I do something similar every now and then.
5 days, one ketogenic meal a day of natural foods, steamed veggies, olives, avocado a little bit of cheese maybe or buttermilk, macadamia nuts, cucumber, olive oil, herbs, something like that.
Also my coffee with milk, cream or butter.
No carbs, basically, low protein, perhaps 700 kcal per day max? I don't count.
It feels like fasting, but without the intense cravings, the weakness, the sleep disturbance. More gentle.
Eating lots of salt, you'll lose so much water.
I love ProLon!
I’m not overweight and I use this for my brain health. There is valid science proving that this kind of occasional FMD benefits and improves brain health.
May I know if I m allowed to drink black coffee while I m doing prolone fasting ?
I'm on day 3 of round 2 of Prolon and I love it! Down 5 lbs so far. It feels so good to take a break from eating 3 meals a day. Overall I like the prolon food, I mostly agree with Dr. Youn's opinion on the food. However I love the choco crisp bar!
I'm on day 2 Round 2 and so far so good. I did notice my blood sugar readings dipping below 70 to 59 at the lowest and in the 60s last night and that's a little concerning. Other than that it seems fine and not too terrible. I actually love all of the food. That's what happens when it's the only thing you eat. Last time I was tired or soup, but I still happily eat it.
Can you pls buy me one😢… I need sponsorship 🙏
I have done the diet a few times. Starting again today. Looked into nutrition and fasting after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.
Does it help ?
I'm a bit confused. Are we promoting longevity with processed food?
❤🎉
There was no talk about how much water to drink. I would think you could have as much as you want, because you need to stay hydrated.
I'm starting this today and it says you can drink all the water you want. 👍
Great review of this. I have been doing intermittent fasting, but have thought about trying Prolong. Thank you!
I am on day 3 of the FMD. As I am a 5’1” female and require fewer calories anyway, this is probably easier for me than a larger person. In spite of that, I am excited about the autop
Autophagy and impact on stem cells!!! I’m not really hungry (wish there were one for small people) but love the tea and want to know more about the L-water. I have his book and love that 100% profits go to excellent causes. Will definitely be doing quarterly.
See continuation…
Agreed. I would’ve taken out some of the food if I knew how much to take out.
Just take out one soup per day?
did you lose weight?
This is an awesome review! Thank you. I’m getting ready to order a 5 day kit and I wanted to know what the food is really like.
I do water/tea only fasting and a FMD that I buy my own ingredients for. I've noticed positive effects with regard to my allergies, especially skin allergies. The other thing is a scar that I've had since I was a teenager is now completely gone. It was a pronounced scar about the size of a quarter on my abdomen. That took about two years of monthly fasts, though. My dermatologist was amazed.
@@aprilmurch1054 I focused on high-fiber veggies like kale for garlic salt kale chips, broccoli, cauliflower, and artichokes. I find them more filling. I stewed quartered cabbage heads in bone broth or made a soup of bone broth and coleslaw mix when I was in a hurry. I love pickles, pickled cabbage, and pickled artichokes, which was a bonus because the salt helped balance my electrolytes.
I've bought and drank GALLONS of tea over the years, mostly rooibos, honeybush, and peppermint because they're naturally sweeter and caffeine-free. I used ketochow electrolyte drops if I started feeling "off" or getting a headache.
I did 5 days FMD every two months for nearly two years. However, I didn't start that until I was solidly fat-adapted via intermittent fasting (2 meals per day within a 4 hour window) and high protein keto. I tried it coming from a standard diet, and the hunger pangs and nausea were unbearable.
Now I'm so fat-adapted (and lazy) that water/tea-only fasting is easier. Good luck wherever you are on your health journey!
I'm a PGI and I've been on the OMAD diet for 5 months now.. sadly I have reached a plateau so I might need to adjust it again. Will probably try this but I wanna DIY this, I don't think we have prolon from where I'm from.
Look for the book "the longevity diet" from dr. Valter Longo. In the back he has a meal plan and recipes to follow around this
I've been trying to understand the differences between fasting and the FMD and found your report very interesting. Can you do the FMD with better food? 1000 calories for day 1 and 750 calories for days 2 through 5, reduce the carbs to less 40 or 50 grams and maybe a little more fat, and keeping the same protein. grind up chia and flax seeds for the fiber and fats? Naturally you will be careful with the calculation of the macros (carbs fat protein) and use green powders, vegetables and fat to make up differences. Less carbs more nutrients!
