@smokemonster as someone who has deleted all his social media history multiple times (times change, you change sort of thing), no judgment from me. I did love your previous work, and hope nothing bad happened that made you delete.
This is great, nice room! I am in the process of setting up a small home theatre setup in my living room. It will be a mixed use space so I can't go full blackout or anything. I grabbed a set of Klipsch RP-600m speakers to start, along with an older Denon receiver. I will be adding speakers to the setup as I can. The RP-504c centre speaker looks pretty nice, so I may grab that!
Thanks for sharing! Lots of great stuff you did for soundproofing. Many people jump straight to crazy DACs/power amps before fixing acoustic issues so it's great to see that being handled so well.
Thanks, it's modified with a preamp gain control and is modded to basically be a bass heavy Plexi. It's my first love and has served me well as both a bass and guitar amp.
It's a shame the MiSTer videos went, your channel was bookmarked in my Help dir. should I need to setup or build again. Loving this room though, looks like some high end gear. I really like that black velvet curtain on rails though, really transforms the room into like being in a real cinema
Is it warm in that room with all those blankets or curtains . Looks like a cool place to hang out with a bunch of buddy's. I just think projector is to dull. Needs a dark room. IDK i never own one. That projector i bet is very good. looks like a lazer one.
I went with Focal On Wall 302 for my L/C/R. They are pretty flat and sound great, but they are a little $$$. Probably wouldn't work well with the Klipsch sound signature though.
I have a short throw laser as well, and I love it better than my Samsung LED in many cases! The cinematic experience really is no match! But I use a dark matter paint on my wall instead to boost the contrast. I am glad you are doing more videos! Happy new year bud!
I actually remux my discs on my PC and then stream them through Plex. That saves you from having to swap them and deal with menus, highly recommend that method.
Very cool setup 👍 I'm also into the home theater hobby, ironically today I bought a new home theater receiver I bought the Marantz Cinema 50 and some other gears.
Super comfy setup. The movie theatre style carpeting will hopefully complete the look. I always imagined if I was making a movie theatre room I'd have a movie theatre popcorn cart and an arcade cabinet and pinball in the outside hallway. Nice that it does 3D and 4K, for $3000 it better :P Hopefully they do a firmware upgrade at some point to give you the promised features. Thanks for the tour!
I got the 40% off launch price when the Chroma Indiegogo first launched, but even that felt very expensive. It took almost a year to ship too, overall it's good but the firmware issues are ridiculous.
Awesome set up! Sadly I don't have a budget anywhere near what all this costs, my system is probably equal to one of those klipsch towers :D I'm jealous
That setup looks amazing, I'm hoping to get into surround sound with a basic $400 Logitech PC speaker system that has optical, I know it's not the best but I want to get my foot in the door with something that can do surround sound, plus I did some research and theoretically I could take the speakers and use them with a regular receiver if I swap up the sub because the speakers use normal speaker wire and everything just plugs into the subwoofer on the Logitech setup. So in the end I'm hoping to maybe make it so that I have bookshelf speakers for the front and rear sides, and then have the smaller Logitech speakers mounted above me for Atmos. But of my experience ideas in my head never turn out happening the way I planned them but you never know.
@@SmokeMonster I'm setting up a 2tb SSD I got for $94 as we speak on my RGH3 360... I seen someone playing their 360 in a dark home theater and its amazing!!!
Love the idea of the curtains
Oh my, he's back!
These triple-laser projectors are great for the stunning visuals, and the great UST capability.
What happened to your old videos? Those are what got me into MiSTer and they were so well done!
Probably a “you had to be there moment” maybe moving on to other thing
Yeah, they were the treasures that came and gone. They are really of the highest quality, too bad many people will never get to see them

I literally just looked for one of them two days ago and I was shocked to find them all gone
@Kramer, same here

Nice setup! I went the same route hanging bookshelf speakers from the ceiling.
Hey, I missed this video 2 weeks ago and thought about you by chance. Glad to know you're doing good. Any plans regarding the gaming content?
Excellent setup, Blade Runner looks awesome on a big screen.
It's just gorgeous, Trumbull was a genius with the effects
Great now I'm looking up home theatre systems, Ed shakes fist. Blade Runner looks awesome
I will await my kickbacks from the AV sector.
@@SmokeMonster big surge in AV googling
Damn Smoke! Looks awesome.
Thanks, that means a lot coming from you ♥️
Sweet setup! That old Traynor head is pretty rad too. 😎

Nice! I dream to have something like this again.
Dammmmnnnn looks great man.
Good stuff!

Yes, it can get pretty warm in there!
Hi SM. What did you use to anchor your 600Ms to the ceiling?
Here's what I used: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CSA2Y18
Very nice.

Put those rears at head height behind chairs, happy new year!
Neat! And unexpected 😊
Is it me or did you have lots more videos before?

I bought a klipsch on wall speaker. What was the center speaker that you returned?
RP-404C II
@@SmokeMonster you should look at the RP-640D on wall. You might like it. It works for me and hangs with my RR-280f.
Dangit, i got a lousy Ibanez Soundgear :) Nice room!
Glorious. Does your plex server house the 4k Blu-Ray player?

Oh, very nice! My AVR is the weak point right now, I'd love to get a Marantz one day.
Very very nice
Thanks a lot

You can do a lot with $1500 for a theater setup. $800 projector, DIY screen or white wall, affordable speakers and sub. Used AVR, etc
Vave chroma or awol LTV-3500 is a dilemma (screen 137 inches 16/9)

Where can we get your MiSTer videos?!?!?!
You could just bring the screen forward off the wall. What happened to all your old videos?
You could have turned those subwoofers on, while we wouldn't have heard it we could see it on the USGS website that tracks earthquakes
Hook up your RGH'ed 360!! :)
Oh god, that is a great idea

great setup! what stand do you have your center speaker sitting on if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks, it's sitting on two "On-Stage SMS4500-P Desktop Monitor Stands"
Dude you wiped all your Mister videos, why ?
Always surprised when people make an effort, and then use Plex to watch media instead of something that is actually good at decoding video.
Smoksback!
Damn those Jurassic Park statuettes are awesome. Why do I always find out about things when its way too late & overpriced? 🥲
I feel your pain, these are the only two I managed to get too. I've seen a million I want but they're sold out before they're even for sale it seems.
