This is my dream life as well. As a girl I was having problems in schools and dropped out when I was 14. Luckily my parents asked me to stay in a temple for three months (but not training for Kungfu), it opened my eyes for so many things and I felt unprecedented peaceful in my mind. I went back to school sense then. Now I'm 20 and trapped in daily trifles just like everyone does, but I cannot forget that sense of peaceful and wish to go back there again.

Beautiful. I've spent about 5 years periodically doing training under the guidance of Shi Yan Fan, who happens to be one of the incredibly rare westerners who complete the entire process and become ordained shaolin warrior monks (he also was one of the first in a LONG time to receive the Jieba, which is also impressive), and the experience I've had is NOTHING compared to what you have gone through. I feel that one of these days I will go to the temple and train there eventually, but until then, I will just have to keep working hard to reach that point. Huge props to you for going through with it.

You’re a beautiful person, you’ve helped me through so much and have inspired me to do things I never thought I’d do or think I could do. Buddhism makes me feel very unique to myself and connected with something divine making sure that no matter what I choose, it’ll be the right choice
I saw why you left before I watched this. I can see the pain on your face bro. To climb that mountain that last time, with the emotion and physical pain you were feeling, is truly inspiring.
Monks usually wear a grey-ish robes. Masters tend to wear brown occasionally. But its become very loosey-goosey. For some special ceremonies and kung fu performances the color/outfit is changed.
You can most likely practise kung fu + shaolin in your city, too, if it's a bigger city. You don't have got the temple and the mentality there, though, ofc.
Xie Xie for sharing🙏🏼 I have walked the same paths and feel such a connection at Shaolin❤️ very heartfelt video for me and hope to return in the near future!
Throughout my school life I was bullied. They mocked me because of my dark skin. And they use to beat me up. No one helped me. I made friends with some of my classmates thinking that they will help me. But when the bullies came they left me and joined the bullies to beat me up with them. Then I started learning kudo and karate. And I worked day and night to train myself. And then all my bullies avoided any conflict with me. Now I'm a black belt in karate and I know how it feels to be weak. But the truth is we are not weak its just a state to mind. So I thought of teaching everyone martial arts and rise above bullies. And started a RUclips channel. Always remember YOU ARE NOT WEAK. YOU ARE MORE THAN WHAT YOU THINK YOURSELF TO BE. NEVER EVER GIVE UP.
your videos are so great.finally we get a sneak peak into the life of the temple and your knowledge about it because you trained 3 years there.thank you again.
Most dreams I’ve had was of me at the Shaolin Temple. Like I’ve been there before. They always seem so real. And, every time I see videos or pictures of the Temple, I feel like I’m drawn to it so intensely. I can smell the place. Hear the sounds. My soul is drawn to it. My whole life. I’ve seen me praying there, and haven’t been. I’ve felt me train and learn. Not just the martial art aspect of it, but the teachings, the beliefs of the Temple. I even remember from my dreams my master Tzu. If that is the best way to pronounce the name. Tzu seemed not old in look, but in soul. I never saw me in the dreams. And yes, I’m American. But, before I even heard of the Shaolin Temple, I had these dreams. When I started watching movies of Shaolin, I was more drawn to teachings than the combat aspects of it. In all my dreams I always remember, change is wonderful. A caterpillar doesn’t spin its cocoon to hide itself from the world, it eventually shows its true wonder as it changes to the beautiful butterfly. Was this just a dream? That comes to me most nights? Throughout most my life? So real I can taste the dew of the mornings, and feel the aches at night?
Hey Ranton, I can almost feel your feelings from the screen and its about to make me cry. I know your a genuine ass dude and whatever I was looking for, I think I've found it, through you. I'm an Chinese-American living in the urban areas as well. Currently I reside at Buffalo New York, but I've lived in New York City all my life. I've recently graduated college and I've came to realize I really dislike this place. Everyone I am surrounded with is obsessed with finances, money, and status. I make good money myself, but I cannot see myself continue down this path. I am unable to find myself, constantly being bombarded by distractions, social media, and sometimes depression. Meditation and trying to bring myself back to the present moment as helped a lot though, but it's not enough. I'm turning 24 this September, and I have yet to find the slightest clue a what I should be doing (I am not passionate about what I do). You've opened my eyes to do something else, although I am still battling myself to drop everything and go. Thank you for sharing your experiences and make these videos. P.S I've visited China a couple of times, mainly to Zhoushan where my family immigrated from and still have some family there. My experiences come close to lackluster because i fail to be grateful sometimes, and it gets lonely there when I didn't speak the language. I speak okay-chinese now. Chinglish lol. I would really like to experience something like you did, perhaps train something more than just my physical, more importantly my mind. I know this sounds stupid but is there a trial i can try? how did you become an apprentice, was it because you knew somebody? Sorrry last question, what was the small town with many xiaolin teacher?

You’re a beautiful person, you’ve helped me through so much and have inspired me to do things I never thought I’d do or think I could do. Buddhism makes me feel very unique to myself and connected with something divine making sure that no matter what I choose, it’ll be the right choice
Buddhism has that spirit
Are they any Girls learning Shaolin Kung Fu in the temple ?
Probably not Not many girls like to fight
No but they have their own temple with nuns
I saw why you left before I watched this. I can see the pain on your face bro. To climb that mountain that last time, with the emotion and physical pain you were feeling, is truly inspiring.
Does the color of your suit mean anything?
Monks usually wear a grey-ish robes. Masters tend to wear brown occasionally. But its become very loosey-goosey. For some special ceremonies and kung fu performances the color/outfit is changed.
Ah, interesting
I’m learning about Shaolin monks and Kung-fu for dance at school, finding your channel has been so interesting. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I wish to go to a shaolin temple to practice Kung Fu
Tim Drake then do, boy
BOI
NEVER EVER GIVE UP.
our a beautiful part of your life that will never be forgotten these beautiful moments! Formidable experience👏👍🙏
WOW!! That view must have been amazing to see in person!!!

I enjoy and respect your self- depricating style, it's very refreshing and say's so much about you character. "May the road rise with you".✌
Most dreams I’ve had was of me at the Shaolin Temple.
My god man I was emotional 2 mins in stop, to good you’re amazing
