Can we even call what he does as acting?? He becomes the character in the movie and it feels so real you believe whatever he is whatever he does, he made us cry because he lost a ball, the greatest actor of all times
It's not so much being devoid of cynicism, like he was color blind to it. More like he's put in great effort and intelligence to not let cynicism bring him down. Same way you can't truly be brave without knowing fear.
This man makes me so overwhelmed! I've seen Turner and Hooch, Big, Forrest Gump, The Money Pit, Castaway, All the toy story movies, Saving Mr. Banks, Captain Rogers, Mermaid, etc... All the genres he does so well and with such passion is what makes him my favorite actor ever! Plus, regardless of his talent, he just seems like a genuinely smart and nice guy. Unlike most celebrities who show their dark sides through interviews.
@@tomhanks703 Its a Time ago. I think since Scott & Huutsch.I have for sure almost70% all your Movies seen. The Last Movie they i look was Greyhound. Big Kickass Story and Movie. I was 1.31 Hour in another Time and Live.
*An amazing actor, there aren't allot of artists out there who can wear both the masks of tragedy & comedy on screen,* *This is no mean feat, yet this is what Tom Hanks can do, perfectly!.*
sometimes wise artists give you the words to articulate what's happening in your own life, especially wise actors like tom hanks. they have a way of making sense of the career and life confusion that happens as a result of wanting to follow your passion.
His range is very broad. Truly a master of his craft...and seeing him in Elvis as an unlikable character and still managing to play that with humanity was the icing
Wonderful actor! I hope he stays an actor and stays away from politics. Washing is no place for actors unless your name is Ron Reagan! This man Hanks has given the entire World many hours of visual entertainment. Thank you Tom Hanks!!!!
this guy was born to be an actor. I haven't seen anyone with that kind of talent. Today, Daniel Day Lewis, Michael Fassbender, and Robin Williams (may come close) My personal favorite is Woody Harrelson. Very underrated. Tom Hanks could be considered the greatest and I could not argue
Of all my friends I'm probably the least cynical, they're all skeptical about this business but I'm gonna chase after my dreams anyways. This is awesome advice from a legendary actor ^^
Castaway, Joe Vs. the Volcano, Apollo 13, Forest Gump, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal... Tom Hanks and John Wayne are my favorite male actors. Props to Tom Cruise at #3, Kevin Cosner #4, Nicolas Cage, Gene Hackman, and Donald Sotherland. Love them all!
+Andrea J. Good Luck to you. Become anything like Hanks you will have an absolute future ahead of you. He is inspirational. I don't agree sometimes in the amount of money actors make but when it comes to Hanks he is so real and most of his movies (95% I would say) is real and to the core.
I liked Mr. Hanks when he first started making movies then I got a bit bored with him then around Philadelphia I realized that he was willing to transform but I still wasn't completely sold on his film choices. Recently, I really enjoy him again with Cloud Atlas and Captain Phillips. He's very, very smart and wildly talented and willing to go out on that limb that is snapping.
Really? That is interesting. What movies bored you in the beginning before Philadelphia? Forest Gump? A league of their own? Big ? Just to name a few. That amazes me that none of those impressed you and made you bored. Thank god you are not Siskel and Ebert I would have missed a many good movies.
Mathew mac'conaughey said like him, he study the text in the beginning, read and read and read and After he learn, it's a good process to learn better and faster and to understand the character, in fact it's the most important part to become a great actor maybe, understand the text and the character instead just learning.
It was interesting seeing the juxtaposition between his great screen acting, and Mark Rylance more stagey approach in Bridge of Spies. That chemistry worked very well. Would like to see him do some stage work at some point.
This video is great. It's such an inspiration to hear the story of Tom Hanks. How he did it, the struggle and the decision that he made. To hear this from him, it's amazing and in inspiring. It's really inspiring for young actors like me. This man is amazing, as an actor and as a person.
Tom was fucking brilliant in Captain Phillips. The ending scene is gut wrenching and at the time I didn't like to watch it but I was captivated by Tom's performance that I found myself watching some of the best acting I've seen.
Janie is so excited can't wait to get done with Acting & Modeling here in ( Denver,CO )@t( John Casablancas I am training with right now! ) fabulous! Interview Tom!!! Love your movies!!! My favorite one Sleepless in Seattle!!!! :)
