@@libmathis1007 That's quite true and then you end up eating old crow instead of drinking it. It's fun to make a joke, but I gave up alcohol many years ago.
Russ, thank you for such an amazing video. According to the park website the inhabitants were pre-columbian are lived in the between 500 to 1425 A.D. The ruins are in remarkable condition. Thank you for bringing this video. My ancestors are Choctaw and I always wondered what lived like.
Absolutely amazing. Deep roots in those ruins. Thank u for sacrificing the heat . hope u stayed hydrated . 😍the workers making the visit better for others. Thanks Russ!
So glad that you were able to visit Wupatki National Monument. You missed the petroglyph by not having the guide book....(sorry that you were not able to obtain inside the visitor's center). The Wukoki Pueblo down the road was very interesting, too, because you are allowed to climb inside parts of the home. Thank you video!
That's really a cool place. A lot of labor went into building that community. So much history. Excellent walkway, makes it safer and saves the historical areas. Enjoyed. Ty. Be safe. 😊👍
Hey Russ Old Okie here. Next time you come to Oklahoma City you need to take some time and go out to Robbers Cave State Park outside of Wilburton,Oklahoma. See some great scenery and wonderful sunsets!
I was there in November of the same year and the visitor center was closed then too. I was fascinated visiting this place. So many things to see and learn. Further down that trail is the vent hole and another ring. I went back last year, and the visitor center was open and had so many interesting artifacts and information. This place never gets old! Definitely a sacred place.
Thanks for tour. It's been many years since I investigated the ruins of the Indian cities in northern Arizona. They are fascinating. Keep your eyes peeled for the many petroglyphs that can be found. They are another very personal contact with an ancient, lost civilization.
"Look at that old crow there." Don't you dare speak that way about my wife, Russ! I'll have you know she's not an old crow! (Sigh) She's more like an old vulture. Just kidding, ladies! That round structure with the built-in bench reminds me of the kivas found amongst the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde in Colorado. Thanks for the visit, Russ, it was very interesting.
Thanks Russ. I need to get out there. I have been to Greece and Italy. They say OLD there they are talking about thousands of years. I know we have places like this that are as old or older. I'm in Florida and we know of Indian tribes that were here many thousands of years ago, They left huge piles of shells so we know they were hear. be safe.
Awesome Russ, You know you might be the only way the rest of us will ever get to see these great historical locations. Last night on the TV news they said museums are likely to be closing, many will not reopen due to this Pandemic. How sad is that! So take us on a tour of as many sites as you can while you can Russ. We all appreciate and enjoy what you bring into our worlds. See You Soon!
I sincerely want to thank you for stopping at some of these lesser known spots, so many of us have driven past such places with the same admonition that "I'll have to stop there next time thru this way". Unfortunately for many of us "next time" is far and few between and that is to bad as we miss seeing much of the early history of our great country and how our early inhabitants coped with these harsh and desolate places. I have been hooked on Indian dwellings since a visit to Mesa Verde as a kid, just to marvel at the ingenuity it takes to build such dwellings, much less be able to sustain a village or town of any size. I am now in my old age trying to get back that way and make a grand tour of just Arizona and New Mexico and see every little known site I possibly can...your getting to them first and letting us go along has whetted my appetite to go even more...Thanks!
Wow I never really walked around the ruins by the visitor area when I was there. I was heading to Moab and didnt take the time. Thanks for showing me what I missed!
Love your videos. Especially the ones where you walk around. I have a breathing trouble and can't get out and see this things. Thanks for the videos, keep up the good work.
Hello Russ Good Video Thank you for sharing. Turn on stabilization, When u walk your bouncing up & down. Avoid Laughing on audio, add in some time lapse sky. Avoid buildings using central AC , LIKE STORES. USE CURB SIDE PICK UP. ONLY Wear a good mask, skip any drive thru or Resturants. Be Safe
Beautiful! Thanks for taking the time to back track there Russ. Looking forward to making this same trek next year. BTW that bird is a raven, often mistakenly called a crow. Crows are smaller.
I was on that road between Flagstaff and Page in 1993 but heading south after going up to Hite ect. During that trip on that road, way out in the middle of nowhere, I drove through a 'cloud burst ' rainstorm. It's only lasted about 5 minutes or so but it was torrential. And the weird thing about it was, the road and countryside were bone dry either side of it.
Nice trip to some well constructed ruins. Well stacked. I guess some of the missing upper structure roofs were probably made from timeber in the near by area. Suppose?
Kind of weird to be the only one out there... But, It is the middle of the week, I guess that's normal.. I wonder why you have a no fly zone there ? FYI .. You are not getting close enough to the story boards... Everyone is really missing out on reading it.. The Ranger must leave food on top of his pick up for the crow.. Yes.. No ? .. Stay Happy and Well Russ !! Nice Video !!
Hey Russ , is it illegal to fly your drone when in a national park? I notice you never do?? Awesome videos anyway. Keep up the great work and journey on.😁
It was raining hard and I was hiding in the visitor center. The visitor center did not change a bit in all these years. Obviously these guys did not get as much funding as the Sunset Crater did. This "castle" was built before the Sunset Crater eruption in the 10th or the 11th century. Looking at the way how they handled sandstone and the functionalities of the buildings, the civilization was not that primitive.
🙋♀️I 'd like to see one of these stone homes a little more intact. It's neat, but awkward to vision kitchen, fireplaces, windows, doors, etc. That TV room had a window way up, you'd need a ladder. No traces of fire places anywhere that I could see. That crow must have seen a mouse out there. I've never seen one hang around so long. Cute 'lil fella.👍 (Have you seen a place around the canyon called "the wave"? I just read about it in my MSN news, the beautifulest place in every state. That was near the Grand Canyon or part of it somehow.)
Just curious........I take it Russ is a full time RVER? The reason being, this living concept is on the table for me for when I retire in the very near future.
Arizona landscape is a dream for botanists!
And geologists 😉
Old Crow on a pickup, I prefer Wild Turkey on the rocks :)
It's a good thing Russ is the one driving! I like to shoot my Wild Turkey.
Wild turkey will make u act like a turkey....
@@libmathis1007 That's quite true and then you end up eating old crow instead of drinking it. It's fun to make a joke, but I gave up alcohol many years ago.
That circle is where they probably had their 'rock' concerts. Yeah, I know... really bad. I just couldn't help myself :)
Yeah, they sat 'around' and got 'stoned' on peyote buds. I bad pun invites another, sorry. 😁
And, that wasn't a TV room. It was a 'Man Cave'. Please help me stop...........................
Russ, thank you for such an amazing video. According to the park website the inhabitants were pre-columbian are lived in the between 500 to 1425 A.D. The ruins are in remarkable condition. Thank you for bringing this video. My ancestors are Choctaw and I always wondered what lived like.
Thanks! I was wondering who lived there.
Some of the most impressive ruins , set in a fantastic landscape, and you had them all to yourself, lucky man.
Absolutely amazing.
Deep roots in those ruins.
Thank u for sacrificing the heat . hope u stayed hydrated .

