Its been just over 2 weeks on Keto. I have uncontrolled Fibromyalgia and Dysautonomia specifically Neurocardiogenic Syncope. I had swollen hands and ankles on top of that. Well now I am down 21 pounds since Wednesday (2 week mark). My joints no longer hurt, my skin is not painful to the touch, my knee is no longer swollen and I have more energy. I seem to IF without thinking because I am no longer hungry. I am convinced that this just may save my life. I have been suffering for 10 years with this and I feeeellllllllll wonderful. Mental clarity is coming back.

I really want to put this out there for anyone that's had a hard time losing weight. I've tried everything from Atkin's, Weight Watchers, South Beach Diet, low carb, low fat, no fat, low glycemic, to even being a vegan for a year. I gave each method at least one year of strict adherence to the plan and only lost weight while being a vegan. The only difference was that I was also intermittent fasting during that time. So I decided to give keto/IF a try and in two weeks I've dropped a little over five pounds. That doesn't sound like much to most people but when I say that I've been unable to lose weight, I mean I literally gain a small amount each day no matter what I've done. So thank you Dr. Berg. You've saved my life and I am finally seeing the numbers go down instead of up and it feels so good!

I injured my back about 6 years ago. As a result I experienced chronic pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 3 years. And it was a lot of very intense pain! After the first 3 years I was still in chronic pain, but with small occasional reprieves. So, I was in pain about 98% of the time.
About 5 years after the chronic pain started, I discovered fasting. I read and learned as much as I could. I started with intermittent fasting for some months. That helped some. Then I did a couple of prolonged fasts. My longest one was 17 days, water only. During that fast was the first time in years that my pain and inflammation completely disappeared, even if only briefly. But, every time I fast and have fasted, my pain and inflammation drops significantly!
I currently eat one meal a day 4-7 days a week. I occasionally have a second meal. And of course I eat a ketogenic diet. I'm bordering on carnivore.
Just wanted to share in case anyone else is going through something similar and can benefit from knowing my story.
P.S. Completely cutting out sugar and grains (before I knew about keto) made a big difference as well.

I have chronic inflammation that’s about six inches in area around my chest for about a year. It doesn’t hurt but if I press on the bones around the area, it hurts. I am fasting right now (60 hours in so far), and I can see it working. The area of inflammation has been reduced to two inches around my chest and the pain was also reduced to around 10%. I’m planning on a 5-7 day fast, so I’m assuming that the inflammation would be gone 100% within a day or two. I have so much energy that I feel I’d be able to fast for 30 days, but 5-7 days should be enough for me. Stay strong.

Thanks to Dr. Berg I am finally taking care of my diet ... I had an L4-L5 surgery 6months ago at 24 and after that, I pretty much lost my ability to do many of the exercises and eventually, I gained weight most of which rest on my lower belly area. I am not overweight though I just have some belly fat which I want to get rid of. Watched a lot of your videos in the past week and damn am I enlightened. Started watching the wheatgrass juice video first and then fatty liver and so on ... My pursuit of becoming internally healthy finally started, thanks to you Dr. Berg. ACV, lemon juice, wheatgrass juice and IF ( I'm doing it all ) Let's see how it goes down the road :)

Never felt better and clearer in my head. Wondering if there's a way of making an IF community under your leadership to share experiences, meet-up once a year or something and keep up the motivation and spread the msg even louder.

  • @JH-qy8no

It does work, I tweaked my back at work and 12 hours into the fast it already feels 10 times better. The key is avoiding sugar in your diet and high glycemic foods long before you even think about fasting. It makes fasting 10 times easier because you've stored up key nutrition in your body and so you can go longer without feeling hungry.

Brilliant. I also attest this works, having chronic sinusitis and a bit of arthritis already in my 40s, at some point the pain of an illness is greater than the discomfort of fasting and radically changing one's diet. Over 9 years have quit smoking and stopped eating the typical American toxic diet, lost 34 lbs, and worked up to OMAD. Still a long way to go yet.