Tom Hanks is up there with Liam Neeson and Will Smith, of the top three actors of all time. So instantly recognizable, as is Liam Neeson and Will Smith.
It's not all about Oscars, it's about who you think from their performances and films has done well. And I grant you, yes Tom has more than both of them combined but I still think that Will and Liam are both great actors hence why Liam (more than Will) and Tom are chosen to play in films again and again.
***** I think that has less to do with their acting ability and more to do with there box office pull. Not saying they are bad actors, but I couldn't compare them to the likes of Paul Newman, Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson etc and even more modern actors like Christian Bale and Edward Norton.
Exactly i would add Phillip Seymour Hoffman , Joaquin phoenix ,Michael fassbender, also one of my all time favorites and critically marveled Daniel day Lewis not to mention cinema legends such as john wayne, James stewart, Humphrey bogart, Marlon Brando tom hanks is good and deserves his reputations but cmon okay will smith was good in 2 movies seven pounds and the pursuit of happiness and liam neeson is the same fucking guy in every movie.
All my life all I’ve seen is misery and living with a narcissist family I remember watching the titanic as kid snd i said you know what all i want for this suffering to end is live my dream and become an actor
Tom Hanks is easily my favourite actor! I was lucky enough to actually meet the man, and I'm so happy to say he's as nice in person as he appears in the media. I made a vlog about meeting him on my channel; check it out if you're interested :)
Oh you lucky boy. I would like to hear how you met him. Where was it, did you ask him any questions or was it just a meet and greet, take a picture and bah by?
Generally just seems like an all around nice guy, never see him getting into trouble, never hear of him being an ass. The one actor if I had the chance I would want to meet
Can we even call what he does as acting?? He becomes the character in the movie and it feels so real you believe whatever he is whatever he does, he made us cry because he lost a ball, the greatest actor of all times
Do M that's what real acting is
no thats daniel day lewis
Dalton Deverell daniel is great but doesnt have as many amazing different characters as tom hanks
mike yeghiayan right his character in ladykillers was great. I loved his best movie the da vinci code as well as inferno Those were great movies
Do M Willson! im sorry Willson... lol
One reason why Tom Hanks is so successfull and popular: He is completly devoid of any cynicism. That is rare, especially in that business.
Wow before COVID was around
I'm sure you're quite the expert on what it takes to be a movie star. Perhaps you should write a book.
Not sure that's accurate. He's just positive. And easy to work with.
It's not so much being devoid of cynicism, like he was color blind to it. More like he's put in great effort and intelligence to not let cynicism bring him down. Same way you can't truly be brave without knowing fear.
"Examining of who you are, so it can be reflected in your work" Tom Hanks! This segment completely a awakening for me. ThankYou
pozzozoz
ủi
That sentence right there can help actors figure out their type, if we know who we are we can reflect it in our work onstage. Thanks for this!
Hello 6 years ago wow
I met Hanks in 1987 when he was "nine movies in" (Dragnet). It's amazing to see how far he's come since then.
Wow
This man makes me so overwhelmed! I've seen Turner and Hooch, Big, Forrest Gump, The Money Pit, Castaway, All the toy story movies, Saving Mr. Banks, Captain Rogers, Mermaid, etc...

A brilliant man. He had it figured out.
What a supremely awesome human being.

the way he blurs the lines between comedy and drama 🙌
His range is very broad. Truly a master of his craft...and seeing him in Elvis as an unlikable character and still managing to play that with humanity was the icing

In every interviews that his on ...Tom Hanks is always smiling😁
I know but we shouldn't make fun. It could be medical problem.
A little part of me was hoping he'd talk with his Forrest Gump voice
When am feeling good, I watch Tom Hanks and I feel even better. Top 5 actors in the world. Not like the rest of the pretty faced hacks.
A pretty face doesn't make a good actor.
That speed is what made his early work so awesome! Respect
The MATT DAMON interview from ABC News (Australia) brought me here. Cheers, mate.
AJ Nicholas Same just that I am not an Aussie

This is inspirational. I really want to go into acting. However, I'm not studying theater & I'm graduating soon and really want to do go into this.

Interesting, but good advice from the great Tom Hanks! :)

I’d love to see Hanks do a fun comedy, in the vibe of what he did in the 80s.
