I'm a housecleaner. This is not really necessary unless you never clean your toilet.
I just cleaned a rental unit that was unoccupied for 3 months and the toilet was disgusting. I just used The Works toilet bowl cleaner from dollar tree
Bleach then alcohol.. looks great after
Also spray the bristles with Lysol then let it dry!! ❤

You can also turn off the water valve in the back of toilet then flush and get the same results 😊

Yea you could bend over turn the water off then bend over and turn it back on afterwards. Or, you could just fill a bucket with water dump it in and proceed to clean your toilet.
Broke the cheap, plastic handle off yesterday doing that. Metal replacement. Much better.

There was no difference between the before and after in your toilet. You just wasted a bucket of water. Toilets are made to keep the same level of water in them at all times.

Why not just turn the water off and then flush the toilet twice to completely empty it? Not wasting nearly as much water as this and it takes less time.

Because you want it to be dry before you store it in the holder. Bacteria grows In dark, wet or damp places. It also helps prevent odor.
