I like how you took all the parts out & cleaned it up really nice. I do the same thing in my local area & re-sell the PC for just a few extra bucks after I make sure it's all working correctly. I became disabled due to a work accident 2 years ago & can't work a 'regular' job any more... That's a *_VERY_* nice PC for only $200.00, and I love the case (chassis)! My older PC (I built a newer one recently) has an OC'ed i5-4690K & a Gigabyte GTX 970 (4 GB) G1 Windforce GPU. It *_still_* plays most AAA games well as long as you tweak the settings a bit, as you mentioned in your video. Honestly the 4GB Vram on the GPU REALLY helps a lot. A used GTX 970 would work great in this PC & you could still sell the GTX 770 for a few bucks to recoup some $$$. You got a super deal; thank you for sharing your experiences. Subscribed.

Using it for 5+ years already, and still waiting for something decent to jump on, as this i5 w/o OC (need to change cooler as my Contac 29 fins got a bit bent, and the cooler seems to not have the same performance as some years ago) handles my GTX 1080 without having bigger problems. You might want to get rid of that stock heatsink, and delid that thing, and you can really push it (assuming the motherboard has decent VRMs)! 4.4-4.6 GHz should be doable on it. I'm still running the 4790K as my primary system, even though I built an 8086K system as a portable in a Corsair 380T case last year (the cost to relicense software would be too much to make the 8086K the primary at this time, but it does get a lot of use as well). Definitely delid that and get some Conductonaut on that die and put a real heatsink on it. The Prodigy should also support a 240mm AIO without any problems.

Put a SDD and another 8gb in it, and running it as a TV console emulator. Well happy with the performance. Intel 4600 integrated graphics are fine for retro stuff - even PS2.
BTW - needed some money, and just put my 5700 XT on eBay, and it’s gone mental. I’m going retro this year.

I got a pretty good deal on US eBay and I saw another selling selling the same rig for the same price recently, it's not always available though. It's a Dell 7010 Mini Tower with an i7 3770, 16GB DDR3 1600 RAM and a 1TB HDD (my seller listed 500GB but they had a lot of systems so I just got lucky) for $180. I added a 240GB SSD for 30, a used GTX 1060 6GB for 155, and a 600W EVGA PSU for $40. My friend gave me the PSU from his old rig so it wasn't included in my budget so I upped the GPU from a 1050ti to 1060 since I could. If you just want to use the base system you don't need an SSD, I was surprised how quick Windows 7 worked since it was already installed on the hard drive before I clean installed W10 on the SSD. You can also use a 1050ti on basically any system, this one had a stock 275W PSU which was enough for it but not any card with a dedicated power pin(s). Overall I only spent $370 on my gaming rig and I'm very happy with it.

Though selling the 770 for ~50$ and getting a used 170-200$ card (GTX 980/1060 6GB AMD R9 Nano/Fury/480/580) might be a good choice.

6:35 - Nailed it. Happens with each generation, we'll see the same thing over time with Pascal & Maxwell, the push ffor Turing will shove them out of the way.

I've found sellers on FaceBook Marketplace to be way less specific when listing spec's sometimes. I find the intel sticker (if there is one) is a good way to roughly determine what generation the CPU and RAM type is, without actually knowing any of the spec's.

Knowing this is an old video, can confirm haswell still runs well. I have a 4690K overclocked to 4.6ghz from 2014 that was paired with an 970 and was amazing till early last year aka Metro Exodus. Since then, I have upgraded to a 1070 and the cpu still doesnt really bottleneck the card as it's at 100% all the time and max settings at 1080p and 1440p as well! So for now, safe to say haswell still has its game together :)

I had the 4570 non k in 2020, paired with a 980 Ti and i had no performance issues on any games UNTIL Cyberpunk 2077 came out. I bought an upgrade kit in my country (south africa) which was decent in terms of the motherboard and ram (350 pounds), but the processor was a bit strange (I have never heard of this thing before) the 3500x. Please MY GUY do a review on this chip as its cheap, easy to come by in bundles and works a treat. Had it not be for Cyberpunk, i would of held on to my 4570 processor.... the board in question is a b550 plus asus tuf (around 196 pounds in my currency) RAM is Klevv 3200 mhz 16GB 8GBx2 (88 pounds) and then the processor was the latter (66 pounds, for a 6 core, 6 thread processor). It was so cheap and such a performance boost that i could not say no. Hope this helps inspire a video going forward. Love the channel and keep it up

It's interesting watching this video 3 years later. At the time, it was a great value with a bit dated GPU. Today it is still a pretty good value with an even more dated GPU. 6 - 18 months ago, many folks paid more than your price for just a 770. I sold two 770s for over $100 each during those times. It's been a wild ride.
