      Thank you for watching. If you haven’t seen already, we have several playlists on our RUclips page. It’s the ‘exploring the nugget’ that covers most of the instructional/ technical. These are easily identified by having a black background on the thumbnail. Hope you enjoy them- the recent technical ones are on water and electric. Please let us know if you would like us to cover anything. Thanks

    Hi, I´m so jealous about the second sliding door. We can´t buy this in Germany. Great video´s guys. We´ll get our Nugget hopefully in august. Stay safe all together

      Thanks so much for watching, the second sliding door has been great for us. It’s a shame it’s not an option in Europe at present. Maybe one day this will change🤞

    If you're only using the gas for the hob in a camper, I'd recommend using two 901s. They still last for ages, much lighter and smaller, plus you can fully exhaust them without the fear of running out. The 901s are a bit easier to use with lamps outside also. The deposit is swappable between all 90X cylinders so you can downside/upsize without any extra charge.
    For this very specific gas locker design probably not such a good idea on reflection.

    Make sure to put the lifting handle from the gas bottle in a safe place as you'll more than likely be charged extra when you return a cylinder without one.

    Hi firstly thank you for your video's we have picked up our nugget this week my question is where did you buy your gas bottle and what other gas cylinders fit

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 года назад +1

      Hi Timothy. Amazing that your Nugget has arrived- enjoy! We bought our gas from 3A’s leisure in Carmarthen although there are lots of other suppliers nationwide. There is a campingaz website with information for locations. As for other cylinders fitting, unfortunately we don’t have further information on this as this is the only size we’ve used. The manual lists this one. Maybe other people on here have further information on this to share?

    Another terrifically informative video and great info from the comments too. Please can you help us with the maximum size of pans you can use on the stove? Also could you please give us the measurements of the kitchen rack units at the back of the worktop? Diolch

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 года назад +2

      Diolch Cherry. Really appreciate the comments.
      I have just taken our house pans out and a 24cm frying pan next to a 21cm saucepan would be the max I would say. We use the GSI outdoors bugaboo camper- see episode 1 in the 'product focus' playlist on our page if not seen already if you want more info on this. In regard to the kitchen rack units at the back of the worktop- working from left to right from the hob to the sink there are 3 (the one right on the end by the window I haven't counted and small and unusual shape):
      length section 1: 17.5cm
      length section 2: 33cm
      length section 3: 33cm
      Depth : all are 10cm
      Height of back panel 12.5cm
      Height of front panel 5cm
      Hope this helps. Diolch

    Great video, thank you. We've had our Nugget since Nov 21 (2nd owners) and the gas bottle hasn't run out as yet. I assume the van has no mechanism to tell you the amount left in the bottle and you just have to wait until it simply runs out? Also, how do you go about getting it refilled or swapped out for a full bottle? Sadly, I'm a bit of a noob so will greatly appreciate your help 🙏

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  Год назад +1

      Hi there. Too be honest, we are still on our first bottle too! We cook a lot outside during the summer so don't always use the internal hob. I think you are right- no mechanism to tell you the amount left and just have to wait for it to run out. Our plan (when it does run out) is to visit a retailer that stocks this- try a local camping place/ online search- and ask what the plan is. Assume they either refill or replace the can for a full one. Hope this helps.

    Will the campingaz work in cold moths as its butane? If not are there small enough propane cylinders in uk?

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  Год назад

      Great question and one we probably can't answer 100% because we haven't done much cooking in the van over winter. Maybe some of the Nugget Facebook forums would be a good place to ask this.

    Hi - great videos, I’ve watched quite a few now! Hoping you can help on gas and a couple of other things. Prior to driving do you have to shut off the valve on the bottle (under the boards) or just the valve that you accessed through the cupboard? Is the hot water gas or diesel powered? Also the the roof - do you know if the roof canvas is watertight or weatherproof? One of my main concerns with a pop top roof! Cheers

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 года назад

      Thanks for the questions Neil. I will answer to the best of my knowledge but happy to be corrected if one of our subscribers knows more. Prior to driving you should shut off the valve on the gas bottle under the boards for safety. The hot water is powered by electricity. Please see our latest Vlog Exploring the Nugget Episode 9 for more detail on the water system. Let us know what you think. In regard to the pop up roof I am not sure the definition but we are considering it to be like a thick canvas tent. Companies do produce wraps that can be used to surround the pop up for more insulation and weather proofing. We will be looking into this at some point and will keep the channel updated.

    Hi a quick question, do you drive with the gas bottle turned on and the gas isolated by the cut off valve at the moment I close both but it is a pain when you need it on regards, Paul, I am enjoying your series

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 года назад +1

      Hi Paul thanks for watching and for your question. We also turn off the gas at the bottle and at the isolation valve when travelling. We feel this is the safest option and think it’s inline with the manual guidance. We now have a set order for unpacking and packing to avoid forgetting as agree it can be a pain to access if you have filled the space above before realising.

    How long does a 907 last?

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 года назад

      Sorry, not sure of this as only had the van a month and not been able to travel due to lockdown restrictions. I guess the length of use will also be determined but how often you use it to cook etc. Maybe one of our subscribers has more experience in this and would be able to comment further?

    • @theonlywoody2shoes
      @theonlywoody2shoes 3 года назад +2

      A 907 cylinder contains around 2.7Kg of gas. The small burner uses a little over 100g (0.1Kg) of gas per hour set to full, and the larger one around 150g/hr. Running just the small burner on full you should get 20+ hours of continuous use, the large burner around 15 hours, and both together just under 10 hours per cylinder. If you turn either burner down the gas will last longer. Remember that refills/exchanges are around £35-40 here in the U.K. Gaslow does a refillable bottle that fits, the R67 size. The parts are around £200 plus fitting, so maybe worthwhile if you use the hob a lot. If getting the Gaslow system fitted consider also fitting an external BBQ point on the outside of the van - this way you can use an external cooker in summer (gas BBQ, Cadac etc) with less heat and cooking smells inside the van and you don’t have to carry an extra cylinder to use outside.
