Hey, fellow disabled person here. I started the Huel diet 2 days ago, although I haven't thrown myself into the deep end. I've got one Huel meal and I'm still quite snackish, have you got any tips?

  • @ungratefulmango

I could never get along with the Huel hot meals.
I have a shake for breakfast because it's convenient before I go to work. Just don't have the time to make a proper breakfast and clean up.
It's also good if you're trying to reduce meat and dairy from your diet.

Why would u reduce meat from ur diet, thats the stupids thing i have heard all day, i mean unless its a religious thing or something, there is no reason to eat less meat, did u know that the only essential nutrient for human is protein. And you can only achieve that eating mainly an animal based diet.
Plant protein is rapped in insoluble fibre, as the name suggests your body can’t digest it. It goes right through to the toilet. Animal protein extraction to plant protein extraction is roughly a ratio of 1:3. And alot of the energy is used to extract the protein from the fibre, so the fibre stays more in ur colon, which makes you more gassy, the plant are essentially fermenting inside you

@@ungratefulmango Don’t take my harsh words personal please, I only wish good for you. You don’t want to end up diabetic or suffering from some sort of gut issue later in your life. If it’s a moral issue you’re not doing any animal any good.
This life is too harsh on them to begin with, and farming has been the best sanctuary for cattle. Realistically speaking being slaughtered by a sharp knife or a gun is way easier way to go by than to be eaten from the butt then upwards, or getting torn to shreds by a predator.
If you don’t trust me, then do it for yourself, try to eat only plants (vegan diet) for a month, then only eat animal foods (carnivore diet) for a month. You will clearly see your health problems disappear.

Get an omelette maker from Lidl. On a morning turn it on, tiny bit of butter (proper butter) in one side, crack in two eggs, don’t bother whisking. Whilst it cooks put a slice of bacon in the air fryer. Quickly get ready, in 6-8 minuets it’ll be ready, slap the eggs and bacon in a tortilla with a piece of cheddar and wrap it up for a tasty breakfast wrap. Boom, start the day winning.

@@zerperiorI reduce my meat consumption particularly red meat because it’s much better for the planet, red meat has very high CO2 produced per kg of meat. Nuts dairy and tofu are also great sources of protein, I still manage to hit my protein goals (140g making sure that contains all essential amino acids) when I go veggie for a week every now and then, it just takes more prep and time👍.

No mention of the gut rot and painful stomach cramps. Gave it a go for a month, my mates disowned me because of the awful ass gas emitted. While i lost a few pounds as part of the experiment i refused to persist because of pain and embarrassment it inflicted on me and others around. Binned the rest of my Huel products. I do not recommend this stuff.

Can't really have too much protein from a health POV. Some people may deal with gastric issues at a very high amount of protein, but from a nutrition and satiety perspective you'd definitely rather eat a high protein diet than a high carb diet if your body agrees with it. Especially if you are physically active, it helps reduce your resting time and promote muscle growth and retention.
However, I will say that since huel consists of plant proteins, living entirely off huel protein is not great. It's doable, but meat has a much more nuanced profile of amino acids and is more bioavailable. You'd need more plant proteins than meat proteins because the body will have to rebuild some of this plant protein into the amino acids it actually needs.
Definitely much rather have double the recommended protein than half the recommended protein.

    • @TheEinharjar

I can garatuee that you're 100x more likely to eat too little protein than too much these days

I get the point of these videos but is there a reason (other than to not ruin your metabolism) for not having a strict 30 day huel-only diet? Or is that not the goal of the Huel brand? To replace actual meals? Maybe I'm uninformed

@@SentinelSayscuz its all plant based ultra processed slime, these companies are appealing to people’s misinformation
You CAN’T as a human being sustain a healthy diet on vegetables alone, let alone on legumes and pea proteins supplements.
People today forget that their ancestors didn’t not have access toto 98%of these plants that people are making entire meals of.
Humans used to eat simple whole foods, milks, meats, yogurt, cheeses, meats, fish and some wheats if they were in season. Berries and fruits were a sour snack, that were very scarce

Because you shouldn't claim to have an opinion about something unless you've tried it. Granted you can criticise using your own body as an experiment but at least he can stand up and say "I tried it and this is how I feel about it". Most people either love or hate huel but I doubt that 90% of those who hate it actually tried it. Personally I think I may have tried one shake from the shop once and didn't particularly like that one, but what really can I say about an encounter with huel that I barely recall? I think his methods are, again, extreme, but at least he has something to base his opinions on.
