We women can HELP you figure some of this out, hopefully. If you can get some reusable plastic shopping bags from Walmart or wherever, you then can make up gift bags just like you would party bags or lunch bags. I volunteered at a food bank and made up hundreds of bags of food to be given out every month. Drop a can of ham, a box of crackers, a bag of chips, a pack of peanut butter crackers, and a drink, etc, in each bag. Fill some boxes up with these lunch bags and put the boxes in the back of your car and hand them out like trick or treat bags. Ready made is so much easier than trying to hand out a pack of this and a pack of that! 👍🏻❤️

In Australia, we have a charity called Share the Dignity which collects and distributes feminine hygiene products to homeless women and shelters so no one has to deal with period poverty. They have collection bins in all major supermarkets where you can buy products then put them in the bin after checkout.
A couple times a year they have an ‘It’s in the Bag’ drive where people can fill new or used handbags/totes with personal products for women fleeing domestic violence in shelters and on the streets. It’s hard to believe some women have to choose between buying period products or eating that day.

Those drawstring backpacks you got are what I was talking about on your other video... sort everything out and make packs with those bags with hygiene items, snacks, socks, etc - so you have them ready to just hand out. Other stuff can just go in the bins, sorted by item type (clothes, hygiene, snacks, pet items, etc). Don't be in a hurry to just give everything out. Something to keep in mind is that these are folks that are not used to generousity, and you could VERY EASILY overwhelm them if you just start loading them up with stuff (especially when they don't have anyplace to put them). You got this, Darrell!!! I know YOU are probably overwhelmed at the moment too... but I know YOU GOT THIS! Much love, my friend - and thanks for the shout outs! ❤

Great video! I would organize this stuff into categories like Food, General Sanitary, Women's Sanitary, Women's Clothes, Kid's Clothes, Men's Clothes, Shelter - tarps, tents, sleeping bags, Pet Food. You can keep a small plastic tub or cardboard box full for each category in your vehicle. For items in individual packaging like one serving food and toothpaste and soap, package in ziploc bags enough for 3 days, kind of like if you were camping. For bulk food items, I would try to package together a week's worth at a time if possible. Keep extra empty bags in the vehicle, then when you determine someone needs a sleeping bag and a shirt and some food and some sanitary items, you can quickly pack items into a bag or two and throw in a 3 day food/sanitation kit.
i see you had a second car with a trunk i gave food i didnt need to a soup kitchen nearby im poor but get snap and i had things also i have toothbrushes and paste to give from health plan im in new york people like seeing their donation work i dont know what govt assistance their is their they shdt refuse it
Awesome idea! I hope he gets help organizing and can figure a good plan to help those in need! You can’t show people what you have because they will take without really needing. I’ve seen first hand it’s like Christmas and they will go bonkers. I’ve helped out with my church

There definitely is a great need in our community and the next community over. It's so sad knowing we live in a small community and there is so many people in need. I'm watching from Sydney, Australia. It's such a lovely thing you are doing. I volunteer for an organisation which provides washing and showers, the premise really is conversation. I have learnt though that I need boundaries. I wish I could do more but sometimes I just can't. What you are doing is phenominal.❤
There has been one of my daughter's coworkers at Petco buying food and something to drink for a homeless guy that hangs out near the store. She's been doing this on and off all summer. Tonight right after my daughter left work, a homeless person showed up there saying he was going to kill himself and that he has a gun. He is outside of the store, which is located in a strip mall. Since it's Friday night, there are a lot of people shopping there who could be in grave danger. Her coworkers are on lockdown inside the store. One of them texted my daughter from inside the store to say they are all safe for now. Eight police cars were on the scene. We are still waiting for an update. I'm telling you this to give an example of how unpredictable some people can be. Homeless people are in a desperate situation, and the stress of that can make them do unpredictable things. Be careful out there and stay safe.
Wow, prayers for everyone's safety. 🙏 you are totally correct. I've been praying for Darrell every night during my talks with GOD to keep him and others who just want to help.

