Excellent. Thanks for this. I 'found' a copy of Street of Rage 4 and it works through batocera however I couldn't get the auto config file to load it up because the execution file wasn't in the root drive. I was going to ask you how to fix this issue however you explained it well. I also didn't know u could change the graphics & emulator settings so that's really good. I will try the games that didn't work again. Also can't wait for ur next scape video. Its been time consuming doing it manually. Thanks
Thanks, worked fine for my DOS and Windows games. But i am currently having trouble with Linux versions of my gog games. It is a bit funny, that windows games are easier to install on batocera linux than actual linux games.
Batocera apparently supports DirectX and Visual C Redist now, but it looks a bit fidgetty in how it works to 'install' them for various games. Individually? Maybe? Anyways, could be useful to provide an updated tutorial on Wine specific (portable) installations that make use of these dependencies. If it's not already up and I missed it. I'm about to trial and error with it again to see what games I can get working. :P
I know this threat is old but still so relevant. I followed your excellent instructions to the letter however I ran into a problem. I moved Prince of Persia 2 thrones over to Batocera but I get the ubisoft application test that says "This application helps you verify that your system is compatible with Prince of Persia" It has a grayed out "Launch Game!" button and a "Quit" button. I can only quit. The game runs great on the same machine when using Windows but can't get past this. There is a green checkbox for all minimum specifications. I tried deleting the dll for the application checker but it won't even start. Any idea what to do if you've come across this? Thanks for your help.

Question please: I installed batocera on an on-key disk but with very few gigabytes. Now I want to move everything to a large (external) hard disk, is there a way to export or copy everything to the new disk?
Is there any inbuilt controller to keyboard/mouse mapping in batocera? Something similar to steam 's? Or do we have to add non steam games (such as gog games) to steam? Not sure if that can work in batocera.
when start the game, it will start a virtual windows machine, but not the game, i can have there the partition like C but no game to run the exe, how to start the game?
My question disappeared due to wording I guess, so I'll try again. Is there a way to run cheats on these games? I enjoy playing Castle of Illusion Remastered and my son uses a "trainer" app that gives us unlimited energy and items. On PC we switch back and forth between windows to turn it on. Would two windows at once work on Batocera , or is there another way to get cheats on modern games?
Thank you, just came across this video. I've tried this method and found the games run faster than using .Wine. Is there away of importing the reg files using this method?

Not for me, but nice 😁👍 As for scraping app, you mean phone app? Cant be, or are you referring to PC? PC programs are still called programs right? Since when do we call PC programs apps? 😁 Anyway, I always use the scraper PC version rather than through Batocera. You have more options and settings available to you that way. Lol! Yeah, I still call them programs, but the younger generation always give me strange looks when I do. So I've learned to call them apps, so that all know what I'm talking about.
Just to be clear, does Windows compatibility play a key factor when importing GOG games, or can I import games that are made to work on Linux? The main difference is that the Windows compatibility list is limited compared to games that can simply run on Linux, especially for GOG.
GOG games that are made to work in Linux will be the most compatible for Batocera and should work without any trouble. Some GOG games that are not Linux compatible may still work in Batocera.
@@BatoceraNation I will probably check out the forums, given how limited the archived compatibility list is. Even though Stardew Valley was not mentioned on that list, I set it up anyway since it was one of the games you've set up in the video. I am however having technical issues with running these games, and that might be because I forgot I needed to set up wine first. I'll have to look into that.
Actually, I think I realized what the issue is. This method does not import the Linux versions of these games, but rather the Windows versions running in Wine. This explains why games like Retro City Rampage and Shovel Knight don't work through importing, because while they are compatible with Linux, they are really just the Windows versions that aren't quite fully compatible with Wine at this moment. I don't suppose it's possible to import Linux versions through a Linux rom folder or something in a future update?
When I try to do this for Mortal Kombat 4, it just goes to the Batocera File Manager.... Is this game not supported or is there some settings I need to change?
Most likely it is not supported. I don't see a Linux version of the game in GOG. I only see a Windows version. Not even Steam has a Linux version of the game.
This would be same question as above top 10 Batocera hacks :). There is no native wat to do this. There is a Guy/Girl named modhack tv (RUclips) that has IT working.
@@Herotruth maby the wrong words haha, ofc the Linux (arch) system supports Linux games (running of sh script etc) but In Batocera there is no folder to drop in the game files for Linux. Indeed its ironic that there is a Windows folder😂.
