Why Management Positions Fetches More Remunerations ?

Its a rather well known fact that in tech as well as in many other places, people in management positions get more salaries than people who do the core technical jobs. It also seems to be an accepted norm.
In this video I'm talking about this topic but i am not saying whether its right or wrong because it totally depends upon the individuals. However, I'd like to share some of the insights on why this is so?
The main reason for the same is that people who take the decisions are the people who get more salary, more exposure as well as more limelight because even though hundreds of people might be involved in implementing the decisions, but if something goes wrong, nothing will happen to hunderds of people who are working on the same. They will move to some other work but the person who took this decision will have hard time in saving his or her job.
This is because decision making is an extremely complex undertaking and it comes with a huge risk. No matter how much preparation we do before taking any decision, there is no guarantee that the decision will be successful. So the person bears the risk will be paid more.
Now I am not saying that this is true for all the cases, but this is the rational behind why this happens.
