- Not 10 minutes from my house, this happened !
Always in need of donations to help those who are less fortunate. Those drawstring back packs are the thing! You could prepack them with snacks and hygeine products. Then just keep drinks in your cooler. May be better than having to dig through all those bins every time. Bless you and the work you do. Bless those who need assistance.

Exactly what I was thinking. Things like backpacks and sleeping bags. Tents toiletries etc. He could have them prepacked and ready to go.

I'm going to say this again..Darrell you are doing great work to help people. I do wish you would stop telling where the other homeless people are located. If so many have phone's who's to say they aren't following your channel and find out where so in so is and they go and beat up or rob one of them. Just thinking about this !! God bless you!

Darrell just wondering if you have bags like the high vise ones. If it might be worth prepacking with food packages? Then adding extras if they need it?
It might save you getting a little stressed/ confused over not being able to find stuff.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the very nice gentleman that came up in the golf buggy, found your channel and saw the fantastic work you do. Then decided to sponsor you! Or even told his friends.
I think it would really help you timewise, to get organized at home before venturing out to the streets to serve. You are spending too much time shuffling the totes and digging around for stuff. This will prove important for you as the number of people you are serving increases, as well as when you are passing things out in the winter cold. Pre-pack gallon size ziplocks. Pre-pack back packs. 😊😊😊

Last time I gave out a meal in New Orleans to a lady with a sign on the street, asked me for money after I handed her food. You never know who really needs it. It just doesn’t sit well with me when I hand out food and requests start coming.
My ex who died last year , before he got disabled,was in truck for work with his boss and a guy on corner begging .his boss said watch this , stopped told guy get in and he d give him a job .which he could have. The guy cussed him out . Didn't want a job wanted money
I've had people come up to car window and say want a dollar our need money for car parts but u don't see a car
Darrell, I would be careful ever putting someone in your car. You don’t know if they are armed and you never know the intentions of some people. You are doing a mighty deed just handing out items as you are. Maybe organize the things in your totes so you can find them easier. You’re going to be rewarded in heaven one day.

I love watching your videos God will surely Bless you. One thing I suggest is putting together the men's and women's stuff in a bag before giving them out so you don't worry about them taking stuff from you.
I agree, also have a storage bag already set up with the crackers, meat, jerky, and chips, that way its a quick grab and hand it to everyone already prepared with silverware in the bag too.
Darrell ONCE again I can suggest with all the donations you get shipped to you PLUS (totes,etc.) Separate those items put them in bags so all you have to do is hand them out to the homeless when you see them.👍 Then you're not so flustrated and have so much anxiety regarding it then you don't have so many hands in the fire I'm just suggesting. 🤔
Yes to have bags full of food, the other bags of other necessities (he's good to separate those as male and female). It takes time to do this ahead of time and I think Darrell wants to get to people right away but yes, it could end up saving him time and aggravation at the back end. Not criticizing though; I am super grateful for what this man is doing.

Maybe taking some blue tape and a sharpie and labeling stuff would cut done on stress and aggravation for you. By using tape you could change lables as needed. You are so kind.

Darrell you made the right decision on the tire. He didn't need a tire right now. You need to get some of those little chairs to give out. The one's who have set on them really like em. Plus I am sure they get tired of setting on the cold ground and when it rains they can't sit.

I get sick off Macdonalds beef and I don't like the chicken or fish but if I was hungry I'd eat the chicken. We had a homeless couple out front of my house . She asked me for a FEW cigarettes I gave her one . She actually looked at it like I gave her a handful of 💩. I thought WOW entitled homeless person. The next day she knocked on my door for a shower and a FEW Cigarettes. I said no I have 2 pitbulls that bite ( truth ) and am out of cigarettes. Am barely making it myself. CRAZY

@@shoanmarie5612 yes and am older 57 and live alone . I ordered 2 cameras. I've been homeless but worked my way out within a few month's and I would of never had that gall . People these day's.

I am also concerned about the fact that he is talking about where everybody lives and where they're little communities are and it's all over everywhere for people to know and go and take advantage of them. And that you need to stop doing that You are doing an excellent job just don't do that.

I have almost came as close to being like this poor gentleman almost 8 years ago, I'm now living in a RV behind my in laws home they are getting very close to dying themselves because of their ages if they didn't have the health they still have as old as they are, I would be this guy no doubt, there are circumstances I do not care how old you are where you live how much you own just the wrong circumstances can send you there I owned my home and every thing in it, I lost every single thing I had walking out the door with just the clothes on my back, Don't judge anyone ever.

Darrell if you buy a tire at Walmart for a bike, they might be able to change it for you right at the store. Doesn't hurt to ask.
Hey Darrell if you look up the free cell phone program inn your area theyight send you some and then you can have the people register them by calling or sending in paperwork or going online for them and registering them or you can easily do it from a tablet I think 6:49

There are laws that prohibit handing out meals. We need to be careful about giving advise that may get him in trouble. That is why he has packaged and canned snacks now.
You are doing a blessed thing for the homeless, but there is a point at which you can be taken advantage of. For the guy to ask for Checkers rather than the closer McDonalds made me think he wasn’t really in need of food. He didn’t seem thankful, and to ask for a tire that wasn’t flat seemed strange. As you said, he could have returned it for cash. Maybe if you ever buy something like that, you keep the receipt so that Walmart would give him a store credit rather than cash. That would assure the money couldn’t be used for drugs.

He asked for $ first, then he wanted a hot meal and a tire. McDonalds wasn’t good enough. I think you did so much you shouldn’t buy restaurant food etc. He’s expecting a lot from a kind person! There are many more than this guy!
I love that you are making people lives a little better for them but please do not let someone in your car that you just met. You made me very nervous when you said you would give him a ride if it was not for the bike please you never know a person's intentions.

The downsides of prepackaging: less video content; viewers don't get to see what you're giving out; waste-what they don't want often gets dumped. Maybe just keep packaging up the hygiene items-male vs. female. It will get easier. Just an observation: if you watch others like Michael from Tucson, they're constantly shutting and opening doors at the same stop safeguarding the donations. Thank you for what you're doing!

The bead of his tire was about to pop out cause its so dry rotted...the bead is what holds the tire on the rim. He wasn't riding it cause the tire WILL come apart on him.
Listen to people more, your trying to help peoples needs. But the One thing he needed and actually asked for you treated him like a child over. (When you were actually wrong about the tire being "fine".)That's why he wasn't smiling at the end.
I make up bags, one color for women another for men, already made up at home so I am not searching through totes looking for stuff. I just hand them a bag, its easier. good luck and be careful.

As they (in rule) keep it up, we all may be similar if we're still breathing one day. Open eyes can see it getting ran downward on purpose.
If I were you, I'd utilize whatever coupons were available, and offer what is the best deal. Want McDonald's or Wendy's? Then if it's a 2 for lower price, I'd give the other meal to someone else you run into. That way you maximize your resources and set realistic boundaries for future encounters. Good call on the tire. If it works, don't fix it!
Yes Walmart gives you cash for everything I heard I don’t shop there much.
I don't know how all Walmart's are, but the one in my city, you have to have a receipt and photo ID to get the money back and you have to sign your name on a paper and allowed to return 3 times a month, if you don't have a receipt, you get a in store card. But you can spend at any Walmart, so if someone is trying to get liquor and smokes, they can go to a super center with the card and purchase that.
You are finally catching on with the Walmart return policy. He was hoping you would give him the cash for a tire, but he’d also accept the new tire that he could return for cash. More importantly, is that guy even homeless? 😂 I’m guessing he’s not.