I'm on day 5 and have lost 3 pounds so far. Just cancelled my 3 months auto refill since the foods tested so BAD that I wouldn't try it ever again
I’m on day 7 regular water fast only drinking water and down 36lbs lol
This is between 800-1000 calories just make a great vegetables soup and salad nuts and seeds make your own cheap healthy mimic fasting mimicing diet
@@doddsalfa yes. Or you can follow to the recipes and meal plan from dr. Longo book : " the longevity dieta"
Tested or tasted?

They don't offer the bottle anymore, I got my box today
Am on day 4 of Prolon . Glycerin drink ick. But I have NOT been hungry. Food noise yes, but no real hunger. I’m presuming I’m in ketosis.
Thanks for doing this ....
I’m on day 3 and I’m starving & have no energy! 😫
Thank you for the review
Starting mine on 11-28
I appreciate your help.
You looked alright
Hi, Dr.
How often you recommend to do fasting?
I will start mine tomorrow. What did you eat on day 6?
Amazing❤️❤️❤️❤️
So all processed food & how is this healthy???🙄🤔
Just bought all the ingredients. About 30$….:-)
IKR? Just eat 1000 cals of veggies day one, include 1-2 Tbsp olive oil and about 8 olives. Then eat 800 cal's worth of veggies days 2-5, also including the olives and oil. On her channel, Sylvie Pajot even has a simple shopping list, the salad recipe...and, if u like to switch it up, some very simple soup recipes.
It doesn’t work that way. Prolone is specially formulated to have the right macro and micro nutrients. The kits include specific vitamins, crackers, bars, soups, etc….that you can’t just buy in a grocery store. If you decide to try this at home without using prolone, you may not get the desired results that those on prolone are getting. You just have to keep that in mind
Check out some videos by Dr Mindy Pelz on the Prolon Diet. By following the macros, u u can achieve autophagy, stem cell production, particularly in your gut, increased HGH and other fasting benefits. Also, check out Sylvie's channel.
@@sarajones9293I think as long as you hit the calories, and keep protein around 15-20 g per day you will get the autophagy. Your body does the ‘magic’ not some special vitamins / supplements. You’ll get the same or better results in fact if you just drink water and eat nothing for 72 hours. That’s the effect this diet is trying to mimick.
Did you do any blood work to check?
I've been putting off the blood work til I do this...started today. Did it last year, too. Didn't buy the kit.
apple slices?
Tip: warm up the bars a little and add sprinkle of salt
Being a type 2 diabetic can I use this system?
Best to ask your doctor first
Wouldn’t you gain it all back really quickly? I have been on a weight loss journey for so long now. I really research every weight loss plan all the time. But basically I eat healthy. Half a plate of fresh veggies and fruits. A palm size of protein and a small amount of whole grain. For lunch is usually a fresh vegetable and a small portion of protein. And breakfast is usually a small yogurt or a boiled egg. No sugar, no sodas. And I drink a gallon of water every day.
Prolon is garbage. Hope you don't ever have to reach out to customer service. Hint: There is none.
Lack of access to customer service IS a drawback. Fortunately, the program has gone extremely well for me: I'm on Day 4 and enjoying the journey. Apple slices? Btw, I do like most of the soups, with carrot ginger being my favorite so far. The crackers are remarkably tasty, considering I don't usually like Kale. And the choco crisp is wonderful. I tend to do only half of the L-Bar in the morning, and save the other half for a snack.
It has too much sodium
You better like olives a lot! Great idea - however, absolutely horrendous food. The soup - for me - was inedible and olives are okay not my favorite. Ended up spending a ridiculous amount of money for food I mostly couldn't/didn't eat. When I did the kit there were no apples involved. Just fast, it's easier and free.
The way I screamed in anger when he mentioned apple slices in day 3. Like, Wtf?!
U need a life
Why do these people do these overly long videos!!
This is a diet you will lose muscle mass too
Could one mimic the diet for a fraction of cost?
I believe the quality of the ingredients is hard to isolate on the open market -- even at the SAME cost. And the ease of it: just boil water and stire several times a day. But that's just my take.
I’m hopeless, I tried to do it, and I couldn’t make it through day 1. I had a bad migraine and nausea and eventually I caved and ordered myself pizza 😂 and yes I know how expensive it is, and I wasted my money on it. I just couldn’t with the migraine.
Day 2 if Prolon I love it! Im a water only faster. I can go a week but its hard on my mind and body. Im not hungry at all on this Prolon.
On a diet like this you’ll lose muscle, water, and fat. I work too hard for my muscle. This diet is a waste of money and not a substitute for intermittent fasting, which I’ve been doing for 25+ years. My body fat is 13-15%.
No actually you’ll retain your muscle while losing fat because that’s exactly what it’s formulated for. You drink a glycerol amino acid drink which retains muscle!
It’s not for you. And most people aren’t like you lol.
