My last two previous uploads are proof I know how to color balance, and those two brands go deep in their shade ranges. I will definitely try shade 6 Mali so we can see what it is all about. 😘😘

Being lazy and don't wanna go back, but I just watched Nyma's video on this foundation. The shade she used matched her chest which is something she doesn't mind so she made it work. Her video was sponsored by nars so she didn't "complain" too much about the shade range.
After you held up your phone, it's a no for me. We shouldn't have to make things "work". And it was very Ashanti of them to send you those shades. Not sure how it works but they (brands) could at the least ask you guys what to send if they're not going to do the homework to know what your shade/range/undertone is. Or even just to save product. Maybe they'll expand the shade range🤷🏿♀️
I mean, I want to Dee the shade 6 I doubt it is deeper than the first bra shade I tried. And honestly those concealers would probably look ashy on dark skin compared to other skin tones.

It looks like such a nice foundation, shame they didnt send you the correct shades. The PR people should realise by now that most deep skined youtube make up gurus use brighter lights to help the viewers see the makeup technique/process being used. Or at least they could have taken 5 minutes to see the previous nars review you did or the foundation reviews you did just to check the shade used and make a reasonable comparison. Its quite sad the Nars PR team couldn't be bothered to do that.

Imagine how much more excited you would've been to have it in your shade match and with that finish! Ugh the disrespect these makeup companies have is irritating

I went to sephora .and the lady almost chopped my hands off for about to touch the foundation.. Nars need to add more shades in between.. i was able to test the darkest shades..but its too cool or too deep with red tones.. Thank you I appreciate your efforts.. ❤

I haven't tried any NARS products, but this new foundation (based on the swatches) looks promising. It doesn't look to watery, and appears to have decent coverage. I hope they'll send you the right shades. Continually blessings upon you and your family 💜☦🕊💖🥰💗🌟

I just got mine today from Sephora. Deep 5 is a dead on match for me. Love how it looks. Nyma just did a review using Deep 6. Hoping that works for you.

I just bought this. Its the best foundation ever. Very skin like, very natural...doesnt look like foundation at all...just smooth and clear. Worth every penny!

I have the NARS Soft Matte sitting on my vanity, and I’m scared to try it because the color might be off. I went into Sephora and they are allowing you to swatch foundation on your own face, after they place the foundation shades you’re trying on a glass pane now, so that’s good. But the lighting in Sephora is jacked up, and don’t understand the method behind their lighting! Anyway, I’m excited to see your review. The Soft Matte concealer has very good reviews on Sephora’s app, so if I like the foundation as much as I think I will, I may get the concealer too.

Kate Adjei it’s really not and see people saying “there is nothing wrong with matching to your Chest” and “use contour to darken it”. How? If I need to darken it then I might as well use contour and concealer. How do people not get it’s not workable.

I thought the shade you used looked really good but i understand the frustration of them not sending you the correct shade range. I personally don’t have a match in the foundation at all. Nor do I have a match in any other of the Nars foundations.

OHEMAA no they didn’t I don’t get their under tones and I’m new to Nars so I didn’t already have a previous shade to start with I’m going to try one more and then I’m over it
Yea Rite yessss no swatches so have buy several shades and it’s just a waste of the bottles which is going to cost them more money then they will raise the prices lol
The folks at my Sephora allowed swatches on a clear palette and then they used a dispensible q-tip like thing that you could swatch on yourself and throw it out.
The shade looked good. It was the concealers that seem to be off-they were pulling grey and red!
Whewwwwww chileeeeeeeee the color choices are giving me very much morphe original foundation roll out. I can’t believe they sent you those i mean come on morphe even with the light you can OBVIOUSLY tell that those aren’t your shade.

Girl, we are similar shade. I love the concealer (Dark 3) for my eyebrows only. I tried Deep 6 which works-ish but the undertone is almost too neutral idk, I'll keep trying and see but IDK why things go left when these brands make matte foundations

One this I will say about being a black woman, that our complexion is very complex and sometimes we have different tones, undertones & varieties of colors on our body. I’m not defining mars but it seems like the foundation matches your body but you usually like to match your foundation shade to your neck & your concealer shade to your chest. I agree they should have done more research into what shades would Match you but I think they have made the mistake of looking at pictures of you and assuming you were that shade.
That's a shame cuz I thought nars was better with the colour range. I hope they either send you the right shade or add more. For certain gradients, it's not a big deal to go up or down one, but clearly, they dont have the same type of graduation in the deepest shades 😕

Bryant it would have made sense if that was the darkest shade Nars had. However they have a better shade for Ohemaa and viewers would prefer to see how the correct shade looks like to shade match to themselves or to a client if they are make up artists doing make up on customers with Ohemaa's skin tone and are considering whether or not to buy the foundation.
No but i do think it was a great shade to match yo your chest ima makeup artist & i usually match my clients to there chest & contour the shade of their necks if it’s darker the everything else just my opinion.
It would’ve looked more cohesive in my opinion then just a dark face & neck but light chest .
@@bryantwest986 I understand your viewpoint but that makes sense if the client has an open top actually showing the chest, if they have a closed top and the chest or the neck is not visible it makes more sense to match to the face. On a personal level I have found that with foundations that are not my face shade (but a shade I can get away with i.e. its darker or lighter than my face ) i can wear them but i dont feel comfortable in them. I dont feel like myself even if the foundation looks pretty on me and i feel awkward about my actual face shade afterwards, I can't relate to my face after taking the make up off. Having the correct shade match to my face of foundation makes me feel comfortable in my skin both when I wear the make up and also when I'm not wearing the make up. There are lots of people that feel that way ergo the preference to see more foundation reviews matching the face to see if we will buy the foundation or not.
That shade looked fine to me but I understand about ur neck being darker than ur chest so u have to balance. I have the same issue and I know the struggle mama #tfs 😃

Perhaps if you had a darker concealer shade, deep 5 would have worked for you. I hope NARS is able to get the right shades in to you very soon. I feel like the video is a cliff hanger lol.
Since highlight zones are supposed to be brightening using a darker shade will defeat the purpose.
A darker shade than the ones they provided you....you said the foundation was a good match for your chest, to me it wasn’t that terrible. If you had a better concealer option deep 5 probably would not have come off bad on camera. Just my two cents but I get it.

I honestly think you wear your foundation too dark. It doesn’t have to match you chest but it’s should be in between your chest and face shade. The one you tried was okay but too cool. You have like a yellow undertone on your chest. I don’t think the last shade will work for you it’s too dark.

This was disappointing! I was hoping that you would have a good experience shade it seemed to be well received in the beauty community. I am a huge fan of NARS, and own several bottle of foundations from them, but this was sad to watch. Do you think they made a mistake in PR?
Makeup brands have just started to give people a good variety of "pale" shades, so it really boggles my mind why they don't make a bunch of super deep shades as well. Also, you are just stunning
