Great to get an honest review from your whole family 🙂 Looks like your new van will fix those few niggles. Wishing you all safe and fun travels in the new Nugget and a very Happy Christmas 🎄🎅🏻❤️
Thank you for reporting the 10 plus points of the Ford Nugget. Family I am very happy that soon they will have the one they wanted from the beginning. Congratulations on your decision. All the best❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a wonderful family in a wonderful car. But I wonder why Poppy has to sleep outside ;-) The longer nugget with the high roof could be even more perfect and there would still be room for a dog :)
The Ford Transit Custom is a fantastic van. I loved our campervan but we decided to sell it so we can buy a high top Peugeot Boxer. We only needed a two birth and wanted a separate toilet and shower. The conversion is underway and we should have our new van soon. I know the driving experience will not compare with our Ford Transit Custom because I also have an automatic Seat Leon Sport and it’s spec doesn’t come near to the Ford Transit! I hope your new van is living up to your expectations. Merry Christmas to you all. Thanks as always for a great video.
Hi Sylvia, not much comes close to the Ford Transit Custom, you’re quite right. And, it out-does certain cars with the spec and drive. I bet you can’t wait to get your new camper though, sounds just what you want…a separate shower and toilet is appealing, I must say. There are always compromises though, which ever way we all choose. All the best for season, and thanks for the great comments, J and family.
Looks good and you must be super excited about getting the next one which will hopefully be even better for you. Merry Christmas and hope 2022 is going to be really good year for you
We are super excited! And, I think you’re right, the Plus should be even better for us. Thanks for your Christmas wishes, same to you and yours, happy Christmas from J and family 👍🏻🥳
It certainly is a beautiful van and did wonder at one point if you would still go ahead with upgrading to the Nugget Plus, as it seemed to work so well for you all. But do look forward to seeing your new van and the family adventures you have in it. Happy Christmas and wishing you all a Nuggeting New Year 😊x
Hi Teresa! Many thanks for your message. We thought about sticking with the Nugget pop top but decided to trust our orginal decision. We cannot wait for the arrival and we cannot wait to begin the new adventures! Merry Christmas to you too, and have a fabulous New Year!!!! X
HI CCFamily, Is superperfection a word? Cos that’s what I think the Nugget Plus high top wil be, can’t wait to see it. Orange, Blue, Grey, white or black, what is it going to be, hmm my guess is metallic blue. It’s great to see the whole family loving campervanning, how nice. Here’s to a great 2022 of travels in the new one.
We’ll go with “superperfection”…😂. And we hope you’re right Russell, ‘cos we have stuck with the plan and are hoping we’ve done the right thing whilst we await the arrival of our long awaited Nugget Plus 🥳😎. As regards the colour, you must have inside information?! 😆. Thanks for watching and commenting and we cannot wait for our 2022 travels 😎👍🏻
Really interesting to see this, thank you. Super video as always. At first I thought the layout seemed a waste of space (we have a Cali, for comparison… very much influenced by yourselves 😊) as it’s less flexible but actually seeing that it can function as lounge and kitchen together makes a lot of sense, especially with little children you don’t want under your feet when cooking. I’m wondering then does the rear kitchen come at a cost of storage? How do you find the storage compared to the Cali (especially as you’ve not got the roof box on this). Thanks again for sharing your experience. We really love your videos! So happy to see the Nugget is working well for you 😊
Thanks for watching and the questions Laura. We loved our Cali, and it still is a clever vehicle. One our issues was that you have to unload the boot space to sleep downstairs. When I first saw the Nugget, I thought it would be a pain without having a boot as such. However, what we have discovered during our adventures is that taking less is ‘more’. If you have a roof box you fill it! (Although it made it more possible when Poppy was a baby due to all the baby extras!). So, with the Nugget pop top, we took less and packed the cupboards - no bags floating around. This worked well generally, but we do need a bit more storage especially for colder/wet weather, hence one reason for the high top with more cupboards. The idea now is that all 5 of us can travel with everything in its place, without having to clamber over ‘stuff’ or move anything come bedtime. The rear kitchen is amazing and works so well for a family, mainly as its a good size and can always be fully accessed. Lets see how we get on!
Love from India, I see younger one has become grown up now...last time I saw her she was in pram.. Rest both have also...God bless all of u Love watching u people camping in new nugget, what happened to California VW? Love from India!!