@@What_If_This_Was_You Everyone is safe, and the police apparently apprehended the man before he hurt himself or others. He was reported by teenagers who were hanging out at the gazebo by the store. They most likely saved his life tonight. I hope he is able to get the mental health treatment he needs.

I wouldn't want to drive people around, because of the liability to your insurance, in case of an accident.
Also you could get car jacked.
What you need to do is the little back packs just try putting the stuff inside each bag and just hand them out as much as you possibly can get in the bags this is really awesome what you are doing great job

Yes he can make women backpacks and men backpacks. That's what a young girl and her mom did here where I live.

Please please do what you want to do how you want to do it. You are helping grown adults that need everything people are sending. its easy for someone to sit at their keyboard and tell you how to run your channel. i know people are giving and falling in love with you because of your transparency and how you are going about this. This is the problem with this world is the dont do this the dont do that. if you didnt make those sandwiches a few of those people might not have had anything to eat that day . please your name is on this channel your time is being spent doing this for people and it is amazing what you are doing how you are doing it.
I agree with you however I truly believe his "elders" are simply trying to protect him from legal and possibly criminal charges. He can check with his local health department and speak to the food safety inspector to be sure of laws/ordinances in his city and ask them for advice how to lawfully proceed. I believe their heart is in the right place but I like you don't want them changing his approach too much b/c that's what made us continue following him. I do want him safe at all costs though. Darrell, something I wanted to mention is driving the homeless, what they advised you is sadly sound advice. A lot of homeless have mental illness and can be triggered by anything, or they may have not had access to medications needed, may suffer with addiction, etc. And reality is that some could unjustly make accusations against you. Darrell has a good heart, I love what he is doing but I want him safe while doing it.

Those "elders" gave excellent and some lawful advice. I hope you follow that. Please don't give out the needy or homeless women's names in front of tellers, cashiers, or other customers, right in front of those receiving help. It can be humiliating for some. It's happened to me and I was totally embarrassed! It's well-meaning but not the way to bring attention to the plight, cause, or spreading the word. Thank you. blesses.
I agree I need help but putting it out there makes us feel like we’re being judged Especially when being told out loud about how many days without a shower and not having female things that led embarrassing so please know when you pass out to them you don’t have to say what all your helping each person with that way one don’t feel like you are helping anyone more then another that’s all

No to the pepper spray. What you're not hearing is that many people with homes have mental issues, they get worse & easier hidden once your homeless ...no weapons. Are there shelters they can be referred to ?
Wonderful seeing what those awesome people sent for you to help the homeless. I hope the people who are homeless will get new tents or maybe enough money to rent them a home, to give them a new start in life. God bless and stay safe out there.
Packs of tuna, jars of peanut butter and jelly, cans of chilli, cans of soups, ravioli, loads of bread, dry drink mixes, instant coffee.some of them can cook. That leave you not liable for any food illness.❤❤❤❤

