This is the first video of yours I've seen so far, can you believe it? I love the reds, blacks, Grey's and whites. That same garnet is the one I used in the diagonal swipe that I did and showed you. Keep playing with your paints, my friend. Really amazing things happen when you do.

This is amazing - I love the composition and the colour combination. You make wonderful videos, which are so helpful and are definitely not too long. Other people make videos which are 30-40 minutes long! Just ignore the criticisers and be yourself.

If I am guessing correctly, probably a very few people said the videos were too long, while thousands of the rest of us love the videos exactly the way they are. This may not be very nice of me to say but I’m going to say it; there are always people that can never be satisfied about anything and they never fail to let everybody know about it!!! I did this on 2 - 15 x 30s in gold, copper, and iridescent white on black, and a big 24 x 36 with some ripped canvas, painted copper square, curled up
embellishments stuck in a line across a negative black space. They all came out great! You were my inspiration for them!💖Thank-you so much for your tutorial!

Oh wow!! The middle swipe bit looks like a field of poppies (my fave flower) from this angle. Loving that garnet, esp with the black! Another beautiful piece!
Your vids are definitely not too long. Honestly, I’d still enjoy them if they were doubled, haha! You’re such a great teacher, and your pieces are always sooo gorgeous and inspiring! I’m not much of a painter myself (better with ink and charcoal, not that it’s saying much) but I’m trying to get a better feel for color so I can maybe start trying my own hand at pouring. I think its loosy goosy, always-a-surprise characteristics will suit me more than classical painting. Watching and listening to you has been so encouraging and helpful in understanding the mechanics of it (I’m a scientist, so it’s something I appreciate haha). And on top of it looking fun, it’s given me a really cool idea for using pouring techniques with a completely different “medium” I’ve started working with: soap! Wish me luck 😂

First, I wouldn't miss any part of your videos! The nerve! Jeez! Why people who think they know so much could tell you to shorten your vids is obnoxious, plain & simple. And, you handled it with grace & posivitivity! Second, I was looking for your video that you have a shot in opening of. White/Black cells with a black center with red & gold. I clicked on the few that looked like that on your video page, but couldn't find it. If you could tell me the date it appeared, I'd love to watch it. Well, that's how I got here! LOL! Loved the colors and it talked to me. Must say, when looking at all of the videos in your video tab, they all talk to me! I have seen a bunch...so I must catch up. Been hooked on blooms the last few months, but I'll be here! You take good care dear Cathleen. So glad you posted a multi swiped video..never saw anyone do that! I want to do an old oval kitchen table which is too heavy to tilt so, I think swiping is the answer. I have some questions ....fist, can I do this in 2 sessions stopping at the middle? Next, half is an area 27" long x37" wide, so I anticipate multiple swipes. Had your piece been larger/longer, would you just continue adding more lines of color and swipping or is there a limit? Just love your tips..adding lines, creating definition..how you play! Hope you can help, or am I crazy to try and do a table!
Janet, thanks for being here. You go girl with that table. First suggestion is after you lay down your base coat, I would get someone to help you tilt that big guy. Its important that any excess paint run off. That way you don't have to tilt after you add you swipe lines. go easy on the amount of paint you add to the swipe line, unless your up for another tilt. I suggest you tilt after your swipe. If my table was oval, I would want my center line to have a bit of a scoop to it. I think that will look better than a super defined line down the middle. Your table, so of course your call on this. You can add as many swipe lines as you like. What determines that for me sometimes is the way the first swipe goes. If it's perfect, then leave it alone. I'm going to ignore that as I never open it anyway..😁😁..gonna swipe right over it! My main concern is time and the paint starting to dry if I try to do both sides the same day..a big project. Is it possible to do each side on separate days from the middle? Sorry to be a pest..this is my first swipe. Thanks so much. I live in Northern Ontario..no swipping going on up here!

Hi Cathleen... this may have already been asked, but what brand of paper towels do you use? It really does make a difference imho.... the last swipe painting I did I used Costco Signature brand and they had little grab on the paint although they were lint free.
Miriam sorry for the delay in answering you. I missed your comment. I use bounty paper towels. Very absorbent don’t ya know 🧐 they hold just the right amount of paint for me. Great question girl 🖼🎨😊

You can never have too much knowledge/info/tips! One question - how much of your pouring medium do you add to Goldens paints. I think I’ve been wasting a lot of that precious Goldens paint by mixing 50/50.
Hello Phyllis ( my mother’s name ) golden paints have such a high pigment. You don’t need much. Courtney Hoelscher taught me this. I use one part paint to 4 parts pouring medium. Hope that helps. They go a long way. Great paints. 🎨🎨😊😊
Forgot to ask. What is your paint to Mx ratio with your golden pearl paint. That darn paint is so expensive I don’t want to use more then needed. Thanks....
Kaye it’s about 50/50. My rule is I put my paint in my cup. Then I add enough Pm it clover the top. Then I stir. If it’s to thick. I add more. To thin well you get it. Golden Paints are very fluid. Go slow With your PM and yes so damn expensive. But you don’t need much. That go a long way. Nice chatting with ya Kaye 🎨😊