Thanks from Italy to India! Yes, Poppy is growing up fast 😱…we sold the VW to try something new! Many thanks for watching and commenting, it is nice to hear from a long time subscriber ☺️👍🏻
Apparently, Poppy was trying to ‘prank’ our subscribers….😂…she’s only just turned 4! She was very persistent as I edited out half of her lovely ramblings ☺️
We could park our Cali Beach next to it? I prefer the Beach for simple resale value. You can always sell a Beach as a 7 seater family/business minibus so a wider market than just campers. I took out a row of seats for the UK made Nano kitchen unit, plus a Portavogie. A camper, a minibus a cargo van depending upon the need a the time.
Hello! There could be a direct comparison in the pipeline, but we are waiting for the delivery of our friend new Ocean T6.1. We also intend to put our ‘old’ Nugget against the new when it arrives. Thanks for comment, Jordan. (P.s. I am heavily biased towards the Nugget these days, for many of the reasons we bought it).
Thank you so much for all your videos. I really love the Nugget and your lovely family. I'm thinking first hiring 1 for a couple of weeks in order to check it out first before eventually buying one. Question: do you need to remove your sheets, duvet, pillows from the bed upstairs every time you put the roof down or can you leave it there while you drive with the roof down? In the case you need to remove it before you put the roof down, where do you store all your bed stuff? Thanks
Hi Eric, thank you for your lovely comments, very kind. Glad you enjoy our videos. Yes, the upstairs bed needs to be clear of all bedding apart from the bed sheet/mattress cover. It was the same with our VW California too. The pop tops are very sensitive to anything being up there. In the Nugget, you pull all the bedding down and place it underneath the sink area. This is a usefully big storage space once when the downstairs bed is packed away (i.e. in its normal position as a bench seat). We could fit all the bedding for 5 of us in there providing we didn’t use 5 big pillows. If you are in Europe, you might find the high top version more convenient as the bedding can stay up top. Hope that helps, and have fun if you hire one!
@@CaliCamperFamily thank you so much for your quick answer, this is really helpful. Yesterday we went to Roadsurfer here in Barcelona to check out both the Nugget and the California. We prefer the Nugget and have booked one for a 10 days trip in September to drive to south Spain. We're so excited, can't wait for it. Hope to see more of your lovely videos. Kind regards.
Hello! Yes, the seats swivel as Ford have installed a drop position handbrake, hence it is never in the upright position. Good question, forgot to mention than…make it point number 11!
With over 50 nights and 8800km travelled, we tell you about the 10 things we love about our Ford Nugget! Please like and subscibe for more…and drop us a comment as we like to hear what people think about the Nugget!
Hello Guys. Is the Nugget better then California?I just need to know your opinion because I have Cali T5 after facelift but we think to buy Nugget due to better layout. For example if children sleep down we can cook at the same time what is not possible in Cali. What about the interior quality? thanks. Dusan. Slovakia
For us as a family, the layout is much more practical and useable than the California. There ate some big advantages with the Nugget, but namely rhe one you mention. The kitchen is always available and you can move about inside the van, back to front without stelping outside. It is more spacious and the 5 seats make it perfect for families. Hope that helps, good luck J.
Yes, it works! This was one of our concerns as most cars cannot usually do 3 baby seats in row, and even then, not easily. I have seat belt extensions whoch make it even easier. We regularly use two boosters and a baby seat in a row…👍🏻
Great to get an honest review from your whole family 🙂 Looks like your new van will fix those few niggles. Wishing you all safe and fun travels in the new Nugget and a very Happy Christmas 🎄🎅🏻❤️
We think its the fairest way to include us all in a review…even Poppy at only 4 has her opinions 😳😂…Merry Christmas and happy travels to you both!🎄

Well done guys and happy Christmas to ye all. Best of luck with your new Nugget. 😊🎄

Hi there. Enjoyed your holiday video at the Italian campsite. Could you please post the details....
Its a place called Camping Riveria, Cannobio on the shores of Lake Maggiore…beautiful campsite 😎👍🏻

What about fuel fully loaded?
Didn’t notice any real difference either loaded or empty. Achieving 9 litres per 100km. 31 mpg. On longer journeys, maybe 20% better again.
What's the chances of 3 kiddos seats across the back? And rear facing?
Yes, it works! This was one of our concerns as most cars cannot usually do 3 baby seats in row, and even then, not easily. I have seat belt extensions whoch make it even easier. We regularly use two boosters and a baby seat in a row…👍🏻
@@CaliCamperFamily oo fab thanks! Any bottom tethers available for those nice extended rear facing seats?
I tnink you can buy them that clip/slide into the loading rails on the floor. 👌🏻
