Excellent vlog, very comprehensive, never quite understand people shying away from using these or shuddering at emptying it. Used porta pottis since the 80’s and with 3 small children changed a fair few nappies of all descriptions! Good hygiene habits and there are no problems. Yes I like a built in toilet these days, slightly bigger tank, but still no news on when our Nugget Plus will arrive. Keep up the great work.

Never used a porta pottis. Is it easy to empty in a normal toilet rather than a dump station? Do you get splash back?!
Hi Mama Kim, yes its really easy to empty. Obviously you would need to empty according to the site guidance- usually there is a toilet waste dump station that must be used and we haven't had splashback doing this way. When we have used our home toilet to dump (eg after a day trip) then yes it has been just as easy with no splashback.

Hi. Most Toilet chemicals will lose their effectiveness after a few days- will depend on type- manufacturer details should tell you depending on brand. I would imagine with a toilet in use, you'd want to empty it as soon as you can. I'll be honest- we've gone away before now, used it a few times and forgotten to empty it straight away. Has not been an issue for us if left for a few days but will depend on factors above and what it's been used for I guess...number 1 vs. number 2 😊
Is it possible to give the dimensions of that cupboard in which you store the toilet?
Hi dimitri. The cupboard is a strange shape- its not a square inside so it would be quite awkward to give accurate dimensions. The toilet fits neatly in the direction we show in episode 3 of our 'exploring the nugget' playlist therefore those dimensions might give an idea. The dometic 976 is 333mmx387mmx387mm. We will soon be releasing a new vlog on some changes we've made to the van 6 months in- will be out in July and we'll show you what we put on the floor of the cupboard so again, this might help. The cupboard door space dimensions are approx 39x39cm.
