May Allah Bless and Reward Both of You in this Life and in the Hereafter.
Bro Paul Williams, your efforts in introducing Islam to non Muslim public far exceed those of any other Muslim scholar. May Allah bless you and your efforts.
@motnabbi1
Excuse me, but I am a non-muslim and the *actions* of muslims speak far louder to us than any words.
Does the Quran say anything about muslims needing to call out their own when they are anything but peaceful?
Ameen
Paul Williams, you touch on topics that are so timely and the signs of the hour. Thank you.
You are very welcome
Great channel
Excellent topic and May Allah reward Professor Ghaly
inshaAllah
Thanks Paul for inviting Brother Ghaly, a friend of mine at Leiden.
Finally, a discussion on AI. Thanks for hosting this presentation Paul!
Welcome to guest and blessings of god to brother Paul.
Highly anticipated, jazzakallah Paul
Thanks!
many thanks!
Thanks for bringing up important subjects. FYI some other Muslim scholars who have also spoken meaningfully about AI are Charles Upton and Muhammad Faouzi al-Karkariyy
where can we find the lectures by shaykh karkariyy on this topic ?
May Allah bless you
We "experienced" ethics in order to learn it..hands-on experience generate our human 'critical, logical" minds. We need "experience" to develop our 'conscious-emotions-intellect"
Thanks

Assalamu Alaikum!
Brother Paul, will you please make a video about Salahuddin Ayubi and Palestine?
السلام عليكم

Perhaps this explains why the scholars of the Ummah were hesitant and unconvinced about certain aspects of worldly knowledge, leading them to ban the printing press and discourage engagement in philosophy and certain branches of science. This hesitation contributed to Muslims falling behind in science and technology, despite their pioneering contributions to modern science, such as algorithms. They understood the potentially destructive power of these sciences, which is why they advised against pursuing such knowledge. Today, we can observe the detrimental effects they foresaw in both the present and the near future.
I am first to like this video
Assalamualaikum
Any one that knows a little bit is teaching on RUclips.
You dont get many Scholars on RUclips. Some are just there to make money. So it is dangerous to gain knowledge on RUclips if one is not careful, specially young people trying to learn.
Assalaam aleykum. Very interesting topic. Am afraid when the time comes and people looking for fatwa (rullings) from chatgpt 🤔🤔🤔

41:13 hierarchy of being (maratib wujood) & AI
45:00 soul as indicator in hierarchy of being
1:02:43 is AI assisting or replacing human?
Thanks thanks
Interesting ...
Brother Paul, your question about autonomy could he posed about people who have no autonomy like mentally disabled or perhaps even infants. Does that mean they do not have rights?
Also with AI they can imitate Scholars voices on RUclips. Hard to tell if its authentic.
We don't need a caliphate to regulate such matters. We need open-minded Muslim scholars and to educate our own people in the best possible way. If the caliphate were valid today, it would most likely accept the jurisprudence of fiqh that it considers correct and reject the others, and it is very likely that politics and politics are in the background of this decision. Which is a horrible thing
42:20 if rocks do not have a mind then why does the Quran say they will bare witness to our actions? How can something bare witness without a mind or consciousness?
Salam hajji Paul, very nice topic to delve into. For sure the AI will be misused by the very malevolent unethical unreligious unholy people in charge of big tech ourdays, but still I think this is a great advance that would have been great otherwise. Anyway I would have liked to add this comment, after having been experimenting with the chat AI I could only notice how well it was able to at least reformulate what is being told it. And for what I remember from my school years, reformulating in one's own words a statement was a proof considered as acceptable of actual understanding. This is why I can say now quite confidently that not being able to listen carefully to someone and have his statements reformulated is below all expectations from a human individual, and the common lack of engagement in intellectual basic stuff that a machine can do is a true disappointment. And now we know what is indeed basic stuff thanks to the machine performing so well and easily in it.
Any book (s) recommended on AI?

49:47 why can't Allah order an angel to breathe the soul into an AI?
He may be a professor but his speaking is a a a a
The guest said eeeee, eeee, eeeeee, eeeee so many times while speaking that i had to to check out after several minutes
I thought this was about AI, but the dude spent probably 50% of the talk going very slowly from oral tradition, through the invention of paper, to printing, to probably toilet paper. I just pity whoever hired this "professor."
