I just spent a day doing the underside of my t5 caravelle. It's a hard graft eh? All my core muscles were sore for days. Even my neck muscles! 🤣 What a workout! Good job! I will say though, i have yet to use a product that actually stops rust. When i used waxoyl the rust just came back and lifted it off. Thanks so much for the tip, I shall look into it, will probably make a second video on how she has held up 👍🏻🤞🏻
Yeah fords don’t have the best rep re rusting 😬worth preserving the babies though 🤗
@@annagriffiths717 sure is , doesn't help when its white either 😂 cavity and sill injection next 👍 look forward to the next video , happy new year 😀
@@trev815 I know white hides no sins 😩 mine is pearlescent cream, she’s just had a new side losing door and both wings being changed and sprayed in mint on the wknd and will touch up my bonnet if enough paint and may pop a mint stripe on the bottom to hide a few dodge bits 😜 Blwyddyn Newydd Dda 🥂
Nice job, although I used rust converter. Takes no time to spray it and in an hour you have a good gripping surface to work with.
Thanks, didn’t take me long to actually paint it was the rubbing down. Will see what she’s like in a couple of months again now and use power tools for a deeper rub down for better prep 🙏🏻 will check out rust converter 🙋🏼♀️
Did you thin the underseal?
No it didn’t say to thin it on the tin? Are you supposed to? It’s a pre mix I used
@@annagriffiths717 just interested. Some people recommend thinning it. Good video BTW, wish o had access to a pit!
Ah ok, I didn’t thin it as I painted it on, I think people who spray it on use a thinner as only want a small layer and go over it a few times but I prefer to paint as I can get into corners and make sure it sticks. (I’m no expert though) 🤷🏼♀️ I’m very lucky my dad has a pit and I’m petite so wasn’t bending a lot 🤣
Check you out! Awesome job Anna 🙌🥰 Roo has had a pamper sesh!! 😆💚
Haha yeah doing what I can to try help preserve, will do this annually now and see what works / helps 👍🏻
Always so efficient and hands on👍🥰girl power💕looks lovely

Good job now do mine .
Hehe thanks for watching, just a novice but it has to help and good to keep on top of things 😊🚎
I wish I could work that quick 😂🤣😂🤣
Haha me too, the magic of editing and Timelapse 😆 thanks for watching, worth doing yearly, next nice free day I need to get under there again
I wish I had your enthusiasm and energy I'm going to spray mine on when I finish the welding (eventually) 😊😊👍
Yes do it the right way round, the old babes will never be rust free but we do what we can to help 🚎💕 and keep for longer
@@annagriffiths717 great job Anna, at least the oils in the underseal and waxoyl should soak into the dry rust and help slow it down, it's a 100 x better than doing nothing 😊
@@trevorford9432 yes this is also my theory - do something rather than nothing and look at it regularly, I spend where I need to to keep her on the road as she’s loved and cherished 🚎🚎
A girl with balls 👍👍👍
Haha thanks, I’ll do anything to preserve my baby 🚎 probably needs looking at again now 😬 will use power tools next time too and a 😷, Anna
Such a messy job isn’t it!
Yeah it’s not the best but worth it to try preserve the babies 💕🚎 need to get under her again soon see how it’s all held up 😬🙈🤞🏻

@@vwtransportersandmotorcycl3729 awesome well done 👏 stick at it, well worth doing. I need to get under again and use power tools to rub down next time for a deeper clean 😬

Haha 😆 yep a polly pocket like me can fit under most vehicles. Thanks for watching, I’m enjoying the editing - just need to get out more 🙋🏼♀️🚎🏕🏄♀️
Вы просто большой молодец!!!

Please wear a mask next time, rust dust is not good for the lungs.
Mine wasn’t that bad with being on the pit and not directly stood under often but I should have worn a mask - wearing one all day for work 🤦🏼♀️ so should have put on automatically 🤦🏼♀️
@@annagriffiths717 Yes !! Lol.💜💜💜
Молодец малая!)

As beautiful as you are, Please wear a mask next time. Greetings form Cardiff XX
Ah thanks David 😊 💯 % should have worn a mask 😷 ironically wear one all day for work unless outdoors and alone so completely did not thing 🤦🏼♀️thanks for watching, Anna
Even the new transporters have this issue they really cheaped out on the steel german car manufacturing has done for yeaaars fiat for example learned the hard way with the beta you will find less problem rust under a 10 year old fiat than you will with a 3 year old german vehicle the grade of steel is shocking
Thats why when you search spray wax all you get is VW, BMW ,Mercedes crap steel
This is why we need to treat regularly to keep on the road and welders in business 😂 to be fair any other vehicle gets scrapped if too much work but at leas the VW vans hold their money. Not many old fords and fiat vans on the road. I understand what your saying though 👍🏻
Muito bom parabéns pelo seu trabalho. Tenho uma VW Caravelle 2.4 Diesel com 70.000 Km originais de fábrica Alemanha. Yes my dad is a mechanic so he teaches me to look after the old girl 🚎 she is 24 so will be rusty so just do what I can by hand. No expert but want to keep her and still learning

That is a not a nice job to do. Well done for getting stuck in.
Thanks, I just thought every little helps. Been a couple years now so probably due getting back under there for another rub down 🙈 MOT next month again so will see if any “new welding” required 🤞🏻😬
@annagriffiths717 Best of luck for the MOT. Mine is due next month too. Windscreen has started leaking so that will be coming out in the spring. I'm sure that will reveal a rusty surprise haha. Still love the van, it just needs a bit more love the older it gets.
@T4TipsGuides also looking into getting my front window out to treat the booboos next year after MOT. Had it looked at, no replacement needed just a rub back & respray so 🤞🏻 lucky the babies 🚎 are worth it 🤗
@annagriffiths717
They are, indeed. I've owned my T4 for over 17 years. I would never sell. We've been through so much together.
@T4TipsGuides fantastic 🤗💜🚎 I’ve had mine for 15 years too. Definitely a keeper as at the point of no return and definitely more expensive to replace than keep fixing

Damn, just started watching as I have (at 73) developed an interest in under vehicle rust and ways to avoid it but I must comment,
I CAN'T BELEIVE YOU ARE BREATING THIS SHIT!
At least use a mask! You are way too young to be inhaling no telling what in this dust.
Sorry for the fatherly spanking, just hurts to watch. //ji
Yes thanks for the advice, a lot have commented I will be wearing a mask 😷 next time for sure 👍🏻 I didn’t have one to hand and with covid I couldn’t use my dads so carried on regardless 🙈 luckily it was well ventilated under the pit as outside but I 💯 %see your point. The stupidest thing I've seen! Not only did she coat the rust, but also painted the chassis of the car! Do not show this to normal people, as the car will not drive longer, but will only rot faster!
What?? This is what this paint is for? It’s Kurust wax oil?? The chassis is metal so any protection is better than letting the elements eat at it. I had this professionally done back in 2019 by welders and they did the same. Unsure what you are on about 🤷🏼♀️ this isn’t a rust cure it’s to prevent further corrosion and protect the rusty metal from external salt, stones and debris on roads. This will be looked at and done every year to keep on top of it 👍🏻 hope this gives you clarity. I’m not an expert just trying to keep my baby on the road for as long as I can 🚎💜