Thank you for all you do, blessings to you. So nice to see all the donations you are receiving. I thought of something, maybe if you have a 6 foot folding table or more, put them up somewhere in your house, garage or wherever you have room and that way you can stand/or sit in chair by table and sort through all boxes, open them, put in packaging or containers that you pass them out in etc. That way when you sort through boxes you receive you do not have to do all the repeated lifting from ground upwards. Over time that will hurt your back all the bending, and you mentioned your back hurting now, so maybe that would help you in the future. You could have that sorting table up for like an assembly line to put all stuff in your care packages in. Just want to have you not hurt your back:) Love the idea of the crackers with peanut butter in them and the Jack Links, also granola bars are neat, protein bars etc., packs of peanuts (if folks are not allergic to peanuts gives good protein too for folks), many RUclipsrs give out jars of peanut butter and loaves of bread so no food truck like thing with you making sandwiches, they can make their own. So many neat things viewers are sending in for you to give out. Those drawstring bags a viewer will come in handy, you can make care packages up for the homeless (prob. cheaper than buying backpacks, as sometimes Goodwill and others do not have backpacks). See RUclipsr Just Nate, he tells what he puts in Men's backpacks and what's in women's backpacks that he gives out to the homeless with Amazon wish lists of things he puts in them that folks can donate, that would give you some neat ideas if you need more ideas for what viewers can send you and what maybe is neat to put in the drawstring bags and backpacks you receive:) He puts hygiene in them, t-shirts/socks, a blanket, sometimes hot hands for cold weather and more in them. He has it down to a T now, probably from doing it for awhile. You mentioned trash sometimes folks leave around, another RUclipsr I saw gives out a few trash bags to folks over time for them to put their trash in. You are doing a great job, hang in there. Organize all the stuff in your garage.if you have a shelves or a table organize everything there and then you could pick the stuff much easier. The drawstring backpacks are prefect , you could put the clothes in there and snack here and there..
Make up goodie bags of hygiene for men & women and then bags for some food. Easier to hand out. Easier n for you to stay organized. Those orange tote bags look good for the food and gallon zip locks for hygiene. You're doing an awesome job... God bless you
Well good your getting help and advice on how go about stuff
So here's my two cents most valuable you will get
I been homeless now almost yr half so like getting from horses mouth
1 food and water are top things as for sandwiches they are right but you can help with fixings day old bread or or get cheap loaves from bread store then peanut butter can meat good any kind or the tuna in packs
As for other like Chile or beans or chefboy Rd there are some you can eat cold no problem same with canned fruit don't sweat about cooking it we know how get used cookware but things like the snack crackers and so on are good as for fresh veg it's hit or miss I'm mainly potato's juicy veg won't last unless it's one or two per person
Hygiene of any kind is welcome but always ask the ladies if they need carefully before offering
Now items folks don't think about but definitely can use mirror can be compact or handheld like me I got to cut my beard back not my throat 😂 safety scissors or regular tweezers nail file and toenail clippers and small first-aid kit and sowing kit with some extra thread electric tape and duct for repairs comb or brush and reading glasses
Plenty of dollar places carry cheap readers and folks can definitely use a pair
Now tent are great thing but it all depends on the need single person usually a two person works gives them and their stuff space
At moment I'm in a 6 person that got busted fiberglass pole at the crown of tent so iv had use local bamboo to shore things up till I can get another tent then I can repair this one with spare rods I have
But usually the tent needs to be one or two persons bigger than the person asking the measurements system for tents was done by sardine can maker real folks can't live that way in tents so bare it in mind
Also space blankets or the tarp version it can be flipped reflected side up in summer to keep folks cool and it has dromet holes for tying down
As for back packs preloaded works men's women's and kids that helps with sorting out lot stuff or folks grabbing and arguing that they got more than the other
As for religious material that can be tricky unless your clergy then it sorta expected
Also almost forgot Tupperware or sealable bowls and cups in my case we got ants so sealable stuff even bags help
toilet paper or paper towels wash cloth even the cloths they use for mechanics or just torn up old t shirts are help to keep clean
As for big stuff other than a tent a pot and pan can help just check garage sales
Buckets of several sizes for washing and hmm other things 😉😉save the plastic bags I use them to hold stuff or trash and some folks always need including trash bags also some cooking stuff like big bowls spoons spatula
It mostly play it by ear and ask and see
As for resources resale shops garage sales flea markets even craigslist and Facebook market for some items even free food human or pet
Also for folks that have phones power packs or solar powered generators or portable hand helds you can sometimes find cheap or find the right person who has bulk wanting a tax write off
Also look into being nonprofit it will help you in certain ways in getting help or grant money
Sorry to be long winded but of hot night with storm coming if you want to ask more just ask I try to catch your stuff if my phone charged up

