    I bought one of these things. I watched every video I could find on the installation process. Yours's is the best of all the video's by far. The rest of those chumps didn't have the balls to show the wiring hook up. They were probably afraid of a law suit or something, that's my guess. The one's that did were showing new construction or new wiring stuff, not retro fits. Thank you! I now have a working fan/light in my bathroom.

      Agree with the previous commenter strongly on wiring parts! Jim, you solved my problem of the blue wire. The black wire and blue wires of the light should hooked together to the black wire. The black wire of the fan should hook to the red wire. Two thumbs up!!!

    Yes, I agree. We should wear a mask and safety glasses working on exhaust fan. There is ton of dust up there! My 10 yr old exhaust fan started making funny noise after I changed a light bulb and tried to clean the dust out. Your video quality is much better than the other one that also was for installing a combo. Thank you for making this video. It might be useful for me soon😁😁😁😁

    This looks to confusing for me, but my son in law does electrical work, I need a new Kitchen light with a fan, the light I have now isn't very bright and I want a bright light in the kitchen.
    Now I'm off to watch your new video, testing out the dog collar, that should be good!

    If you want more room to work when wiring this unit there is a single screw on the back of the unit where the knock out is and the whole entire junction box opens up

    You did good, I’d of had a beer sooner though? I have only one switch so I’m guessing both light n fan will go on together?

    My light is “pulsing” 10%, 50%, 80% and then 100% then starts over and the fan is running at like 10%. I switched the hots and now nothing. Don’t have a lot of access so might need to go into attic tomorrow and see which wires are going where. Two switches; one to fan and one to shower light. Hope it’s an easy fix. Maybe a loose wire.

    I have only one hot wire coming from the switch . Can I connect fan and light black wires to the single hot wire? (don't care about night light)

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  2 года назад +2

      I’m sure that will be ok. You will just have the fan on every time you turn on your light.

    Should this fan be sucking up air from both sides of the grille? I noticed on my fan which is the same only sucks up air from one side of the grille.

    how do you replace the light bulb? Can’t seem to find access to it…

    • @DIYJIM
      @DIYJIM  2 года назад +1

      Not sure, but I do know there is not a bulb probably have to order a special light to replace it. I would go to Lowe’s or where you bought it and see if they have a replacement.

    Question to anyone who owns this fan what's the lumens or brightness as a sole light source in a bathroom?

    The homemade fan I have is located 25 feet from the bathroom. Six inch square duct made from sheet metal. Never saw a round exhaust fan. Don't feel bad about losing your hair it just means you have more testosterone.

      Chris... Dude, there ain't no sense in putting someone down for choosing not to utilize the night light feature. Most people won't use the night light feature. It's a lot more work if you don't already have 3 installed light switches. And most people don't. Thank you for the video man. It helped me see what I have to do with my Panasonic fan exhaust/light system.

      I'd love to have the night light and motion sensor, but running new power through the walls just isn't feasible for me in the short term. I just need a working fan.
