► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
Detailed answer: • How we afford to trave... 😉
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

I just realized I should have added more captions when the guide is speaking inside the museum, as the audio is a little low, so if you want captions, just activate the subtitles ☺️😉

Very cool!
You know Renata, seeing your video brought tears to my eyes. Especially that now, due to the pandemic, Jonker Street is no longer as what it is. Business are dying and some were closed. I keep rewatching your videos because it reminds me of all the good times I had in Malaysia before. I spent most of my adult years in KL and Penang. The positivity that you potrays in your videos made me happy. Thanks Renata!
Thanks again Mohamad Sharizal

Beautifully presented, cool editing!
Hi Adrian! Thank you so much 🤗😊
This is the best video of Malacca that I've seen. I skipped Malacca during my recent trip to Malaysia......making Malacca number one on my list for my next trip to Southeast Asia. 😊
Angel C, thank you! Your comments inspire us to continue making content. 😀😍
Good to see Renata introduced Malacca, Excellent Video! There are a few of the Kristang People who live in Malacca Portuguese Settlement speak Kristang language which is Portuguese mixed Hokkien and Malay Language, it sounds interesting. Most of them are Catholic and they still follow some Portuguese culture until now. Maybe you can visit them next time after the pandemic is gone.
Yes, that would be cool. I did meet one person of Portuguese descent.
Excellent tour! Thank you for sharing with us!
Hi Brigitte! Thanks to you for watching 😘😘. All the best!
I love the video. I love the tour of the museum and the old buildings. I have been to melaka many times but i hv never taken the tour in the museum. Maybe i should next time. The boat ride is best to take between 6pm - 7pm because by that time the weather will not be that hot anymore and you could still see the scenery clearly. At night its nice to have a drink or dinner by the riverside. I love melaka because its rich with history and character from the buildings to the communities living there.
Ahhh, it makes sense... But we ended up doing the boat tour during the day... It was good too, as there was a breeze 😊. The tour was very nice, it was so interesting to learn about Melaka and Malaysian history 😊
There's a Portugese village in Melaka. The seafood there is excellent. If you come during Christmas time, all the Portugese houses in the Portugese Village was lighted up so brightly and beautiful.
Kenny K thank you for the information. We and our audience appreciate
Thank you for sharing how beautiful and interesting Melaka is, to the world! To those of you out there who have not come to Malaysia, we welcome you to Malaysia, Truly Asia! Malaysia is one of the underrated countries and needs more exposure like this

Before the melaka river upgrade, the water was pitch black due to sewage. That's 180 degrees improvement.
Very good to hear. It makes for a nice waterfront
Bewareof the smell
before the st paul church was built the hill used to home the Palace of Malacca Sultanate. it is said that the palace is 6 storeys high. It was burned during the Portuguese invasion in 1551.
Oh my, if only it would have survived. Thank you for sharing that information. Do you know if there is a painting of it somewhere in Malaysia?
A for museum tour guide !

Renata: Malaysia is just a remarkable country in Southeast Asia with many great things for ALL tourists to visit in 2022!
It really is, thanks for mentioning
We spent time in melaka and loved it , a very interesting city with lots of colonial history. We actually went to mass in Christ church. We also spent a lot of time by the canal in the restaurants, great selection of food . Good video , well made .
Rascal Husky, thank you very much! 👍😀
Great video Renata.. as always 👍..
Hi Aris! Thank you so much 😊
There’s a Portuguese settlement in Malacca where they still maintain a certain level of Portuguese heritage and fly Portuguese flags at their houses. But the few Portuguese I’ve met in Europe who are aware of that settlement said the people there spoke a version of ancient Portuguese that have not been developed for 600 years.
Thank you for the information. Yes, even the Portuguese is different between Portugal and Brazil.
Always you both are eating. I am feeling hungry seeing you. I went to melaka, have a good time. I love you renata.
Thank you! 😃

How nice! We loved Melaka too, also hoping to go back one day 😍
16:30 My favorite hotel of choice whenever I visit Melaka
Yes, very good hotel and in great location. Thanks for watching😀
Just a small note : There is a small group of Portuguese descent living in Malacca which they called it Portuguese Settlement. It becomes very lively especially during Christmas festival period as they would have mini carnivals, dances & also "a Jesus statue " like Christ The Redeemer in Brazil. If I''m not mistaken , there is small group of people that speak Portuguese , mostly the elders & older generation. The Portuguese Settlement is also quite lively at night as there are seafood restaurants that sells seafood like crabs, prawn & fish as well.
Thank you for the information! 😊 We and our audience appreciate
First, music was lit. Second, I like the enthusiasm of the lady explaining the history in the museum, such vibrant energy ❤❤. Lastly, the Portuguese settlement was not featured, maybe next time. I truly enjoyed the video. It's been a while I've been to Melaka. Thank you Renata.

Actually Malacca natural resource is their geographical sea...
The steepness of their sea bank is what makes it attracting to the traders, bcz a lot of ships can dock at the same time, plus Malacca sit in the middle of the Europe and Asia sea trading path...
Thats why Malacca can be the busiest trading port in 1500...