You are doing great but I agree you should not give it all to one family give them what they need for the week for the ones who are homeless that way the ones who they stay with don’t get what the needy need I think your amazing and wish people like you lived in my hometown me and my boys are in need also and it’s rough I am in a wheelchair also so I know how it is to not have and be stuck in a wheelchair unable to provide for my family it sucks balls as you would say lol anyway you got enough stuff to make bags up and make a lot of people happy oh and by the way the other night when you couldn’t find someone I don’t think they wanted to be found so keep your eyes and ears open so you know how really appreciates what you do sending love to you and all the people who need god bless and have a good night

The draw string backpacks are ideal. Make up mens with washstuff, tooth paste , tooth brush,razzers , underwear, socks etc. Womens the same but with womens hygiene stuff.
You can always ask if theres anything else they need before handing out the clothes.
I really thought the sandwiches were a lovely idea, i really cant see the problem as long as they are kept in a cool box with icepacks the same as if you were going on a picnic. Just dont hand any food out that could give food poisoning if it heats up.
One thing i did see on others channels was solar phone chargers being handed out. I know its a long way from that yet.
Just a thought, would it be worth making a wish list on Amazon so people can see what your running low on to buy?

I make up bags, some for homeless, some for housed but hungry. I wanted to give sandwiches, am glad now that I dont. and yes it made me nervous you driving some of them around. please be careful.

I really think you should make care packages for men and women with ziploc bags and hand them out that way this way everyone gets a packages ❤ pads can be put in the women packages depends how old they are and still get there's!! Women may be in menopause.

I help out at a street kitchen for the homeless in Australia. Please take the time to watch Goodness in people Michael who is fantastic and how he works . I'm not having a go at you but I commented on one of your past post about the family with all the dog's. I don't trust the daughter ringing and ringing you then will not answer when you call her. Please keep up the good work
You helping out at the street kitchen is so respectable mate! And I really understand your concerns about the family with the dogs. I think the daughter is in such a tough and stressful situation that it's truly difficult to gauge their overall appreciation. Yet there could be an even more deserving family nearby that are praying for someone like Darrell to come along.

One thing you need to make sure to block your address to your home. Some how. aldo your vehicle license plates on both should not be shown and that goes for the homeless your helping too! Just in case. (People aren’t always good and will steal from homeless as they’ve told you.
You don’t want to give out any information that could harm anyone.

I keep a meat Claw that does shedding of meat. (It’s heavy duty hard plastic)
In my vehicle handy. If I need it it’s can save my life in need be.
Cause only taje a few seconds for anyone to attack when you lease expecting it..

They have self protection slams to have on one’s body to pull which make a Very Loud Decibel to
alert other around if there is help needed.
May scare them off!
Also they now have small glove types to use for Small pepper spray so when one is walking can have it read to protect and not have to pull spray of of pocket. It’s read to just turn to spray in your hand. Good for when walking,running or on bicycle.

When I get my S.S. check ill send some womans underware and some shoes size 10 . If the shipping isn't too much I'm on a fixed income.
i would take all the dog food to the dog kennel family so u dont need to store all all the dog food, u can then drive around like u been doing with the personal products to have them sift through as care packages, then give them some food and drink packages as well as uve been doing, its just u have more things to give thanks to donors, as others have said u might be getting more packages in the future so be ready just in case, good for u sir taking on this moral service in life
Give every group of homeless people a LG plastic bag n tell them they ney Ed to keep areas clean. Cops are more likely to Chace them away if area of junk is seen. Keep organizes. A friend of mine ( cop) told me n if using woods topoop dig a hole n cover it n woman with pads put in ground but better to put in trash bag.. Shower n get clean clothes n ask where they can get a job at if they are able to work( I live in an area with lots of homeless n I think many want to work)Just giving some advice And a friend of mine was hit over her head driving someone to a better location to live. Oh yes there are alot of fake homeless that hold up signs with 2 kids n pregnant n at end of day have $100 then drive off in a BMW. My cop friend followed this lady home to a large beautiful home. So just be safe my friend

If a person needs meds, there must be a community health go to. Maybe don't give out the meds yourself, they can pick it out themselves from a box just as they would at a store. Nobody knows if someone has an allergy to anything. Could be any item not just meds. It's a crazy world with too many rules. Put up community stations for these items that can be refilled by anyone. We have these around town with garden foods, books, hygiene items, etc. That a person can pick out themselves. They can return books when finished reading for another.

