      aleshchins I bought that foundation because of her video! It totally doesn't transfer on me! I can touch my face and it doesn't move. I wear glasses and it obviously comes off a bit on the pads but nothing terrible. And it keeps be pretty matte. I'm oily but this foundation keeps it under control and my face just looks super natural and fresh

    Taylor the RUclipsr reviewed the new Soft Matte foundation from TooFaced and it truly was transferproof and it's not near as bad for your skin. I think you should try that.

    Just came down here to see the million comments about alcohol being the 3rd ingredient 😂🤣😂🤣
    I totally agree though, terrible for the skin. It will completely destroy the elastin and collagen in your skin. So yeah, it's fab for oily skin at first but really isnt worth it in the long run. Xoxo

    Before I watch this, I have to say, I have been obsessed with this since day 1! I put this on today at 8 am, it's almost 6pm, I've taken a 3 hr nap, and I look like I've just put my makeup on. I've never had a foundation hide my pores either. Good god this is the BEST EVERRRRRR. It's magical 🦄😁

    I have very sensitive skin and chronic hives; with all the fragrance and alcohol in that foundation my skin would have been SCREAMING within an hour. It also would have been dried out because my skin type is combo-dry (mostly dry). I'm so sorry for you and your skin, Cassie!

  • @zehraashraf85

    maybe trying another mattifying primer and another brand, not guerlain, may help your foundations, not just this one. I've noticed you are still using same brand. who knows may not change anything but could make a difference too.

  • @niki-n8035

    I've been a huge fan of YSL foundations but this one had ingredients that if used over a prolonged period of time will strip your skin and decrease your radiance, alcohol is like one of the first 3 ingredients, therefore, this one I'm passing on cuz skin care is more important to me, without a good canvas forget the toppers lol!

    • @laurat2425
      @laurat2425 7 лет назад +1

  • @aidancash1

    Cassie please try the foundation with different primers. Maybe it's the combo that didn't work well for you.....also you Killin me lol..I am an esthetician and when I see you apply your moisturizer and primers I cringe. Please apply your products upwards and outwards pulling downwards causes fine lines and wrinkles. Also when applying eye products try to apply from the outside to the inside corner. Applying in the opposite direction pulls the very think eye skin and causes fine lines and wrinkles as well. I don't mean to upset you by saying this so please don't take it that way. I love watching you and your videos.

    • @sylviacarrasquillo7649
      @sylviacarrasquillo7649 7 лет назад +12

      Kim Mcwane I think your supposed to pat anything around your eyes. Pulling in any direction often will cause wrinkles. And wrinkles will come regardless believe me.

    • @Kmcwane1979
      @Kmcwane1979 7 лет назад +3

      Sylvia Carrasquillo when an esthetician talks to her client we always tell our clients to Pat the product in HOWEVER you may rub lightly from the outside corner of the eye towards the inside corner of the eye taking the product up and around and finishing back at the temples where you started. This very LIGHT motion will not tug the skin as long as it it done VERY lightly. Wrinkles do come at any age however there are things you can do to keep them at Bay. Hydration, avoid tugging and pulling at the skin and when using a makeup wipe always move from the temple inwards the same goes for washing the delicate eye area. But I didn't mention in my original comment to rub a product in to the eye area. I just said to apply in the opposite direction 😁

    • @sylviacarrasquillo7649
      @sylviacarrasquillo7649 7 лет назад +1

      Kim Mcwane thank you but why from the outside inward?

    • @Kmcwane1979
      @Kmcwane1979 7 лет назад +3

      Sylvia Carrasquillo around the eye is so thin, any type of rubbing or pulling stretches it and can cause deep set wrinkles. That part of our skin is so delicate, it's the only spot on the human body that is the thinnest. It's also the hardest part to keep hydrated.

    • @sylviacarrasquillo7649
      @sylviacarrasquillo7649 7 лет назад

      Kim Mcwane yes I know all that I take good care of my skin. I was just curious as to why you go from outer edge to inner what is the difference if you go from inner to outer?

    Cassie....I'm not trying to be mean here. But why don't you blend around your nose? Take the tip of the beauty blender or the brush and get in there. It would look really good. Just a tip...not being mean. I've told you this before but you prob didnt see the comment. Great review! Thanks for this!

  • @elkaphant
    @elkaphant 7 лет назад +10

    Fun glasses tip: if you move the nose pads slightly closer together, it'll lift the lenses to be further away from your face, so the bottom of the lenses don't touch your face. For me, this makes for a lot less smudging, and does away with the feeling of glasses touching my cheeks when I smile, etc. Lemme know if you try it Cassie!! Much love from the glasses-wearers of the world 💜

      Her skin will never look flawless as long as she fails to put the foundation in the creases next to her nostrils. It looks so crusty and gross, but more than that, it just makes it obvious she is wearing foundation. Does anyone know why she doesn't blend her makeup into the sides of her nose? Even when everything else looks amazing, that area always looks bad. I've never seen anyone else do that.

    • @ladyaki7069

    • @suzymanville232
      @suzymanville232 7 лет назад +3

      bianca marie sorry, probably not the best place for it, except that for someone who seems to be seeking foundation that gives her flawless skin that lasts, she seems to sabotage herself many ways, one of which she, according to her, can't see a thing without glasses, yet applies her make-up without them on (obviously) and apparently can't see how bad the sides of her nose look when she doesn't apply foundation there. I doubt anyone would be mad if she wore her contacts, especially during application.

