveset and frostbite buildup. My only complaint is that I wish it had a more unique ash of war. Just a small tip, but the best part of this moveset is something you missed. After the projectile backstep press 1H light attack to move forward and attack, it moves forward almost as much as the impaling thrust, closes the distance extremely well and quickly. Also, backstepping twice after the projectile allows more distance, obviously. But spacing for this weapon is more important than and weapon I have used. Can't believe I've been sleeping on this. A better wing of astel! Frost and a projectile from canceling the r2, able to get the second I start a new character. Time for some low level invasions
Great showcase! The bullgoat was a smart move. I would've figured you would use the rotten winged talisman and stuck with L1s but the poise trading really worked out! Hoping for Helphen's Steeple next. Keep up the great work
Next somber weapon you should try is the Celebrants Cleaver. It is the only weapon that isn't a Greatsword or Claymore that I regularly use, especially in pvp It's heavy attack is a running lunge that takes alot of people off guard in my experience. Usually I use the warped axe as a secondary because it does a bit more damage but doesn't mess with the attack patterns. Of course I love using Flaming Strike as my main art of war on it. Hope to see it sometime! Stay cool Chase!
Hey Chase, I hope you've safely arrived at your vacation destination, and you enjoy it! Thanks for the great content dude! Hopefully, we get a new invasion stream after you get back?
Wing of Astel has the same concept as this weapon but better. You can basically play pretty much exclusively with the projectiles as they have better tracking, the charged r2 shoots two which makes it hard to dodge both, and the projectiles are generally wider. Additionally combined the uncharged r2 + projectile does 150 poise damage 1 handed and 160 2 handed, breaking even a full bullgoat in one hit. This means opponents who try and trade your r2 at close range will often lose, even when in hyper armour with a heavy weapon such as a colossal sword. You can also make the r2 projectile very hard to react to by firing it from behind the "Nebula" ash of war. Though it doesn't apply to your weapon showcases, the ash of war also true combos into a Moonveil swap for over 3k damage on most builds i.e. an instant one shot on even a rune arc'd host.
I’d love to see the Dragon Halberd- I love the variety of attacks you get from powerstancing the poke halberds and changing between the L1 and R1 and the ash of war is aesthetically cool if nothing else (that being said if you wait a second before doing the follow up people do get caught out by it.)
You forgot the backstep attack! Thrusting swords actually have a crazy good backstep attack that covers twice as much distance as normal. You can double backstep and the followup attack puts you right back where you started.
May I suggest the dual wielding the beastman cleaver? I am curious what you could make of it. I Really Hope From will open all those coliseum, PVP has so Much potential if it could be a bit more structured and less obscure to welcome more players. Rankings, 1v1, 2v2, or whatever. Also a unique R2 attack. Some people say it is good, some say it sucks. I would be interested in a showcase for it to test it out. But tbh, any weapon you use will end up looking good lol. Your Axe of Godfrey video is legendary!
This weapon is one of my favorites. I use the feint attack a lot with curved swords and rapiers and have gotten really good with it but it’s very strong on these since it still launches a projectile if you feint unlike astel’s wing.
My fellow Americans, I have a question. How, Chase, do you attain the Somber and Normal ancient dragon smithing stones used in these videos? Michelle and I want to spice up our Elden Ring PvP.
Well Mr. President, cloud-saves are your friend. Chase has a character with every weapon and bell-bearing and obtainable ancient stone, at around lvl 50 I think. And he just levels up that character and upgrades whatever weapons he’s going to need for the build.
that knights greatsword or whatever it's called that 'greatsword fan' was using has a really cool moveset that i always forget about! sadly no thrusts that i know of but still unique, would love to see a showcase on those (or the reduvia c: )
Just here to say this is such a good channel. So respectful and skilled and entertaining. You have it all! I was wondering how you get to respec so much. You copy and reuse your save data, I suppose? That would also explain why you can +10/+25 everything without having to do NG+ over and over again. Have a good one!
seeing chase in full bull-goats frightens me. i know you did a colossal weapon recently, but i'd be very interested in the golem's halberd. it has the faster heavy attacks of a halberd, but the hyper armor of a colossal weapon, which could be really good for mixups. also its default skill (charge forth) normally cant be applied to colossals so it might be interesting to try out, but you wouldn't be able to use affinities.
feels like antspur but cooler, hey since you did a frostbite weapon would you try Helphen's Steeple? its a uncommon greatsword that has the standart moveset of a greatsword but its ash of war does frostbite buildup
I'm gonna keep asking for a Bastard's Stars showcase, that nebula thing can catch people off guard and can do a lot of damage. One for the Family Heads dex/int mace would be really cool too
guardian swordspear, it is a halberd with ar on the higher side , a really quick alternative r1 moveset and the regular running r1 poke while also taking multiple ash of wars.
hey good job chase first time showcasing a weapon I didn't know anything about! I think this would be cool with the antspur affined with bleed. Get bleed, frost, and rot all in one go!!
