One last ride, and one hell of a one too, it won't be the same without Bane and so many of the heisters. I just hope Payday 3 will continue this amazing storyline, even if it's not as bombastic as the Payday 2 story with the Mayan gold and soul swapping.
The storyline won't be a continuance there has to be parity between both consoles and pc going forward consoles didn't play any of this shit it wouldn't make any since at all.
Unfortunately, that doesn't look like it'll be the case with 3, even if they do eventually manage to get it into an actual good state with things like progression, variety and more.
No one is saying it, but I'll say it. Your thumbnails are going so hard lately. It just shows the amount of work you put into everything, and I love it. Keep it up, Kknowley!!!
Don't know whether to be happy or sad that I'm finally seeing this video, I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and can't wait until Payday 3s story (and the videos to come). Although it's come to an end, I'm glad to see Payday thriving again and I hope the story is just as good as Payday 2s, if not better (I really enjoyed Payday 2s story regardless of how goofy it was).
It's interesting because this was one of the first campaigns that had canon events which dictate the way heists went down. Esteban dying and the newspaper articles sort of force Midland loud. The mention of the crane opperator receiving good publicity meant that had to happen on Lost in Transit and we see Hostile Takeover went loud from the news broadcasts on Cude Awakening. Crude is the only one we don't know for certain, but seeing as the heist forces you loud for the escape, I decided to commit to it narratively!
Its my personal headcanon that Rainey was on the oil rig but escaped before it blew up. As you ride in the boat to escape, you can see another boat also fleeing the rig. I assume this is Rainey who survived but her company and reputation are destroyed beyond repair
@creeper4599 Shayu also said she was looking forward to working together again even though she only had one heist. She could be a future contractor as well as Keegan, Jiu Feng, Vlad, Elephant, Locke
@@creeper4599Interesting idea, but a part of me wonders if, after everything she was exposed for, she may very well be in prison by the time of Payday 3, assuming she survived. She was involved in legitimate crimes, not just slightly dodgy corporate warfare.
It’s been a wild ride through payday 2. Through all the heists and the crazy story, seeing the oil rig go up in flames at the end of crude awakening, I couldn’t possibly think of a better way to cap off 10 years of an amazing game. Payday 2 may have ended, but that doesn’t mean it’s story has. See y’all in payday 3, and let’s keep that batshit crazy story running.
love that you always describe the gang as competent but not infallible or prone to error well maintaining the belief that we are talking about professional heisters. Makes them that little bit more human.
I've recently re-watch every story vid to get back to this point hell of a game that started from banks to immortal dentist ending with a awakening of burning an oil rigg to the ground.
I love how Blaine had really good heists in payday 2 then they brought him back for another top tier heist in payday 3 lol seems he’s gonna be a reliable source for good heists
This vid brought me to tears, this last PAYDAY 2's 240th update, PAYDAY 3 just in the corner... thank you, Kknowley, for this series, it was very entertaining to watch! And now... let's go for The Story of PAYDAY 3.
And what an absolutely fantastic way to end it. If this is where the entire franchise ended, I'd have been happy. But it isn't. We have more to do, more to learn, more to know. I just hope it's even half as good as the story of PAYDAY 2. Helps that the music out of these heists, especially On the Road, is absolutely fantastic. Gustavo hasn't filled the hole that Simon left in my heart, but he's found his own place, making music that's just as good as (if not better than) Simon's. He's the right man for PAYDAY 3, and he's already shown that off with the song for No Rest For The Wicked.
My only minor gripe i have with the texas heat squad is that it didnt include Houston. If this side-story is the last in Payday 2's history at least let it be tackled by a heister who's namesake is from texas but to also prove that Houston can be a good leader like his older brother.
I think OVK themselves might be lost in the sauce after all these years. If not for you being the payday historian, I wonder whether we could’ve gotten lore as smooth as this during the end of payday 2z
Now to wait for you to hot-glue the revival era DLCs onto The Complete Story of Payday and reupload it as "The REAL Complete Story of Payday!" the day Payday 3 drops.
Cant wait to see the story unfold, but this is an end of a chapter and when September 21st arrives a new chapter will begin and I hope our allies in Texas come knocking, as well as our favorite Ukrainian come calling with their crazy unplanned hiest
Storyline wont be a continuance Consoles didn't even play any of this they can't make it cannon anything only PC played isn't cannon it wouldn't make any sense at all gota go a whole new direction so there can be parity between both console and PC going forward if that did that console players wouldn't have no idea what's going on that would be retarded as fuck and a big mistake.
Though I only play on console I was always kept up to date with the entire story and wow it has been an amazing one what a ride it has been even though I couldn't really enjoy the updates like the PC players could but I still enjoyed my time on console and now that I have a PS5 I cannot wait to play Payday 3 in all of it's glory. *Imma miss you Clover* 🍀😢
Hey Kknowley, what sort of crossover content would you want to see in Payday 3? Personally I'd love a Lupin III crossover that adds Lupin as a heister. He'd have a more realistic appearance to suit Payday's world but he has a number of masks based on his facial expressions in the anime. His default mask is a rubber mask based on one of male civvie models and is unique in that he wear the mask in casing mode then removes it when masking up (could be literally the mask up animation played in reverse). This plays into Lupin's master of disguise skills and emphasises a distinction between him and the rest of the gang: he wants the cops to know he did it and is a known wanted criminal so he starts in disguise and reveals his face once leaving casing mode. His signature weapon is a Luger pistol and he could introduce a skill tree related to using disguises. Additionally if a player is using Lupin it causes some audio to change. The FBI Van operator's audio will change to include additional lines featuring Detective Zenigata talking about taking down Lupin and the Payday Gang and arguing with operator over if Interpol has jurisdiction on the operation. Similarly if the sniper preplanning favour returns, the sniper's voicelines are replaced by Jigan if Lupin is present. These voiceline changes are purely clientside and can toggled off completely, if anyone plays as Lupin or only if the player chooses Lupin in case people find crossover content immersion breaking or hate anime stuff.
I do kinda want to pick up these final DLCs, but they total the cost of Payday 3 still, i cant bring myself to spend it. At least i know the story now, so thanks.
when more strory comes out for pd3 are you planing to update the complete story of payday video or is that going to be left as is with a new one being made?
Looking back at the exploding oil rig as you speed away is the closest you can get to inner peace.
Looking back at the exploding oil rig as you escape with your Texas comrades fills you with determination.