      Suzy Manville It's kind of funny you happened to mention the nose thing under my comment because I actually just commented on another video of hers about the same thing.. not in a mean way but in an effort to truly be constructive and helpful. I honestly enjoy watching Cassie but it can get frustrating as a viewer when I'm on the other side of the video wishing I could shake her and say "Blend better, girl!". I only say this in hopes that it helps her.. if I was walking around with unblended foundation I sure hope I have a good enough friend to tell me rather then let me continue walking around with a patchy face! The same way I'd want someone to let me know if I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe or a piece of broccoli in between my teeth! Lol 😂

    I wear this foundation in the same shade as you but my skin is normal. I find the trick with this foundation is to use setting spray after you finish your makeup - I powder with bare minerals mineral veil then I use Urban Decay all nighter setting spray and it just melts into this perfect finish that lasts all day. I wear reading glasses and the foundation stays put with the setting spray.

    I've been testing this foundation for a few days now and had a similar experience. I LOVE it when I initially put it on but only a few hours in and I already need blotting papers and feel the need to touch up my t-zone. I wear a gel moisturizer plus porefessional primer and a translucent powder on top. Maybe i will try it without the primer?? Ugh us oily ladies just can't win. This however, did not make me breakout and I didn't notice the fragrance. Thanks for the honest review and making me feel less crazy for not loving this hyped foundation!

      For the first time in my adult life, I found a way to keep my foundation on under my glasses. I have really dry skin and have been using hourglass serum primer but it's only hydrating, no real lasting power. So, I combined it with the hourglass mineral primer and everything I have put on top since then stays put and looks amazing. I couldn't be happier. My foundation always looked cakey, it didn't matter what one I used or how much I put on, but with this new primer combo, nothing budges all day, including under my glasses. I only have the small travel size of both but I only use a tiny amount for my whole face. I have like 25 different primers in my bathroom so I've done the research. This is what has finally worked for me.

      Yeah, I wear contacts but I hate wearing sunglasses because even just 5 minutes on my face, and I got a nose pad stamp! Something that I found that KINNNDDAA helps is coating the nose pad with a clear matte polish top coat so instead of the sticky-ish plastic touching your nose, you have a soft matte surface. I also powder the nose pad and I found that it helps a bit.

    What about a mattifying primer and setting spray, and a finely milled blotting powder applied a few times during the day? If you love the way it looks, these could help? Frankly, there isn't a foundation that exist for me that I don't need to blot with some powder at some point throughout the day. And my skin isn't even super oily. It looks so nice on your skin, and the shade is a perfect match. :)

    This foundation was unreal how great it looked on you! I have to try it if the finish is that beautiful. Have you ever tried using eyeshadow primer on your skin where the nosepads rest before applying your foundation? I have to do that under my eyes when I have to do certain jobs at work that are hot and sweaty. It works like a charm for my undereye and keeps the concealer from creasing or separating. Just a thought!

    My face became so much more oily trying this out too by the end of the day and I don't use blogging papers throughout the day because most other foundations I use don't get as oily as this foundation did. The smell was also really strong and I don't usually mind it but to me it smelled like old lady smell.

      Christal George To me, it only makes sense if I focus on one category like performance only. Because honestly, if that category fails, it doesn't matter if it has a lovely shade range and is a good price and applies nicely. You know? It could get a zero in actual performance and still score high.

      That’s exactly there i’m at with my glasses 😞 tried everything... now I just try to keep them on the same spots there the foundation has rubbed off already... with sunglasses i put smaller nose pads than the ones they came with - at least it’s a smaller footprint... 😏

    You should try the new Laura Mercier Fusion foundation! Laura Mercier is known for being all about skin so you might actually like that one, plus I hear it's also full coverage!

    If you google low bridge fit, or adjusted lens tilt. You can get the exact glasses you want so same style as you have now but they will not touch your cheeks, at all it is so amazing for foundation wearers.

    Hi Cassie! It's a shame that it didn't keep up with expectations... Been a very old fan but I was at the store recently and kept thinking about what drugstore foundations you recommended and I couldn't remember a lot of them... Would love it if you made an updated video of your favorite drugstore foundations, since I have similar skin to yours and a very close skin tone! Lots of love~

    This looked better on your skin than I have seen. Yes it wore off a bit but did you set it with powder? Did you use a setting spray? It still faded gracefully. And never looked pastey or cakey.

    I know it might sound like a really stupid suggestion, but is it possible that this foundation might work better without a primer? I also have oily skin and there are a couple of foundations I much prefer using without a primer at all. Maybe it's worth another go without a primer, just to make sure it's not for you, Cassie? :( And btw, I love watching you no matter what your vlogs/videos are about... :) Love your choice of music, missing the sink kitty bits... :))

    Great review Cassie. It really does look good on you and so many others - however the high alcohol content is a real deterrent for me. I'm glad u are returning it because it's not good for our skin!!!!!

    I had a love-hate relationship with this foundation, and I have dry skin! I did not return mine, loved it, however it's got too much denatured alcohol in it which can, if used long term, cause skin damage. Yep, it didnt hold well under my glasses either... but it did last well on my face/skin overall. Love your reviews Cassie!

    Hi Cassie I just wanted to let you you know that some Opticians now over a glass tilting service. The glasses just get titled back ever so slightly and it stops the bottom of your frame from touching your face. It was life changing for me. Thought I should pass on the information :)

Even as just a sample from sephora you have to try it out! I hope you love it like I do if you do end up trying it :P
