  • An early morning stroll around the picture postcard harbour village of Charlestown near St Austell in Cornwall. This was filmed at around 7am on one of the loveliest days of the Summer.
Many of you will be familiar with this Georgian port, whether you know it or not. Over the years it has been used as a filming location for countless films and dramas both on the big little screen. The most recent, and possibly best known of these is Poldark - although it was also featured in the original 1970s Poldark too.
Along with the well-preserved backdrop of granite quays and Georgian cottages, Charlestown is also home to a fleet of sailing ships. Not only do these add to the period feel of the village, they too have featured in numerous films and TV programs.
A stone's throw from the less appealing town of Saint Austell, Charlestown is also home to a fairly pleasant beach. In fact the beach is divided into two by the harbour. To the east is a good stretch of shingly sand backed by high cliffs whilst to the other side of the harbour is a patch of beach leading to some great rock pools and Polmear Island.