Thanks Russ!

Very interesting stop, Russ. I really appreciate it when you remind us “that’s the same view they had so many years ago”. Very cool; thanks!
Enjoyed the ruins. Good stop! 👍🏻
Thanks, Russ!👍🏻❤️🙏🇺🇸
What a location! Half expecting Chewbacca ‘s cousin show up. Movie set .. all the starlets....Jose st gorgeous
It’s amazing how people on different continents and that long ago would build similar structures like an amphitheater. This was great! Thank you!
Hi Russ

Ive been enjoying the videos. This ones my favorite so far. Thanks for sharing. Be safe.
Amazing ruins and interesting how they built into the landscaping.
That's really a cool place. A lot of labor went into building that community. So much history. Excellent walkway, makes it safer and saves the historical areas. Enjoyed. Ty. Be safe. 😊👍

i have been to AZ a bunch of times, but have never seen the stuff you have done these last few trips, thanks.

I'm glad that you stopped there too, really eye opening into a very different world.
The whole place is reserved for RVerTV only 😀. Stay safe.
RVerTV - Best In The West . Russ - Too Cool 4 School .
Amazing workmanship with few tools. Fun vacation that I enjoy late in the evening. 😁
This is real America to me, the out of the way places and landscapes.
Wow!! Thanks, Russ!!

Neat to see all these places I wouldn't otherwise be able to. Thanks! 😊

You should have made that loop around sunset crater. There is a beautiful overlook of the painted desert about halfway.
Truly amazing footage.🤓 Thank you for bringing us along with you.👍God bless and 🐝safe💐🌹
Your videos are so informative, like how you stop and explore.

How was the temperature at the ruins Russ? What a scenery! Beautiful!

Is it summer time when this video is filmed? That is probably why there is t anyone hiking with ya. Az gets toasty! Been here all my life.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about him being the only one. (tourist)
The black bird, based upon its call, is a raven.
We were there yesterday. Most of this was recreated because of damage
1 gaint Kiva i think. If i remember built on top think that was foundation
Hey Russ , is it illegal to fly your drone when in a national park? I notice you never do?? Awesome videos anyway. Keep up the great work and journey on.😁
I Heard It Gets So Hot Out There.....The Birds Start Walking.....I Don't Believe That...
Due to those that abuse the privilege to many drone regulations. Feds, state, county & local.
Fry bread at Cameron Trading Post👍

Those "old fossils" are places where the Indians pounded acorns with rocks. These are found all over the southwest.
