The USB sockets tied into the infotainment system are powered from the vehicle battery, not the leisure battery, so be careful not to drain the starter battery having the radio system on for too long. Those USB sockets also tend to only be 1 Amp at most, so do not charge phones and tablets as quickly as the other USB sockets powered by the leisure battery (2.1A), but they do have a great additional feature: you can plug in a memory stick with MP3 files on it, and you can select and play hours and hours of music this way - no CDs to scratch or lose around the van. You can even use the steering wheel controls to select and skip the tracks on the memory stick. I’ve got 20+ albums on a single 32GB USB stick. Great video as always 👍
Thanks Ian, great to have this additional information. Ps we will answer the bike rack query as soon as we can get out to measure it, likely this weekend 👍
Hi I think I saw you using a sun screen attachment to the van fixed awning which gave you extra shelter etc, are you able to let me know which product it is and where you got it from? Thanks for all your tips so far, very useful and helpful, we love our Nugget too. thanks Andrew
So, the 230v System only works when you are on shore power. What type and size is your leisure battery and with type I mean Lithium (LFP) or otherwise and how much capacity (Ah)? Are you thinking on adding solar to the system and possible an inverter in order to be able to use the 230v system also when you’re not on shore power? I love your videos and the details that you go into on the Ford Nugget. We’re currently looking to go a bit bigger from our current Micro camper and the Nugget is definitely a contender, also thanks to your brilliant channel.
Thanks again for watching. Sorry for the delay in replying. We cannot access the Leisure battery without removing the passenger seat but under the seat there are 2x 95Ah Maintenance free AGM (Absorbed Glass Matte) Batteries. This information is from the manual not from my inspection. I would definitely consider a solar panel with inverter at some stage. The Nugget is still currently in its warranty period and we are nervous of effecting this. as such any major additions will have to wait a little longer. Thanks again Nico for your kind words and support
@@SilverNuggetAdventure No worries. I just switched out our 100Ah AGM for a 100Ah LIthium battery. This will give us double the capacity due to an almost 100% usage of the capacity. My 180Wp solar panel provides most of the capacity for the battery, aided further by the DC/DC charging while driving. Shore power is rarely used anymore. Enjoy your travels. The fun thing about traveling in a campervan is that you can park it anywhere you want. Also, you constants find things that you want to change or need to replace. It is a continuous Work in Progress.
Hi I have a 2022 Nugget Plus - I recently purchased it (second hand) and only taken it on one occasion to learn how to use the pop up and all about habitation area equipment. Excellent exercise, learned a lot and very pleased with the van. However recently it had to go into a bodyshop for some very minor cosmetic body repairs (as agreed and paid for by previous owner) and after collecting I noticed that the (new type) control panel for the heater fridge water storage function was not working but middle symbol on the panel was flashing. I’ve referred to the manual with no joy. I normally put batteries on recharge every fortnight. Please do any Ford Nugget/Plus owners have any idea what the problem is. I have have plugged the van into the mains to recharge the leisure battery. Any guidance/feedback would be very much appreciated. Thank you
Had the same shape custom but just as a van I had the same experience with the USB ports in the cab, they are really meant for the apple CarPlay or android auto, as you showed it runs of the sync system, then the 12v you use for a set amount of time without sync on.

What a strange situation with the USB sockets, that would fool anyone.
