- For as long as I can remember, this spray foundation from Sephora has been renowned as a dupe for the much pricier Dior Airflash foundation. Considering how much I liked that one I really had my fingers crossed that this is indeed a dupe... is it!? Σ(゜ロ゜;)

Cassie, do you never wear powder on your face? Just because you said that you put on a little bit of powder, because it looked so shiny. I personally think you should always wear powder! It really makes your foundation last longer and it helps with creasing too, especially if you have oily skin. I guess you already know that, i just wanted to say it because i feel like it would help you so much, to make your makeup last! ✨ love you, i hope you don't take this as hate 💕

I have dry skin and am still trying to figure out how to make foundation work. I love how thoroughly you consider and discuss your skin type when you test foundations. I keep looking for someone who does the same with dry skin. Thank you for your videos!

I used to work for Sephora, and when this foundation came out, all of the artists instantly went straight in and started using it on themselves and clients to see how it worked. And honestly, I love it soooo much more than the Dior foundation. It's literally about half the price and in my experience it's much longer lasting, more color selection, looks smoother (used it on textured clients and smoother clients alike), and overall just sits much nicer on the skin. Definitely recommend it, especially for special events and even weddings!
Also, I much prefer applying it to the back of your hand or to a palette and dipping your brush into it, or even like you showed with a sponge. You will get better coverage with a tightly packed kabuki style brush than with a sponge, so it will depend on your desired coverage.
Also (again), you need to set it with oily skin, oil free products ARE NOT the same as oil controlling products. Just because they are formulated oil free doesn't mean it will control your oil because there are different ingredients that go into oil CONTROLLING products.
Kayla Jenkins. I am 55 with quite a few wrinkles & oily T zone. I used the Dior airflash for a couple of years & it is perfection in a can. When the Sephora version came out I bought it to try cos it’s cheaper than Dior.
I applied it in exactly the same way as I apply the Dior, using the exact same products on my face.
I found that it became oily a LOT faster than the Dior. It also settled into my fine lines/wrinkles pretty quick & emphasised my pores.
The makeup artist that did my daughters wedding makeup used Dior airflash. She said she tried the Sephora one, on different skin types, but hated it & threw it away.
All of the RUclips leading makeup artists that I’ve seen doing tests on Sephora against Dior, said that Sephora was ok but they all went for the Dior.

I just don't get the spray foundation thing..... you gotta worry about getting it in your hair/on your clothes/etc, then you still gotta brush/blot it on lol so yea doesn't make much sense

I live in my Dior airflash. I do a quick spray (2 seconds max), very close, onto a plastic lid. Then I dab a little on my beauty blender & get perfect all over coverage, without any product being wasted. It looks flawless & just beautiful for hours & hours. Love it

Cassie, I agree with you that this foundation starts to feel heavy after a while. It's good for short time use, because the finish is beautiful at first. I have found I can't wait to wash this off my face after about 5 hours.

Did you try a matte finishing powder?
And have you considered maybe youre over moisturizing? Maybe try a coupe wks without your regular routine, switch it up, only moisture lightly before bed. Sometimes switching things up can be beneficial to reset your skin! You never know 💜
I have a question as a loyal supporter of your channel (btw I’m 14) I have to say I’m no doctor but your skin looks dehydrated that’s why it’s oily. I have the same skin as you but I went to a dermatologist and that’s how he explained it. Just trying to help ☺️
no problem and thank you!! My skin isn't, as far as I know, dehydrated though (I use serums, oils, and moisturizers every morning and night plus I drink LOADS of water every day) it just really is THAT oily haha some people's skin is unfortunately ^^;

You're so lucky Figaro let you clean it! Mine has at least one 'stinky poopy butt moment' a week and it always becomes like an hour long ordeal chasing him around my apartment!
I thought the foundation looked nice on you though! The somewhat oily-ness looked kind of fresh and nice to me.
hunts ser I'm not sure where you live, but if you are in the US....go to a petsmart and get feliway spray. They sell it on Amazon as well. It's a calming pheromone and it will make the ordeal less stressful.
Spray a towel or blanket, wait 20min. Then wrap the kitty in the blanket or tell (I call it the kitty burrito/purrito), leaving the butt exposed. Then pick the dinkleberries (poop lol) off.
You can also spray the room when you spray the blanket, to calm the kitty beforehand (:
I don't have oily skin, but Jackie Aina here on RUclips has very oily skin and setting her primer with setting powder seems to always work for her! Maybe you could try that one day and see if it helps?

What do you use for sunscreen prior to your makeup application? You don’t ever mention that, and you don’t list it in the description box. Foundation reviews should also be tested over SPF. I never not use it, and I assume many others are the same way these days.

Harvs14 I never said they should be reviewed ONLY over sunscreen. I said they should ALSO be tested over sunscreen to see how they perform. Foundations will usually perform differently, or not be compatible with certain sunscreens and it’s good to know. Many people, perhaps not yourself, wear a separate sunscreen before makeup application year round during the day. It’s a very important step in anti-aging skincare, and the obvious protection from skin cancer it gives you. You can’t rely on the SPF that is already included in foundation as it’s simply not enough. It’s fine if Cassie doesn’t wear it, that’s her choice, but as a casual BG that reviews foundations, she should be a proponent of wearing it, but that’s only my opinion.
sarajosully I’m all for wearing sunscreen everyday, I just didn’t realise there were such strict rules for what someone should do when they review foundation.