Just as I was wanting to go with a rapier/sorcery pve build and had this weapon in mind; happy to see it in action! Thinking it's mid range projectile attack would couple well with longer range glintstones and glintblade phalanx to create nice little zones of control from long/medium/stabbing for a spellblade kinda deal
For those that don’t know: if your armor set has more poise than your weapon you can tank about 1 hit or so,after that the poise resets every 30 seconds.
The reason why you can't poise through attacks is because during SuperArmor frames your Poise depends on weapon/attack type, so your poise might actually decrease during attacks instead of increasing
I would like to see you do a show case of the Morning Star. It’s one of the only hammers with pokes and natural bleed. Honestly I really think it might be the most slept on weapon imo.

Chase is the ONLY channel that i subscribe with notification on xD, CANT MISS THIS SHIT
Never discovered this weapon on either on of my playthroughs. Definitely gonna try it out once I get it, very similar to its DS2 counterpart!
that knights greatsword or whatever it's called that 'greatsword fan' was using has a really cool moveset that i always forget about! sadly no thrusts that i know of but still unique, would love to see a showcase on those (or the reduvia c: )
Just here to say this is such a good channel. So respectful and skilled and entertaining. You have it all! I was wondering how you get to respec so much. You copy and reuse your save data, I suppose? That would also explain why you can +10/+25 everything without having to do NG+ over and over again. Have a good one!
hey man, thanks for all the consistent content for so many years. Normally I just lurk, but I wanted to say thanks once
:3
seeing chase in full bull-goats frightens me.
i know you did a colossal weapon recently, but i'd be very interested in the golem's halberd. it has the faster heavy attacks of a halberd, but the hyper armor of a colossal weapon, which could be really good for mixups. also its default skill (charge forth) normally cant be applied to colossals so it might be interesting to try out, but you wouldn't be able to use affinities.
I am in pain...
I completely forgot about this series! *PainPeko!*
I'm sowsy Chase, I forgor!
Poiselord build with an infinite no fp cost long range atack, nice.
I love the Caladan Brood character. Malazan Book of the Fallen is a phenomenal series.
Chase, duel wielding any thrust sword is the way to go! Especially with rotten winged and millicent prosthesis
That last guy, lol. Chase legit hit him with the "Omae wa mou shinderu"
that last moonveil battle was straight out of fist of the northstar
feels like antspur but cooler, hey since you did a frostbite weapon would you try Helphen's Steeple? its a uncommon greatsword that has the standart moveset of a greatsword but its ash of war does frostbite buildup
Haha
Cooler
@L_O_W_K_E_Y-G you are probably right my dude but there is no harm in writing it i believe ^^
If you do the dodge heavy attack, it counts as a backstep so if you chained that with a light attack you get a really far travelling attack
I'm gonna keep asking for a Bastard's Stars showcase, that nebula thing can catch people off guard and can do a lot of damage. One for the Family Heads dex/int mace would be really cool too
It feels like the frost projectile should be the ash of war instead of the thrust
It being the r2 makes it more versatile though, also doesn't cost fp
guardian swordspear, it is a halberd with ar on the higher side , a really quick alternative r1 moveset and the regular running r1 poke while also taking multiple ash of wars.
I'm really excited to see powerstanced Great Knives
hey good job chase first time showcasing a weapon I didn't know anything about!
I usually watch these while I eat dinner... but ate early today and didn't know what tf to do
That combo at 9:45 was nice.
The reason why you can't poise through attacks is because during SuperArmor frames your Poise depends on weapon/attack type, so your poise might actually decrease during attacks instead of increasing
i love this weapon, and the ice rapier was one of my favorite weapons in ds2
Chase in full bull goat, with a frostbite buildup weapon is a terror, lmao.
12:45 that really was crazy lol
I would like to see you do a show case of the Morning Star. It’s one of the only hammers with pokes and natural bleed. Honestly I really think it might be the most slept on weapon imo.
That helm thoXD That said Bullgoat is perfectly designed.
Alright, the name Mighty Morbin made me laugh out loud.
Yay i was waiting for this weapon to make it too the showcase.
ChaseTheBro, first off, visions of something incredible.
On a side note, I would love to see you spec into health, use health related talismans, and duel other players naked with your fists (no weapons or seals)
I call this build idea, "I AM BEOWULF!" 😆
Do it! You're the only guy I know that probably can!
The last invasion be like: Omaewa mou Shinderu!
Opponent sipping: NANI! Health exploded and dies.
7:46 I AM THE STORM THAT IS APPROOOOACHING!
