Finally someone has tested a G35 on a Barra. I’d also be interested in G35-900 vs GTX3582 Gen II. Particularly around response as we know both will make good power.
I have a g35-1050 on my barra and its a good thing. 1.21 rear makes it a little lazy on the street, but all in all its real good. Making 600kw on 28psi
@@jonwilliam1441 ive just started planning my build mate, im really keen on the g35-900, can you give me any advice? Should i just go for the bigger g35-1050, keep it on low boost till i get used to it, then run it boost by gear?
@@8stringer528 yeah I'd go g35-1050 from the start, that way the room for more is there and depending on rear they'll be fine. If manual boost by gear is the go id say in first and 2nd atleast.
@@jonwilliam1441 cheers for that Jon! Il call my tuner during the week and order the 1050, i cant believe these turbos arent being used more? With a good tune, and a safe boost by gear tune, it ticks all the boxs! Thanks for your help mate! Dave
I have twin (symmetrical) GTX Gen II 3582r turbos on my 997 turbo. Little bit on the laggy side, but super efficient up top. Smooth power delivery At 30 PSI I’m making 1210WHP and 973WTQ on E85 🌽 ⛽️
Yes we would have too, we were told that where they were ramped on the pulls between the two set-ups wouldn't have given us accurate information though unfortunately. We will try and compare driving logs to update.
That’s a decent size difference in turbo’s. I’m amazed how well the G35-1050 did. I’m leaning towards that option since the 7675 is a tighter fit for me.
@@luvhcchris I ended up getting a custom turbo made from Boostlab & my buddy did too but from CompTurbo cause we’re mid mount turbo 350z’s. @@louiienation8497 ah okay cool! BL makes awesome turbos. I ran their baby 54x for a bit on my previous Subaru and it was fantastic. Went to a g30-770 and so far I love the g series. You cant really tell the comparison. So less boost on garrett made less power but you did not show the dyno clearly to see whats happening to compare them.
Correct, we were more so keen to push it to where we didn't think it would end up out the exhaust (as we don't have a speed sensor connected). Although it ran a couple of PSI less, we were actually really surprised it kept making power to where it did.
I believe that comparing the 6870 with the GT35-1050 would be more valid. I mean I'm currently using a g35-150 on my project and I'm not impressed so far.
@@nrp_94 from what it has shown on the same engine build the 6870 can come over 4.0bars of boost runing over 950whp with race gas. The G35-1050 though wont exceed 860-880whp on max boost that should be around 3.2-3.4 bars MAX considering its a Garrett turbo. So basically yes the 6870 will definitely outpower the G35-1050 which is more similar to the GT3584RS juuuust a bit larger.