Its amazing these church elders are just like the politicians. Just give what god leads you to.
The politicians always come up woth ways to make life difficult. Make sandwiches give our donuts. The heck with them. Money goes out if this country while people are starving.

Darrell, please please reiterate to the Hutson family to check on their innocent animals. Especially in this heat, I watched the one video from last week where big boy had a mound of food(thankfully) but NO water. If he was without, wonder if all the other dogs was without too. And do those animals all have shade. I am really considering donating to help that family, BUT I'm reconsidering after watching them ignore your warning to them about their helpless dog without water. I understand humans come before animals, and they are without themselves, but that's not the dogs fault. Very frustrated in seeing that. Please tell them that viewers really want to help, but to be more mindful of their animals out there.

Truth is it's your charity you run it your way . If you want to make sandwitch or give people a ride thats your buisiness. Hearing what others s as y is advice but in the end it's your choice . One thing thats a huge hit with homlessness is the spam singles and cold drinks . Knock on doors like your grocery stores for donations . We used to hand out food to all the people at the homeless shelters in cleveland ohio with the church ministry. They just dont want you to help anybody.
Using the totes organizing women stuff and men stuff dog and cat food make tags and put on top of totes to help u better 😊
Doggie needs you and love. He's happy now. Its true, a person can turn quickly on you like a wild animal when you least expect it. I've seen it working in a hospital. People are not always appreciative, hallucinate, can be delusional, have mental issues not always detectable. It only takes one. Watch your car, yourself, and be safe.

Darrel I am binge watching your channel . Not in order. I watched the vidoe on the family of 10 please be very careful with making them dependant on you for food extra . I helped a mom and her 2 kids. It was not long before I was supplying the, with their monthly groceries and then it became a weekly call for money for transport ect. I eventually walked away as she was making no effort to get work to provide for her small family. Talking from experience.
Why are you taking advice from influencers? Did you know that in some cities and states handing out food to the homeless is protected under the first amendment? Check the laws in your city and act accordingly.
You've opened a can of worms. So, be prepared for a lot more stuff to come. Set up a place where you can seperate and organize. Perhaps some tables in a garage or tent.

not have the time to get out and do the deliveries. I would like to ask a favor of you, could you please refrain from the foul language and cussing. I find it extremely offensive, when all the cuss words are thrown in. I would like to continue watching and possibly even send something, however, I cannot continue with the foul language. Thank you!

I think it would be best to give bibles to those whom would want one rather then religious tracks that could have unsound beliefs in them.

We know it’s your choice but please pass the cat/dog foods around. Know you like that one large family but they fed their animals before you came along. And are getting money coming into the house. Are likely selling puppy’s, why they keep having them. Not every donation should go to only one place. Those little necessity bags are meant to go as a whole kit each for one person, don’t break them down. 🤔🤔🤔
I felt the same way. Those individual bags of dog food are perfect to have in the auto on hand for when he runs into someone without housing that has a dog or cat and needs to feed their companion. A lot of homeless have pets and they often will feed their pet before they eat. Those bags of food given to a homeless person means that they actually eat the ham, crackers, chips given to them v.s. giving it to their animal to eat. The homeless haven't a way to get to the shelter or pantry for the free pet food, the family with the automobiles do.
You probably give them if they ask. It's on them after they have them. By the way I am new I have watched you 2 days probably Now I am binging. I love what you are doing.
