    Hey Kajol, I recently started watching all your videos on consulting and I love them. Keep going with the same level of enthusiasm! I have a request..could you please create content on what analytical skills will be required for a management consultant to draw insights out of data, the most demanded skills etc..?

    The only 2 things that determine if you will be successful in getting a salary adjustment: 1) are you a valued member of the team 2) are you likely to be offered a better offer at a competitor. If not, good luck.

    Best way to get big pay rises quickly is to switch firms every 2-3 years. Get promoted and then jump.

    Did you notice salary difference when you was within a graduate role ? Or is this specifically for promotions after graduate roles ? X

    • @KajolPhadnis
      @KajolPhadnis  3 года назад

      Just between strategy vs non strategy consulting usually in most firms. And definitely you see a gap for people who are experienced hires vs who came through the graduate scheme...after grad roles

      Being real I didn't at that time because when I joined there was one salary everyone started at across the board so it was fair. However there is always no harm in trying!

    Great points! I see how your tips apply to my current job. But I am just not so sure how this works for Big4 when ppl from other fields are hired. E.g. As an experienced Engineer, Deloitte basically told me they are interested but I have to start as a Sr. consultant in order to learn how the projects are handled. I was happy until I learned that Sr. consultant roles are wayyyyy below what industry jobs offers me :/ Should I negotiate the salary with the hiring manager or do you think it doesn’t make sense because Deloitte salary ranges are too narrow?

    • @KajolPhadnis
      @KajolPhadnis  3 года назад +2

      Strategic - depends when you think you'll be promoted to next level. You usually go to the bottom of the pay band everytime you get promoted. If you think you'll be promoted to Manager next year may be better then but I always think no harm in trying to get your salary negotiated NOW

    Don't give a number is not a good advise. You should always use the anchor effect to achieve the best result.

    • @KajolPhadnis
      @KajolPhadnis  3 года назад

      I personally feel that recruiters are so numbed down to anchor effect because they literally do this day in and day out and see people come up with random / over the top figures
