If the only way to ease the pain is by numbing yourself then so be it. Listen to music, do shit that doesn't necessarily make you happy but at least it doesn't make you feel depressed. Reject the sad feelings. You've made it this far, why give up now? Embrace Stoicism. Learn to love yourself. If you get rejected, it's their loss. You didn't do anything wrong. If you are struggling to make the first move, just do it. If you get rejected, you'll be thankful that you tried now instead of being stuck in an endless loop of uncertainty. You have to push the limits in life, but you can do that. Self pity is never going to solve anything, it just makes your problems worse, so don't even think about it. You are the main character in your own life.
