Beautiful foundation, Nyma, and you are right: this base gets better with time.
However...
I feel like you deserve to have a foundation that matches your face, too. There is no reason that a company as iconic as NARS can’t come through with a foundation that matches your face and you should not have to settle for anything less. NARS needs to get it together and give us with deeper complexions another option besides matching to lighter parts of our bodies.

If you have a foundation formula you really like but it isn't dark enough try the darkening drops from ELF. Im around an NC44 and I used it to darken my winter shade and HOLY SHIT that stuff is DARK. Made me look like I was wearing blackface lmao Def worth a try if you think your foundations aren't dark enough.
Legacy brands have a rep when it comes to darker skintoned foundations. It tends to be red most of the time *cough MAC cough*

Yeah I felt like this was disingenuous to make a brand sponsor happy. Why do they get a pass because Nyma can “finesse” it if not everyone can wear?
Transfer resistant means it doesn't transfer much, but will still transfer some. Transfer proof means is will not transfer. Think waterproof vs. water resistant. You said it backwards - it's transfer resistant, NOT transfer proof.
Also, you're gorgeous and I need to try this foundation. :)

And in cosmetics it tends to be more of a time thing, like water resistant is 30 minutes underwater or whatever
So what she said is "right", it's not realistic for makeup to be transfer proof, but they can do some nice resistant ones

no such thing as water proof. that’s like saying the titanic was unsinkable. 🤷🏽♂️

I was thinking the same thing! Matte foundations always make me look cakey and textured but she used powder on top and STILL looked great!

I'm making a list of things I'm really interested in and if I still want it after the hype and after all this passes and things get better THEN I'll splurge!

The foundation may be boom but that Airbrush Flawless setting spray is what keeps the foundation lasting all day in my opinion. I’ve tried it with some of my non matte foundations and it makes them last hours longer without touch ups. It also adds a natural glow. Charlotte did that one 🖤
Nyma I am truly saddened that most foundations don’t match your skin tone. I understand that your chest is lighter. (My chest is lighter, while my neck is the darkest, and my face is somewhere in between or sometimes it could be pale) I know the struggle of having different shades on my face neck and chest.. but recently I’m just underwhelmed by the shade range of certain brands. They know your shade and still don’t make foundations dark enough. I am truly disappointed. We are in 2020. I expect more from brands.
They don't make a lot of shades I'm in between a Mac nc45 and the nc47 even when I mixed the shade is still kind of off I'm not light-skin but I'm not brown skin either nobody has a shade that matches me I've tried everybody from Nars, Estee Lauder, Black Radiance, black opal, Becca, Mac, Too Faced, Covergirl Revlon you name it

I'm confused; what shade was she using because according to the link she sent in the description box there's like 2 shades that can match her face (D5 and D6).

Totally agree - why are there SO MANY shades for caucasian skin to choose from but not so for brown & black skin? There are SO MANY caucasian shades that look almost the same, just slight variations - it caters for every possible shade for them. Whilst we have to mix two or three shades even and experiment to get a match.

Honestly, forgetting the fact that she's a great POC influencer who helps dark POCs find their shade, she is a GREAT influencer. Like, just view her as a normal influencer & she does a much better job than most of them. Unbiased, never shits on any product, no extra drama, no clickbaity thumbnails, just real & gives her honest opinion.

I think your final look is absolutely flawless! I wasn't sure if my shade was Marquises or New Caldonia, so I got them both. Blending them together has given me the best match yet! I had never bought NARS before, but now I am impressed. Thanks for you sharing.

The setting spray is definitely responsible for the glow. It didn’t look matte after that. It looks like a good foundation!

Nyayiel Lok it’s a method where you use a lighter foundation as a concealer instead of an actual concealer. Megan Thee Stallion did It In her makeup tutorial and it looked flawless ✨

Ooxb Joo I have their Natural Radiant Longwear foundation and I swear by it, I'm the shade New Caledonia every season but summer, Iguacu is my summer shade, they are both my perfect match. I'm not as dark as Nyma but I definitely think they need to extend both lines of foundations at least 3 shades more.
Dramatic Sighs if you're talking about this foundation specifically, I'm sorry about that experience. I haven't tried it and don't really plan to, but it might also be how you set it and the fact that it's soft matte, if it was like the Estee Lauder foundation that's a different story because that is a true matte foundation

I love having dewy foundation most of the time because I love the glow, but sometimes it gets a little too shiny for my taste when I go out at night and go dancing and to bars (lol that’s not happening for a while though), so I’m glad to see a matte foundation that gives you a glow. Plus I’m almost exclusive to Nars when it comes to foundation/concealer. 😍✨🖤

I have my New NARS Soft Matte foundation sitting on my vanity and have not applied it yet. At Sephora, they’re still putting swatches of foundation on glass pane, but now they’re allowing the customer to take the foundation off of the glass and swatch on their own face, without removing your mask. So it’s still a struggle, but I will take what I can get! I purchased Too Faced BTW Matte, and it’s Matte Matte! I go a little more matte in the Fall/Winter, but not that matte, so I’m very hyped about the NARS.
