I agree with you 100% Lucy is destined for international stardom. She really is the full package including the ability to sing any style of music effortlessly. I understand that Martha performed 2 duets at Lucy's "live" concert performance in Manchester UK. So we're all looking forward to those being uploaded onto utube soon.

I loved the studio version of this song but love this one more. Lucy’s voice has matured so much in such a short time and has a deeper tone which just draws me in. Amazingly talented ❤

Larry, your reactions to Lucy are so spot on and emotive. I always head here when a new Lucy release drops. Here' a suggestion: how about a dedicated Lucy channel? Do it all from the beginning. At one a week it will only take a year 🙂 You could start at the beginning and analyze how she has developed over time into a once-in-a-lifetime powerhouse.
Lucy has got another concert lined up in October, in London this time.

Neither of the duets with Martha at Lucy's concert have been released yet.
However. their most recent duet release was three months ago.

“Fresh blood”? “Fresh meat”? Isn’t that an unduly crass description of such a pure, classy, and elegant young lady? More thoughtful and substantive descriptions are warranted, in my opinion.
Do not consider this live version better than the original cover...........
I think it is she has more tonal richness now in the lower registers then a few years ago and when she sings live in concert her voice isn't being sanitised by pitch correction software.

@@adamknight7041I agree enthusiastically. What a treasure she is. In every way. "Sanitized" hits the nail on the head, not as a description of Lucy, but as an accurate description of the modern music industry. I would dearly love to know to what extent autotune and pitch correction are used by Lucy's producer (even live). I think it is clear that these "tools" can make a mediocre singer better, but they rob supreme talents like Lucy of subtle nuances and a wee bit of humanity. I have difficulty imagining how Lucy could be any better than what I am hearing, but if she is being filtered, I wish there was a way to tell Chris Bloom to cut it out. I have written him a couple of times but got no response. Lucy deserves better. IMHO. I am an old man now but Lucy has brought me more joy and peace nusically than any other vocalist in my long life. Music is "medicine for the soul" and Lucy Thomas is a master physician. I am thankful to God for her.

During the concert Lucy sang 1000 years as a tribute to Martha with photos and video of them on a giant screen then Martha came in and they sang Wonderful World and The Prayer - sublime!

I can't really see how you could sing this classic any other way. In my humble opinion, it's the best version I think you'll ever hear with no disrespect to Etta James
This young lady sounds just as good live as any of her recordings....amazing, and that talent shines right through. This is a rare talent that is world class at a very young age...hard to believe she will get better as she ages...if that is even possible. She is already as good as many older long time famous singers. The sky is the limit for her.

When I look and listen to Lucy in this performance, she looks relaxed and comfortable as she sings. Th slight nervousness that I saw at the beginning of "Somewhere" has totally gone, and she is in the groove. Lucy is thriving in the atmosphere of a live concert and having the time of her life.
Hi Chris Great to see you back Lucy .What a great performance she absolutely nails this I think this live version is better than her studio version Which she sang 3 years ago and has 1.9million views and that version was brilliant. I hope she releases "Don´t cry for me Argentina" which I believe she also sang in this concert. Lucy is off to Tokyo in September for another concert Our girl´s fame is spreading. Chris, Lucy released a studio version of this song in June of 2021 when she was just 17 years old. At that time she did a more jazzy performance of the song. This time she did it more sultry using more of her lower register. Go check out her earlier version of the song.

I think this is stunning technically and she sung it beautifully but emotion - I think she was cut off from emotion here. That’s being so incredibly picky though.

@@johncollins392 you are probably right. It could have been something as simple as the song isn’t one that I absolutely love. It’s great but doesn’t move me- maybe that was it. I love Lucy Thomas and nobody could probably sing it better - and at a concert too. I concede you may be right.🤷🏻♀️
