      @@raghibphotography Hey Ali Raghib, We had a theater in my home town of Magee,Mississippi back a few years ago and I actually worked there for 3 months tearing movie tickets before it went out of business.. For now it is to be remodeled and opened up as a children's autism mental facility.. But yes the theater was my very first job and if I ever wanted to open up my own theater one day, where would I buy my theater seats and how would I get the latest and greatest movies? I know they are displayed on a projector, but how do they get there? How big should your basic theater in a small town be? The one in Magee was 7,500 Square Foot and featured a three screen cinema and arcade with mostly claw machines and pinball machines when I worked there.. The theater movie rooms were color coded, blue, red and yellow and it corresponded with your ticket color

      @@raghibphotography Also at the theater in Magee, we had popcorn and nachos and all that good stuff.. It was open in 1985 and closed officially just a few months after I started working there as the year was 2010.. For 13 years it was left abandoned

    I just sort of came across this channel while browsing home theatre setups - and I must say, Ali is a natural presenter and his voice is very calming for me, and he comes across as humble as well. A guy that simply wants to share his knowledge without coming across as arrogant or condescending - no gimmicks, no wacky sounds or quick flashy cuts, just pure aesthetic content. Thank you Ali, from your new subscriber...

    Dude, the thing I love about your AV setup, is you dont have a half dozen amps on your rack... You have a nice size room, & I know those Klipcsh speakers kick out serious sound.
    Which just shows that all those amps people have are just overkill. You really can have nice sound without all that.
    Kudos to you good Sir for your nice theater 🙏🏿

    Amazing setup and explanation, if I see this 2 years ago I would have designed my theater much better :) And overall your basement looks awesome.
    A couple of things:
    - Can you please explain in detail how you did for Ceiling Fiber optics lighting?
    - Details about the door - more details on how did you do with the black fabric, etc?

    • @raghibphotography
      @raghibphotography  Год назад +4

      Thanks Ragu!
      I am working on another video to help others who are designing for the first time! So please subscribe and spread the word :)
      1. Ceiling fiber optics were done on MDF sheets. Just bought a motor off amazon that is easily accessible and replaceable. Drilled each and every hold to achieve a custom pattern on that MDF and sticked the lights through. It was a very long tideous job. Took almost 5 days but totally worth it! I didn't want to pay someone double the cost and most were doing it with fabric. I am glad I went with MDF it makes it more shiny too.
      2. Door was also custom. Have some experience in family who make restaurant booth chairs with tufting style using the gun. So first we worked on a small piece of vinyl (leather look) wrap and made a sample using different type of buttons... When we got comfortable and were satisfied... we decided to do it on the whole door ... Im actually amazed how well it turned out!

    • @raguramamoorthy4971
      @raguramamoorthy4971 Год назад

      Thanks for the response with details Ali,
      For the ceiling fiber optics lights, I wanted to do it as you did. Since I was doing it for the first time and my theater room size is bigger 15W X 26L, so I did two round shape ceiling fiber optics lights. I will make a video and share it with you.

    Beautiful theater and very nicely done. One thing I noticed at the 11:35 mark is your AVR is in eco mode. It's typically recommended not to use that since it could be robbing you of power when the speakers demand it.

      @@raghibphotography It only affects the sound when driven hard and ECO then limits wattage to the speakers. However, if you run the speakers at volume levels of around 70% then ECO is just fine. ECO has another serious advantage in protecting your amp capacitors from overloading and reducing their efficiency. ECO Mode will protect your AVR in the long run. Your money your choice :)

    All that work. And you have...A TINY SCREEN! If I was putting that much effort in, that screen should be twice as big or more!!!!!! I have seen countless home cinema videos and they often go to these lengths, with incredible extras, posters, lighting, sound and then the whole point of the exercise, the screen is not much bigger than a TV!!! Its just mad.

      Punch in the numbers:
      19 length
      15 width
      8 height
      Pick this projector: Sony VPL 325ES
      If any professional video/audio advice people out there are going bigger, let me know. The projector dimensions of the room can not handle. It would be stupid to turn your head left and right throughout the movie. Yes, you can still go ahead and install bigger. I mean, i still can. But I will lose the picture quality. I went with the basics. To make the screen bigger, I have to change my projector and re adjust the speakers. This means I have to make more renovations as well. If I was to do it all over again, then yes. But this was my first built. I made some mistakes, yes. But it's still a 9/10

      I tried to do that already actually. I put them for the front channels when I had the x4700 denon but then I upgraded to the x6700 receiver and all the channels have great sound..no pre-Amplifier needed after that.. basically all height speakers are connected into one receiver as well as the other speakers. Unless I'm missing something else?

    • @dansiaopingpong4538

      If you're happy with that, OK. Adding power amps (or a single three-channel power amp for the front and center channels, which contain 90 percent of the useful music, voice, and overall audio information) will dramatically improve the sound of your system. Home theater receivers use the cheapest possible built-in power amp assemblies and minimally adequate power supplies for too many channels. You can make that tradeoff and let the receiver amplify the surround channels, which will also sound better.

    I don’t understand why you need an acoustically transparent screen if the frontal acoustics are not behind it! In my opinion, this is a mistake! The screen looks like a ratio of sides 16: 9 {1.78: 1}? Or maybe it would be better if 2.35: 1?

    • @raghibphotography
      @raghibphotography  Год назад +3

      Actually I was only putting the centre channel behind the screen and getting two towers to put on the side. I had already got the screen and later I realized that towers would be too low. I am actually upgrading my screen to a 135 or 150 with a 2:35:1 scope. So the front speakers will no longer be seen. This was the final look but I wanted to show what I have and maybe give everyone am idea when they are planning. But yes I could have gone with a normal screen too but wouldn't be able to have the centre channel behind the wall.

      This is math. Based on your main listening position, you’ll position your speakers a given distance apart to get a good sound stage. Beside that, the second piece is about the center channel height, which he explains.

I like the book shelf design because when my friends and family come over they see the speakers and the subwoofers and then they know what I got in there... Just a personal preference that is why I went with the bookshelf style. There was no other reason! Also, the way my back wall and surround walls were, I didn't want to cut holes. Once I cut the hole, then I have to paint, sand prime all over again. This way I can enjoy my theater for now and tweak some changes if I need to. When I upgrade my room in the future, I will get the in walls and I will know exactly where to cut the holes. It's a little redundant I know since I already have the cut out front and atmos channels... But see now I can't cover up those holes lol

    Good video, thanks. I was wondering if you lose any video quality having an acoustic transparent screen? If so, maybe the center channel could be split to 2 speakers? One above and one below the screen? Thanks

      Thank you! and Not at all. Before mounting the screen I put my ear right against the speaker and measured in decibels. After mounting it was exact same. Did not see any difference in sound at all. Don't split the center channels at all! I don't recommend that. I was worried about this too. That's why I left the Left and Right channels exposed. Now I know the acoustic transparent screens are fantastic. When I upgrade my Left and Right channels next year, I will hide them behind the screen and get a bigger screen too. But a bigger screen will come with changing the projector too. Its going to be a big expense so not doing it right away