So this is basically a plan for people who would otherwise be unable to water fast or reduce their calories weekly.
Pssst Immortals. Holy week I fast Sunday to Sunday. Try that with 3 kids and full time job and working out. 💪 All for Jesus Christ!
You may be correct. I am on Day 4, and I have remained focused and energized for normal activity (nothing strenuous). I haven't been able to do that on a water fast for 5 days. Reducing calories is likely after this "RESET" for the next week or so, I'm thinking. But even if I return to my 1200-1500 calories per day, I believe WHAT I will eat is favorably altered with this re-education of what my body seems to want in a healthy way. I do look forward to regular salads and a bit of fruit.
This really sounds interesting.
I need a sponsorship so I can try this
If you have health insurance, it might be covered.
Easy to do yourself at home. Just eat 1000 cals of non-starchy veggies, like a big salad for lunch and dinner day one, followed by similar, but 800 cal's total for day 2-5. Sylvie Pajot has the DIY on her channel. U can def' do this very cheaply, maybe $30, or even less.
How do they justify charging $250 for that tiny bit of food.
I’m on my 2nd round of FMD, day three. I did intermittent fast since round 1 last month. Down 11 Lbs…so far. 2nd round is much easier
I'm on day 4 of my second round and I agree
Is it ok to drink black coffee while on prolon?
You are allowed 140 mg of caffeine per day so the answer is yes. This equates to about one cup (8-12 oz) of black coffee.
Which version did the doctor do?
Bạn ở quốc gia nào vậy
Thank you for the review. Something I'm going to do. Have you used light therapy at all for stem cell activation?. I use a patch that activation a GHK-CU pepptide that stimulates the activation of stem cells through a process of photobiomodulation. If interested I can give you more information. I get great results and it's non transdermal.
haha! I'm on my second iteration of the Prolon 3 month series. I also get disappointed on the snack free days haha BUT I have to say I never feel "hungry" I only have to fight the reflexive eating.
I really like Prolon, however, I didn’t like nut bar.. prolon 👙 should have an option to have something savory instead of the nut bar
I'm confused. Were you able to eat an apple? Can you drink other teas? Have you continued the Prolon every month or every other?
I will like to try it but I don’t like olives and tomatoes 😞
I just bought it:)
What do you think about it, mamita?
I don’t really like tea but I’ll try them.
I’ll try this within a few months
Hi Dr youn - how did you get to eat apples?
Was excited about this when I seen it, but the price definitely not in my budget being a single mom of three wondering if there were any alternatives with regular food that can achieve the same results
Try getting from the library one of Dr. Gundry’s Plant Paradox books. It’s a series. The latest one is “Unlocking the Keto Code”. And he has 2 cookbooks, with lots of great recipes . I do the intermittent fasting, which Gundry does all the time. I usually have my first meal around noon and last food around 6or 7 pm. Eating less food is great. And finishing eating 3 hours before bed is better for your sleep. Also taking 5,000 IU’s of vitamin D, as well as 2,000 grams of C, (because cutting down on sugar, means not eating fruit most of the time.) Also vitamin K2 & fish oil . And what I do eat is good quality, greens, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, French butter, pastured eggs, ocean caught salmon, cod, occasional shrimp. Lots of salad with arugula & olive oil & vinegar. Pasta from cassava or, millet, or sorghum (no gluten), available either on Amazon or at Shoprite or at Whole Foods. And pistachios & walnuts, & pecans but no cashews & no peanuts or nightshades. And use iodized salt. Dr. Gundry has a podcast, and he’s had Valter Longo on several times.
@@celeste-236 thank you so much for taking the time to offer your advice and choices. It is very helpful to me. I appreciate the time you took to give me informative information. I will definitely put it into practice. I actually took a screenshot of your recommendations and what you do I appreciate it.👍🏾
There is a RUclips about putting a similar diet together from purchasing food at the store. Much Cheaper and you can choose cleaner products with healthy oils.
@@ireneklauber4008Which channel is it, please?
His book gives you a very simple home fmd you can very cheaply and easily do yourself. I did it and lost weight and felt so good
Thank you Dr. Youn!
Will health insurance pay for this?
Doubtful, but you'd have to ask your company
I’m a heavy water drinker. Would I be able to continue drinking large amounts of water while doing this. Also, can I chew gum while doing this? What about exercising should I stop that for the five days?
Many years ago I fasted for 3 weeks on clear vegetables broth and carrot juice but continue to smoke which is of course not wise but yeah I think you can and should drink lots of water doing this and don’t worry about chewing gum
Yeah, this diet is a massive rip off. $120+ for $5 worth of food & supplement items.
